Healing
Healing is a gameplay mechanic for replenishing the health of a character or NPC. Every player is equipped with a dedicated healing skill slot. (Default 6) Skills, Traits, Upgrade components and Consumables may alter the effectiveness of incoming or outgoing healing. The Healing Power attribute directly increases effectiveness of all healing done by a player.
Healing scales linearly with healing power depending on the source. For example, each point of Healing Power adds 0.125 healing towards Regeneration.
Total healing done = [(mechanic-specific base healing) + (Healing Power) * (mechanic-specific coefficient)] * (sum of healing multipliers)
The healed amount appears as a green number aligned with the healed character on the screen. No numbers are shown for characters already at full health.
Healing skill[edit]
The dedicated healing skill occupies the sixth slot on the skill bar. All professions have four unique healing skills to choose from, while some races provide a fifth choice as a racial skill. All elite specializations provide an additional healing skill. These profession skills generally only heal the caster, with a few exceptions such as Healing Spring, "Receive the Light!", or Signet of Vampirism.
In addition to the dedicated healing skill slot, all professions have some means to provide minor, supportive healing. For example, a warrior may use shouts to heal allies while Vigorous Shouts is traited. Engineers may grant regeneration to allies near them with their tool belt skills.
In order for players to be able to effectively sustain other characters in prolonged or intense combat situations such as World versus World or raids, the "healer" is often required to invest in healing centered gear, consumables, trait lines, and other Healing Power effects. As an example, all elementalists can provide healing through their Water Attunement skills, but with a higher Healing Power attribute, or with the selection of the Water specialization, those skills become far more effective.
Various traits and upgrade components which proc their effects "when healing" refer to use of the dedicated healing skill instead of any other source of active or passive healing.
Sub-mechanics[edit]
- The regeneration boon replenishes health over time and is affected by increases of outgoing healing such as Sigil of Benevolence.
- Life steal is a more offensive manner of healing which occurs when successfully hitting a foe.
- Healing modifiers stack additively, which includes Poisoned and Agony. [1] However, when affected by both Poison and Agony, their effects are not added individually but instead treated as a single negative 80% modifier.
- For allies at full health, group healing skills applied to them will overflow to the next ally following the same distribution order as for Boons. This order also applies for non-overflow healing.

- Rapid Regeneration (Scrapper) — Regenerate health while affected by swiftness or superspeed.
- Heat Therapy (Holosmith) — Gain health per unit of heat lost. This trait does not function while cooling due to an overheat unless Photonic Blasting Module is equipped.
- Rugged Growth (Wilderness Survival) — You and your pet recover health while affected by protection.
- Evasive Purity (Nature Magic) — Cleanse a condition when you dodge. Heal if you cleansed a condition this way.
- Windborne Notes (Nature Magic) — Grant nearby allies regeneration when you use a warhorn skill. Heal allies when you grant them regeneration.
- Invigorating Bond (Nature Magic) — Beast skills heal allies around the ranger.
- Natural Healing (Beastmastery) — Your pet recovers health each interval.
- Cultivated Synergy (Druid) — Using your heal skill, heals allies around you and your pet.
- Live Vicariously (Druid) — When you heal an ally, you are also healed.

- Shadow Savior (Shadow Arts) — After completing a shadowstep, you are healed. Nearby allies are also healed for a larger amount. Only affects thief shadowsteps.
- Assassin's Reward (Acrobatics) — Heal yourself whenever you use a skill that uses initiative. Heal yourself for each point of initiative spent.
- Escapist's Fortitude (Daredevil) — Gain health when you successfully evade an attack. Remove a condition whenever you evade an attack.
- Dark Sentry (Specter) — Apply Rot Wallow Venom to allies you grant barrier to. Outgoing healing to allies is increased. Rot Wallow Venom effect cannot apply to yourself.
- Traversing Dusk (Specter) — Heal allies in the area around you when you shadowstep. Gain shadow force for each ally in the radius. Wells grant resistance on their initial impact.
- Hungering Darkness (Specter) — While in shroud, transfer conditions from your tethered ally and cleanse conditions from yourself. Each condition removed in this fashion heals a percentage of your base health and grants your tethered ally barrier.
- Soothing Mist (Water) — You and nearby allies recover health while you are attuned to water.
- Healing Ripple (Water) — Heal nearby allies when attuning to water. This effect will not trigger when attuning to the same element, but will be triggered by overload skills.
- Flow like Water (Water) — Deal increased strike damage, which is further increased while your health is above the threshold. Blocking or evading an attack heals you.
- Arcane Restoration (Arcane) — Swapping attunements restores health.
- Elemental Bastion (Tempest) — Heal allies you grant an aura to. Grant frost aura to nearby allies when struck while below the health threshold.
- Restorative Mantras (Inspiration) — Heals allies around you when you use a charge of a Mantra.
- Illusionary Inspiration (Inspiration) — Increase healing to other allies. Summoning an illusion heals all allies around you. Virtuoso: Triggers when stocking a blade.
- Restorative Illusions (Inspiration) — Heal and cleanse conditions from yourself and nearby allies when you use a Shatter skill.
- All's Well That Ends Well (Chronomancer) — Wells heal allies when they end.
- Jagged Mind (Virtuoso) — Blade attacks inflict bleeding on critical hits. A percentage of your condition damage dealt heals you.
- Spiteful Renewal (Spite) — Consume conditions to gain health when you use a healing skill.
- Parasitic Contagion (Curses) — A percentage of your condition damage heals you. Healing will not occur while life force replaces health.
- Unholy Sanctuary (Death Magic) — Regenerate health while in shroud. If your life force is above the threshold, your shroud will activate if you would take a lethal blow.
- Life from Death (Blood Magic) — Heal allies in an area when you exit shroud. Increase healing to other allies.
- Transfusion (Blood Magic) — Shroud skill 4 heals and partially revives nearby allies.
- Soul Eater (Reaper) — Striking foes within the range threshold deals increased strike damage and heals you for a portion of the damage dealt. Healing will not occur while life force replaces health.
- Blighter's Boon (Reaper) — Gain life force when you apply a boon to yourself or remove a boon from an enemy. If you are in reaper's shroud, gain health instead.
- Alchemic Vigor (Harbinger) — Gain increased vitality. Heal each second for each stack of blight you have.
Trait skills that heal
- Lesser Litany of Wrath (Redemption) — Meditation. Heal yourself. For a brief time, heal yourself based on a percentage of damage dealt to enemies.
- Lesser Shield of Absorption (Protective Reviver) — Create a dome around you that pushes foes back and absorbs projectiles. After a duration, it detonates, healing nearby allies.
- Call of the Centaur (Song of the Mists) — Heal yourself and nearby allies.
- Saint's Shield (Saint of zu Heltzer) — Drop from above, granting barrier and healing to allies in the affected area.
- Bandage (Bunker Down) — Drop a pack of bandages that provides a little healing.
- Cleansing Wave (Evasive Arcana, when attuned to water) — Heal yourself and nearby allies, curing a condition.
- Lesser Well of Blood (Ritual of Life) — Summon a well of blood to heal nearby allies.
Traits that improve healing
- Force of Will (Honor) — Gain increased vitality. Healing others is improved based on a percentage of your vitality.
- Invoking Harmony (Salvation) — Healing done to other allies is increased for a short duration after invoking a legend.
- Serene Rejuvenation (Salvation) — Increase healing to other allies. Legendary Centaur skills apply boons in an area.
- Unyielding Devotion (Salvation) — Take reduced strike damage for a duration after healing. Lasts longer if you heal an ally other than yourself.
- Stalwart Focus (Discipline) — Increase your incoming healing effectiveness and healing to other allies.
- River's Flow (Bladesworn) — Incoming healing increased. Healing yourself increases flow rate. Regeneration effects do not trigger flow rate increase
- Health Insurance (Alchemy) — Increase your incoming healing effectiveness. Gain increased healing to others while using a med kit.
- Live Vicariously (Druid) — When you heal an ally, you are also healed.
- Natural Mender (Druid) — Increase healing to other allies. Gain astral force each interval while not in celestial avatar form.
