Dialogue[edit]
Mail[edit]
If asura:
Councillor Ludo Letter of Summons Just in case the name doesn't perk your ears, I'm Ludo of the Arcane Council. Met a few times. I'll keep this snappy. Wherever you've been vacationing these past few months, I doubt our little demon problem let you rest for very long. Alchemy, I've still got to file a few reports on the Rata Sum attack myself... One heck of a nasty day; probably our worst since Primordus. But what can I say? It happened. At least those things only show up every other week now, and in far fewer numbers than when the attacks first started. Plus, some good came of that mess. That's why I'm writing. How I made the list, I've got no hypothesis, but a couple of our world leaders started talking about our shared demon infestation. Especially after the Elder Dragons, everyone's a little eager to cut down any new threat while it's still in a preliminary education program. Meet with me. Let's talk about the Tyrian Alliance and your place in it. —Councillor Ludo |
If charr (Ash Legion):
Imperator Malice Swordshadow Cipher: Letter of Summons *This cipher has been transcribed by AGENT RAGESINGER on behalf of IMPERATOR MALICE SWORDSHADOW and is to be delivered to the PACT COMMANDER with haste.* MESSAGE START Commander, Malice here. Hope you're feeling rested, ‘cause I need you to meet me in the Black Citadel ASAP. Got some intel you'll want to hear about the Tyrian Alliance—new global faction aimed at establishing peace among the Tyrian societies. Will believe it when I see it, even if I can't argue with the sentiment. Might put me out of a job, though. All seems to be a reaction to the demon attacks. You heard about those...? Nasty. Gathering whatever information I can from Crecia now, but it looks like we've got a couple of busy days ahead. Might want to pack a ruck. Let's meet soon. END MESSAGE |
If charr (Other Legions):
Crecia Stoneglow Letter of Summons Commander, I know things've been tense, but I hope you're keeping those horns of yours screwed on. Between Bangar and the demon attacks, I haven't had a lot of space to think for myself. Just reacting to one problem after another. Nothing I haven't growled about before. I can only imagine what you've been up to, but it'd better involve a beach. You know I've always advocated for peace, which is always a tricky subject. But certain tragedy may have delivered just that. Whatever those demons were, wherever they came from...they got us talking. Leader to leader. Started with me and Queen Jennah, and the others fell in step right after. I wish it happened sooner, but I'll take what I can get. Meet me in the citadel. I'd like to talk with you about the Tyrian Alliance. —Crecia |
If human:
Queen Jennah Letter of Summons Dear Pact Commander, Following the aftermath of the demonic attacks on our cities, political leaders of this world have decided to act. I would like to discuss the first summit of the Tyrian Alliance at your earliest convenience. Countess Anise and I will be waiting for you in Divinity's Reach. Sincerely, |
If norn:
Skarti Knutsson Letter of Summons Slayer of Issormir—Commander. I am Skarti, son of Knut Whitebear. You're not inexperienced when it comes to facing unknown threats. None of us are anymore; not really. When those demons arrived, they brought something even the Elder Dragons couldn't get to last for longer than a bonfire on a cold night: peace. Or at least, conversations about peace. You've been invited to the Tyrian Alliance. I'll give you the details. Meet with me in Hoelbrak and we'll get to it. —Skarti Knutsson PS. On a personal note, I haven't had the space to thank you for all you've done for our people. I look forward to meeting with you |
If sylvari:
Firstborn Dagonet Letter of Summons Valiant, I hope this letter finds you in a summer breeze, carrying you toward warmer days with a path brightly lit. I am Firstborn Dagonet. Perhaps you remember me? I've been aiding the Pale Mother in leading our people. She heals still. The process has been drawn out, but I'm glad to report that color returns to her cheeks. She is quite weak and tired yet, but frequent visits from the newborns raise her spirits. Her focus is always pointed toward the future of her children. This is why I am writing to you today—that optimistic but often naive promise of tomorrow. Despite the cold days that we've faced over this decade, something has happened. Something that feels quite different—and white it's a curious motion, I hope it will be good for our world. Leaders have started speaking on even ground about our shared ailments and woes, our strengths, and even our needs. I personally attribute this sudden action to the demons and their rampage on our lands. The Tyrian Alliance will be holding its first summit shortly. Let us meet and discuss a plan. —Dagonet |
At the racial home city[edit]
- If asura
- Councillor Ludo: "Meet with Pact Commander"—check... Alchemy, this list isn't getting any smaller.
- <Character name>: Councillor Ludo?
- Councillor Ludo: Correct. Thank you for the prompt arrival. If only the rest of the council acted as professionally...
- <Character name>: The Arcane Council, professional? When hylek fly.
- Councillor Ludo: I'll get to it; you've been elected to the Tyrian Alliance, World leaders. Your invitation is buried under research papers.
- Councillor Ludo: No bother. I will be representing Rata Sum and the Arcane Council. 'Bout time we got involved.
- Councillor Ludo: You were personally elected by the founding committee to join us. We're meeting in Lion's Arch.
- <Character name>: I... Fascinating. When is this happening?
- Councillor Ludo: Soon. I need to meet with the rest of my peers before departing; last ditch effort to get some support.
- Councillor Ludo: I will meet you there. Hopefully with more allies. As nettlesome as they might be.
- Councillor Ludo: Oh. And here's your invitation. Almost dropped it into an ooze containment farm.
- If charr (Ash legion)
- Malice Swordshadow: Aren't you a sight for sore eyes.
- Malice Swordshadow: Weren't you supposed to be resting? Looks like you've been training cubs for six months straight.
- <Character name>: Something like that. Want to tell me about that cryptic letter of yours?
- Malice Swordshadow: How are you with large gatherings of politically engaged individuals?
- <Character name>: Fine. Why?
- Malice Swordshadow: You've been elected to the Tyrian Alliance. Crecia invited me as her plus-one. You, though, seem to be well liked.
- Malice Swordshadow: The founding nations extended you a personal invite. Lion’s Arch in the coming days. Interested?
- <Character name>: Not sure if I'm flattered. I'll see you two there.
- Malice Swordshadow: Looking forward to it. Gotta say, I feel more at home in the trenches working on discovery versus a global council...
- Malice Swordshadow: But it should be interesting. Eager to build out my intel on Cantha, and I heard the empress is coming.
- Malice Swordshadow: Right, your invitation... Crecia left it with me in case we crossed paths. I opened it.
- If charr (Other legions)
- Blood Legion Captain: Who— Ah.
- Blood Legion Captain: The imperator is expecting you. Go ahead.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Commander. Apologies for the formality.
- <Character name>: Good to see you faring so well, Crecia. How are you and Rytlock?
- Crecia Stoneglow: Rytlock's in Grothmar, helping keep tensions down. Good, though. Happy to be out of the office.
- Crecia Stoneglow: I'm up to my horns in diplomacy. Truthfully, I'd rather beon a recon assignment, claws caked in something rotten...
- <Character name>: You're better suited for this work than anyone else in the legions.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Nobodoy wants the job. I'm just the unlucky grunt who complained the least when offered it. But I'm keeping another civil war at bay.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Which is why I called on you. We weren't the only ones to clean house in the wake of Cantha.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Caught wind of the Tyrian Alliance, yet?
- <Character name>: Outside of your letter, it's news to me.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Thought so. We're trying our hand at unification. Or something like it. Not just the charr... Everyone.
- Crecia Stoneglow: The demon attacks really put a damper on our post-dragon-cycle relaxation. Thankfully, none of us are good at relaxing.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Now, if only we could figure out this whole Khan-Ur thing...
- <Character name>: You'd be great at it.
- Crecia Stoneglow: I don't know about that, but better me or Efram than someone like Bangar.
- Crecia Stoneglow: But enough talk. That seat will remain vacant. As for now, consider this your invitation on behalf of the charr.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Queen Jennah called us to action rather suddenly. I expect something interesting is brewing.
- Crecia Stoneglow: She asked me to give this to you.
- If human
- Shining Blade Guard: Apologies, Commander. Her Majesty is occupied. Ive been asked to direct you to Countess Anise instead.
- After finding countess Anise...
- Countess Anise: Commander. Too long.
- <Character name>: Countess, the pleasure is mine. I thought I was meeting with the queen.
- Countess Anise: My liege is indisposed. I appreciate your flexibility.
- <Character name>: Oh? I hope all is well. Hate to see even more flippancy tossed at her feet.
- Countess Anise: I can certainly hope, but I'm afraid drama clings to her like a bad smell. Good luck washing the linens.
- Countess Anise: But that's unimportant. For now. On my queen's behalf, I would like to extend an inviation.
- Countess Anise: The first meeting of the Tyrian Alliance will be commencing in Lion's Arch. We would like to see you there.
- <Character name>: The Tyrian Alliance?
- Countess Anise: Correct. Might be stuffy, but I expect some...interesting developments.
- Countess Anise: The world is changing; we know this. Between the demon attacks, Soo-Won, and Aurene... We woke up to a very different world.
- Countess Anise: Now, let's hope everyone is willing to keep it in one piece.
- Countess Anise: Oh, before I forget. Your invitation.
- If norn
- Skarti: I want to respect his desires, but he has responsibility. If my brother shows his face...
- Ingrid: You'll be the first to know. But mind you, my love, we're all healing in our own way.
- Skarti: A good reminder. When we're done here, this note is for Braham.
- Skarti: Ah! Good to see your face in these halls! A champion returned.
- Skarti: Name's Skarti; we've likely met. I'm Knut's son.
- <Character name>: Busy?
- Skarti: Very, but thank you for joining me on such short notice. I'll be prompt.
- Skarti: My summoning you isn't without purpose: the Tyrian Alliance will begin soon.
- <Character name>: You mentioned. I don't know what that is.
- Skarti: I imagine not, as I've been tasked with extending the invitation to you myself. You were personally elected. Be proud.
- Skarti: The demons that terrorized us—they stirred something in the world, and not just fear. Hope. Something we lacked.
- Skarti: Leaders started talking. We've gotten more done in the last month than the last twenty years. Trade, rebuilding.
- Skarti: Here's your invitation. One came for each of us this morning.
- Skarti: The alliance is meeting in Lion's Arch. I'd head there sooner rather than later.
- If sylvari
- Firstborn Dagonet: Ah, you've arrived. Dagonet, should you not remember the face.
- <Character name>: A firstborn. The pleasure is mine. Have we crossed paths?
- Firstborn Dagonet: Briefly, at least. I was in Siren's Landing. Trahearne and I... We were great friends, once. I've carried on with his studies.
- Firstborn Dagonet: Your haste is appreciated. Our kind come and go from the Grove these days...
- Firstborn Dagonet: But we've no time to linger. We've business to discuss, Commander.
- Firstborn Dagonet: I would like to extend an invitation to the Tyrian Alliance. You've many allies in this world—a beaming reputation.
- <Character name>: Your letter mentioned as much. Sounds formal.
- Firstborn Dagonet: Formal indeed, and I'm not surprised. Our world's leaders haven't gotten together in a...long while.
- Firstborn Dagonet: Those beasts... The rotten walkers. They roused something in us. I only wish that rousing happened sooner.
- <Character name>: Ah, yes.
- Firstborn Dagonet: You've been elected to the council unanimously, as you seem to have been involved in... Well, quite a bit of this.
- Firstborn Dagonet: Not long from now we'll be meeting in Lion's Arch, in neutral territory.
- <Character name>: It sounds like the event of the century.
- Firstborn Dagonet: It very well might be. That is, until we face another world-ending disaster. Got a few of those left in you, I assume.
- Firstborn Dagonet: We've cowered beneath Mordremoth's shadow too long—and the wyrm is dead. Maturity is needed. For all of us.
- Firstborn Dagonet: Here's your invitation. Signed by the queen of Kryta.
Mail after talking[edit]
The Court of Queen Jennah, Regal of Kryta You Are Invited To the esteemed Pact Commander, It is with the highest respect that the founding committee of the Tyrian Alliance would like to invite you to join our organization of trust and dignity. We hoped for a brighter tomorrow after the passing of Soo-Won marked a new era for Tyria, but something pushed back on that hope when a series of demonic attacks left our people and our homes in peril. Although these attacks have recently waned, their source has not yet been discovered. And until it has, we are vulnerable. But from that vulnerability something else was born: awareness. Leaders started speaking with leaders; nations once impaired by archaic rivalries were suddenly allies, or on their way. Pain was shared as readily as food. After we survived the fight against the Elder Dragons, surely the next threat to rise in their place would not stop us. And it has not stopped us. As leaders talked, we realized that it was time again to try our hand at unity. Not all will agree, and we certainly have our critics, but peace isn't made overnight. Thus, the Tyrian Alliance was formed. Commander, you have been a constant glimmer of hope in times of ire. You've impacted each of our lives in immeasurable ways. It is for that reason you are invited to join us in Lion's Arch for a celebration of trust. The alliance may be new, but with time it will become something truly admirable and productive. For Tyria. For all of us. With support of the Tyrian Alliance's founding committee, |
Guild Initiative Headquarters instance[edit]
- Upon entering the instance
- If asura
- <Character name>: This should be fascinating.
- If charr
- <Character name>: Politics... (grumbles)
- If human
- <Character name>: Ready for anything.
- If norn
- <Character name>: Better be ale inside.
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: This should be interesting.
- Approaching the door
- Lionguard Lieutenant: Hold it— Name?
- Countess Anise: Commander, over here.
- Lionguard Lieutenant: Mm. That you are.
- Lionguard Lieutenant: Didn't recognize the face at first. Fought alongside you during Scarlet's attack.
- Lionguard Lieutenant: Go ahead. Don't mind me—just being cautious. Lot of big names in this building.
- <Character name>: It's a big job.
- Talking to Anise and Malice
- If asura
- <Character name>: Malice. Anise. You've assembled quite the crowd.
- If charr
- <Character name>: Malice. Anise. Could form a new warband.
- If human
- <Character name>: Malice. Anise. This thing is really shaping up, isn't it?
- If norn
- <Character name>: Malice. Anise. Heck of a party!
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: Malice. Anise. The roster is impressive.
- Malice Swordshadow: No less cramped than any of Ash's hidden outposts.
- Countess Anise: Delegates and leaders are still arriving, but the turnout is impressive. My surprise is agreeable.
- Malice Swordshadow: And nerve-racking.
- Countess Anise: Everyone is comforted that you're joining us. You command quite a bit of respect here; not all of us do the same.
- If asura
- <Character name>: Knew there was a catch.
- If charr
- <Character name>: Don't make me regret my decision.
- If human
- <Character name>: Here we go...
- If norn
- <Character name>: I'm not too surprised.
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: I don't know if that should make me nervous...
- Malice Swordshadow: You're modest.
- Countess Anise: Save the irascible demeanor for negotiations, Imperator.
- Countess Anise: Go on. Mingle. As soon as a few more arrive, we'll get started.
- Talking to Crecia
- Crecia Stoneglow: Commander. Good to see you.
- If asura
- <Character name>: Whole lot of people here.
- If charr
- <Character name>: Stuffy.
- If human
- <Character name>: Lot of big names in this crowd.
- If norn
- <Character name>: Quite the gathering.
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: Turning out to be quite the gathering, isn't it?
- Crecia Stoneglow: Certainly beats interrogations and trial preparations.
- <Character name>: Bangar?
- Crecia Stoneglow: Who else? We'll save that headache for opening remarks. I'm eager to put it behind us.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Hasn't made things easy, though. The Dominion lives; their numbers are just depleted.
- If asura
- <Character name>: But still a threat.
- If charr
- <Character name>: Traitors. All of them.
- If human
- <Character name>: I don't envy your workload.
- If norn
- <Character name>: Tails between their legs, no doubt.
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: Eager to hear more.
- Talking to Dougal Keane
- You here for the alliance meeting? It's downstairs.
- Are you not joining?
- Eh, letting them use the building is enough participation for me. Not huge on politics. But hey, I'm not arguing with the gifts they've brought. Canthan spices, dried fruit from Elona...
- Diplomacy has some tasty perks.
- More of a consolation prize than a perk. Hurry things along down there, will you?
- Will do, Dougal.
- Talking to Caithe and Dagonet
- If asura
- <Character name>: Caithe! What a surprise!
- If charr
- <Character name>: Caithe!
- If human
- <Character name>: Caithe! What are you doing here?
- If norn
- <Character name>: Caithe! How are you doing, old friend?
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: Sister! It's been far too long.
- Caithe: Commander, I'd heard you'd been invited. Glad to see you again.
- Firstborn Dagonet: Caithe is joining me as counsel. We've both a stake in seeing our people thrive after everything we've endured.
- If asura
- <Character name>: The sylvari have endured a lot.
- If charr
- <Character name>: Mordremoth was a monster.
- If human
- <Character name>: I empathize with your pain.
- If norn
- <Character name>: Sylvari resistance is the stuff of legend.
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: We have endured a lot of pain.
- <Character name>: How are you doing after Aurene?
- Caithe: Some days are melancholy, but she still guides me. I'm needed by my people; that has given me purpose.
- Firstborn Dagonet: That they do. Caithe has been vital in our pursuit of healing. We've all experienced a bit of an identity crisis after Maguuma.
- Firstborn Dagonet: We're well on our way, but we've problems to solve for yet.
- If asura
- <Character name>: Your resilience is quite inspiring.
- If charr
- <Character name>: You'll get there.
- If human
- <Character name>: Any step forward is a positive one.
- If norn
- <Character name>: We should all follow in your footsteps.
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: I've no doubt we'll overcome.
- Talking to Queen Jennah and Empress Ihn
- Empress Ihn: Hello again. It is a genuine pleasure to see a familiar face in unfamiliar lands.
- Queen Jennah: Welcome, Commander. I'm glad to finally have a meeting under less dire circumstances.
- <Character name>: An empress and a queen. Dangerous combination.
- Empress Ihn: Queen Jennah has been instrumental in Cantha's integration. I'm eager for these meetings to commence.
- Queen Jennah: All I've done is make introductions.
- Empress Ihn: With every trade organization and leader between the Shiverpeaks and the Unending Ocean. Such modesty!
- Empress Ihn: I'm hoping that today is productive, if not educational.
- Queen Jennah: The latter I can promise.
- Talking to Ayumi
- Commander! Goodness, how delightful it is to see you out in the world. Outside of Cantha! The smells, the sights...!
- It's good to see you too, Ayumi!
- It was an honor to join the empress here. As leader of the Kestrels, I've become somewhat of a...voice to the people of Cantha. Especially those who live outside the city.
- That's excellent. How has the recovery process been?
- Growing pains. There's still a thick line between developed Cantha and the rest of us—plenty of lingering anxiety surrounding jade tech, too. But Ihn has made it a priority to unite the empire.
- We all have to start somewhere.
- Talking to Braham and Skarti
- Braham Eirsson: Commander!
- If asura
- <Character name>: Braham! Thought I recognized the smell.
- If charr
- <Character name>: Braham. Healing I hope.
- If human
- <Character name>: Braham! What are— What happened.
- If norn
- <Character name>: At last, the Hero of Cragstead. You owe me a keg, Eirsson. No, make that ten.
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: Braham! He lives. And speaks!
- Skarti Knutsson: Braham is representing Cragstead, acting as my own advisor.
- If asura
- <Character name>: Oh? Did you get a second opinion?
- If charr
- <Character name>: Advising on what? Terrible haircuts?
- If human
- <Character name>: Braham? Your advisor. Someone died.
- If norn
- <Character name>: You could do a hell of a lot worse. You could also do a lot better...
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: Oh? I don't mean to gawk.
- Braham Eirsson: Gawk all you need. I went home for a while after...
- Braham Eirsson: The whole thing was an accident. One day I'm patching homesteads and caring for lone wolf pups, the next I'm...well, here.
- <Character name>: You? Leading an entire village? I'm impressed.
- Skarti Knutsson: He's modest. He proved to be the leader Cragstead needed, and irreplaceable while I've helped take on more for Knut.
- Skarti Knutsson: A natural leader, our boy.
- Braham Eirsson: Stop.
- <Character name>: I'm glad for you, Braham. Eir would be proud.
- Talking to Ludo
- If asura
- <Character name>: Given your lack of entourage, I suppose meeting with the council was a—ah—bust?
- All other races
- <Character name>: Councillor Ludo. That's a lot of paperwork for one asura.
- Councillor Ludo: Couldn't get a single one of those old sacks to put down the gavel and at least try to make friends.
- Councillor Ludo: Did send me with a giant pile of paperwork, though. That's what I'd like to call the "asuran hello."
- Councillor Ludo: Nonsense, most of it...
- Councillor Ludo: Cantha is revealed. And if not for copying asuran ingenuity, they'd still be decades behind... But we can't hide in our labs.
- If asura
- <Character name>: I'm sure the Arcane Council appreciates it... Probably.
- If charr
- <Character name>: Heh. Best work is always done in the field.
- If human
- <Character name>: Little competition never hurt anyone. Much.
- If norn
- <Character name>: If you want to lead, you have to get out in front.
- If sylvari
- <Character name>: Is that envy I detect?
- Councillor Ludo: I certainly do hope that you are correct.
- Talking to Captain Ellen Kiel
- Hey, I know you! Hahaha! Commander, it's a pleasure to see you doing well.
- Aren't you cheery, Kiel.
- Good mood. Feels nice to be manning an international affair versus fighting off dragon minions. Feels a little...normal, eh?
- Heh, yeah. Sure does.
- Well, let's hope it remains normal. Things like this tend to go sour.
- You never know, with these things.
- Talking to Spearmarshal Zaeim
- Ahai! That's a face I haven't seen in a few sunsets. Commander!
- Spearmarshal! What a pleasant face to see. Are you here with Imann?
- Zaeim, Commander. Drop the formality. It's nice seeing your neck of the woods, for a change. And yes, I'm here with Imann. The Sunspears have lent their expertise and protection to the Elonian delegation.
- You're a welcome face in this crowd, friend.
- Zaeim, Commander. Drop the formality. It's nice seeing your neck of the woods, for a change. And yes, I'm here with Imann. The Sunspears have lent their expertise and protection to the Elonian delegation.
- After taking your place at the podium
- Countess Anise: I, Countess Anise, liaison to Queen Jennah of Kryta, call all representatives of the Tyrian Alliance to council.
- Countess Anise: Please, to your places.
- Countess Anise: We've quite a bit to cover. First and foremost, the Pact and Orders send their regards. Structural changes have them occupied.
- Countess Anise: But with that aside, the founding members have come prepared with opening statements. Affirmations of why we're here.
- Countess Anise: As our mutually elected emissary, Commander, would you like to determine the order of operations?
- <Character name>: What qualifies me to make that call?
- Crecia Stoneglow: You've had a hand in just about everything Tyria has endured since the retaking of Claw Island. We approve.
- Firstborn Dagonet: I imagine the Pale Mother supports this notion.
- Councillor Ludo: Sure. Have at it.
- Deciding the next topic
- Decide on a topic for the delegation to discuss.
- Let's discuss the state of the sylvari.
- Firstborn Dagonet: I am Firstborn Dagonet. Caithe and I have ventured from the Grove to represent the sylvari.
- Firstborn Dagonet: The Pale Tree sends her regards. Her healing has been a slow process, but her spirits remain bright and focused on our growth.
- Firstborn Dagonet: Our people experienced a deep wound when Mordremoth rose. And fell. As a people, we have many questions.
- Firstborn Dagonet: About where we come from. What purpose we serve following the Elder Dragon's death. Who are we as a society?
- Firstborn Dagonet: Many have decided to leave our home in search of these answers. Finding direction and purpose—that is our focus.
- Firstborn Dagonet: As the Pale Tree heals, so do the rest of us.
- I'd like to hear updates on Bangar's trial.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Crecia. Imperator of the Blood Legion and elected representation from the charr.
- Crecia Stoneglow: I'd be lying if I said tensions weren't high at the citadel. With Bangar's trial nearing, another civil war isn't impossible.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Even behind bars, Bangar commands respect from his most loyal... Although weakened, the Dominion is still a threat.
- Crecia Stoneglow: However, the imperators are mostly aligned. Imperator Malice of the Ash Legion joins me today in support. Efram sends his.
- Crecia Stoneglow: You may have heard the whispers, but there are calls for another Khan-Ur to rise. The imperators don't disagree.
- Crecia Stoneglow: But the Trial of Embers will wait. Until we've decided Bangar's fate. That is our first priority.
- Let's hear about relations between Cantha and the asura.
- Councillor Ludo: Councillor Ludo of the Arcane Council. I'll keep it brief.
- Councillor Ludo: As you can observe, I am the only present representative from the council. We are experiencing growing pains.
- Councillor Ludo: Cantha's...prowess threw us for a loop. I may be alone in this thinking, but: about damn time.
- Councillor Ludo: For a long while, the council has lazily relied on asuran magitech superiority. We've become complacent; our research secondary.
- Councillor Ludo: I and a few others have been advocating for a more productive integration into the global sector.
- Councillor Ludo: No disrespect intended, but Cantha's advancements on our designs... Well, frankly, it's insulting. Our knowledge is still unmatched.
- Empress Ihn: An...interesting choice of words. Know that I enjoy competition. In fact, I encourage it.
- Councillor Ludo: As do I.
- Councillor Ludo: My first significant motion on the Arcane Council has been to eliminate any restrictions on admittance into the asuran colleges.
- Councillor Ludo: Our next focus will be on global equitable-information exchange.
- Councillor Ludo: That's all. For now.
- I'd like to discuss updates from the norn.
- Skarti Knutsson: I am Skarti, son of Knut Whitebear. Sends his best; old man just can't say no to a good brawl. Expected to heal just fine.
- Skarti Knutsson: Just as our people are healing... Unsure of how to approach the Spirits, how we can help them. If we can help them.
- Firstborn Dagonet: The sylvari share in your pain. The Pale Tree... That's been a process.
- Skarti Knutsson: Aye. Looking ahead has been our focus.
- Skarti Knutsson: Our scouting parties have returned to the far north to explore the villages and homesteads cut off from Hoelbrak for decades.
- Skarti Knutsson: We've also got eyes on the Sons of Svanir. Rather, what remains of them. Most fell with Jormag. Those that remain...
- Skarti Knutsson: Broken. Lost. If we can offer any rehabilitation, we will. But we won't welcome more violence to Hoelbrak.
- How is Canthan integration with Tyria going?
- Empress Ihn: Esteemed leaders. I am thankful to have met a few of you before. Queen Jennah has made many of these introductions.
- Empress Ihn: For those of you I have not met, I am Empress Ihn of Cantha.
- Empress Ihn: I was advised to send a liaison in my stead, but I wanted to show the face of the empire.
- Empress Ihn: Cantha's integration into Tyrian politics has not been swift or easy.
- Empress Ihn: But it is considered our greatest priority in the wake of the Elder Dragon event.
- Empress Ihn: Our people are largely united in wanting, but like all nations, an underbelly of resistance remains.
- Empress Ihn: However, I want to pull us from the murk and into the light.
- Empress Ihn: Cantha's technologies are vast—some might say superior—and I firmly believe that we offer something unique.
- Councillor Ludo: (grunts)
- Empress Ihn: And clearly share similar passions with our neighbors. Together, imagine what we could accomplish.
- Empress Ihn: While we are focused on diplomacy, we've had a secondary goal of enlisting archivists from across continents.
- Empress Ihn: Our libraries and history texts are woefully dated.
- Let's get straight to Queen Jennah's remarks. (This will skip all other topics.)
- Listening to Queen Jennah' s remarks
- Countess Anise: My queen?
- Queen Jennah: Thank you all for your remarks.
- Queen Jennah: We gather on mutual ground as allies. For some, friends.
- Queen Jennah: We suffered the Elder Dragons. We saw a new Elona and Cantha.
- Queen Jennah: We've endured much, but now, Tyria has the promise of tomorrow.
- Queen Jennah: The last decade was cruel, but standing united today shows promise that my father only dreamt of.
- Queen Jennah: However, it is not on kind terms that we gather. The alliance was formed as a reaction to a new threat.
- Queen Jennah: Almost a year ago now, demons attacked our villages and farmlands. Your cities and homes.
- Skarti Knutsson: Forty-eight dead in the mountains. An entire village burned to the ground.
- Firstborn Dagonet: One attacked the Grove.
- Councillor Ludo: Two, just outside the gates of Rata Novus. They stank.
- Queen Jennah: No casualties should be accepted.
- Queen Jennah: These attacks were calculated, I've heard. Our perpetrator: the Kryptis.
- Braham Eirsson: Kryptis?
- Skarti Knutsson: And what exactly are these Kryptis? Where did they come from?
- Councillor Ludo: The more pertinent question: how did the queen discern this information?
- Countess Anise: Tone.
- Empress Ihn: I've dealt with an emperor's hoard of petty banter, so I pivot: Queen Jennah, care to elaborate?
- Queen Jennah: The information is as novel to me as it is to the alliance.
- Councillor Ludo: I've heard rumors of your trustworthiness, Your Majesty.
- During the cutscene
- Countess Anise: No hyperbole until the queen has spoken.
- Unattributed muttering during the cutscene:
- I have questions.
- This isn't a tavern brawl.
- Kryptis?
- How does she know that?
- I need to confer with the elders—
- Queen Jennah: Enough—
- Isgarren: Enough.
- (Isgarren appears in a showmanlike fashion.)
- Isgarren: I see the triviality of Tyrian politics has not ceased its endless parade.
- Isgarren: Shall we have a mature discussion?
- Unattributed muttering during the cutscene:
- I'm not qualified to be here.
- Who is that...?
- Countess Anise: Introducing representation from the Astral Ward. Isgarren.
- Caithe: Isgarren...?
- After the cutscene
- Frode: I apologize for my friend's theatrics.
- Countess Anise: And Frode, Warden of the Astral Ward.
- Skarti Knutsson: What's going on? Jennah. Answers.
- Countess Anise: "Queen," if you wish to leave with all your limbs intact.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Calm, all of you.
- Crecia Stoneglow: (groans) And I thought the warbands needed babysitting.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Frode, was it?
- Frode: Indeed. Admittedly, I expected worse.
- Frode: Wayfinder. Under duress, as always.
- Crecia Stoneglow: Wayfinder...? Ah. Should've known you had a leg in this race.
- <Character name>: I'll try talking to them.
- Settling the delegates down
- Firstborn Dagonet: Commander, while I have certainly had my fair share of life-altering realizations, I'd still like to know what this is all about. Should I be concerned?
- No need for concern, Dagonet. The Astral Ward have much to offer the alliance.
- Commodore Lawson Marriner: Isgarren... I know that name from the people of Garenhoff. But what is going on? Kiel, call the Lionguard.
- No need for Lionguard. Isgarren and Frode come in peace. They'll explain.
- Empress Ihn: Isgarren is a seer, is he not? Navan has shared much of her...historical knowledge with me. I would not have expected that any seers still existed, let alone to have one appear right in front of us.
- Only one left. If you know of them, then you'll know he is here as an ally.
- Councillor Ludo: Kryptis, the Astral Ward, and a Seer? You know about all of this? AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?
- Who would I be to burden you further? Aren't you up to your ears in paperwork?
- Skarti Knutsson: Commander, who are these strangers barging in? I want answers. Now. Before my fists go looking for them.
- Calm, Skarti. They are friends. Hear them out, please.
- Chief Councilor Imann: I have a bad feeling about this. Who is he? Beings using such powerful and ancient magic have not historically boded well for the people of Elona.
- This time, the ancient being is on our side. Isgarren wants to help Tyria.
- Kalidris Sparrowhawk: Who is Isgarren? What is Isgarren? I have never seen one like him before. Is he the same as those Exalted who helped defend the aerie's walls from Jormag? They both float.
- Isgarren is a seer. Like the Exalted, though, he's here to help us.
- Speaking with Frode
- <Character name>: Ready as they'll ever be. Get to the point.
- Isgarren: They thrive on the brink of chaos.
- <Character name>: They've all endured enough trauma for a lifetime. Patience.
- Isgarren: If we're measuring trauma in lifetimes, they wouldn't compare.
- Retaking your place at the podium
- Frode: Thank you for allowing us the time to speak to you all today.
- Frode: I apologize for the...dramatic...entrance. Again, I am Frode of the Astral Ward.
- Skarti Knutsson: Frode... I've heard that name.
- Frode: The ward has been cloaked in shadow for centuries. Protecting you from threats unknown and unlike the Elder Dragons.
- Isgarren: The Kryptis.
- Malice Swordshadow: The source of our demon infestation, I take it?
- Frode: Beings of the Mists, who are...no longer a problem. Not right now.
- Frode: Our wayfinder—your commander—can speak to that.
- <Character name>: I joined their fight. The Kryptis have been...contained.
- Frode: I wouldn't be surprised if some still attempted to breach our realm, but they aren't organized.
- Queen Jennah: He speaks truth, as the commander can attest. Hesitant trust is advised.
- Queen Jennah: Isgarren revealed himself to me not long before he revealed himself to all of you.
- Isgarren: The Kryptis are harbingers of what may come next. From the Mists.
- Caithe: And you say they're no longer a threat, "Wayfinder?"
- <Character name>: I've been to their realm myself. They've been stabilized.
- Isgarren: When Soo-Won passed, Tyria's essence bled into the veil beyond. The Mists. You... We are no longer shielded by her power.
- Isgarren: Every eye turned toward us in that moment. And likely more; we glow brighter than we did before.
- Isgarren: Tyria is a unique world. Coveted by those beyond.
- Crecia Stoneglow: To summarize: our demons are Kryptis, and you two—the Astral Ward—are some sort of secret organization that fights them?
- Frode: Not just Kryptis, but any intruder from another realm.
- Firstborn Dagonet: We've certainly faced other threats that were not born of Tyria. Why didn't you reveal yourselves sooner?
- Empress Ihn: Or help us with the Elder Dragons?
- Isgarren: I will answer all of your questions, but this is not the right venue.
- Crecia Stoneglow: I'm inclined to agree. Whatever this information is, I gather it's sensitive in nature.
- Queen Jennah: I imagine the room needs a moment to reflect. Shall we pause and reconvene in smaller council?
- Isgarren: After our councils have ended, I will speak with any of you. Whatever questions you may have, I will try to answer them.
- After the group walked over to the fire
- Crecia Stoneglow: Commander, with us? We'd like to continue the conversation.
- Joining the others by the fire
- Firstborn Dagonet: So you've met before?
- Queen Jennah: Anise introduced us. Their friendship was just as much a surprise to me.
- Frode: We sought another ally ahead of the forum.
- Frode: We've known it was time to reveal ourselves to the world. Figured this would be better than a more public spectacle.
- Crecia Stoneglow: That inclination isn't wrong. Why now, though?
- Isgarren: The Kryptis may be controlled or contained, but my words should cause fear: Tyria is as blood in water.
- Malice Swordshadow: And what exactly is attracted to that blood?
- Isgarren: Any number of beasts and beings. I've no reason to think we're in imminent danger, but I suspect something draws closer.
- Frode: And we all need to prepare. The Astral Ward is ready to help in any way we can.
- Firstborn Dagonet: So you've numbers, then?
- Frode: Some. Fewer, after the Kryptis. We bled on the edge of that blade.
- Crecia Stoneglow: What do you propose we do?
- Isgarren: Focus on your affairs. We'll get nowhere without some degree of control. Your nations are fragile, still. Heal; nourish.
- Queen Jennah: We'll be establishing pacts with our neighbors. I suggest you do the same.
- Firstborn Dagonet: Wise.
- Frode: On that subject, I'd like to offer some information on the Isle of Janthir.
- Countess Anise: Janthir... A storm looms over that place. Blood. That is not a territory I wish to cross.
- Frode: I don't expect you to, but we may find more allies throughout those lands. The lowland kodan.
- Queen Jennah: My father spoke of them briefly. He left their territory untouched. Those are bonds I have not maintained.
- Countess Anise: I imagine there's more to this suggestion, Isgarren.
- Isgarren: We should speak within thicker walls, yes.
- Frode: Wayfinder, I don't think anyone here would be better equipped to help form these bonds.
- Frode: You are not only a representative of the Astral Ward, but of Tyria. Look around this room; take it in.
- Crecia Stoneglow: I could support that notion, yes.
- Isgarren: Utilize Moon Camp; it's only kicking up dust otherwise. We'll send ward to your aid. All your aid.
- Isgarren: The ward will establish a gateway between our outpost and the human city. With the queen's blessing.
- Queen Jennah: Blessing granted. I support this—and you, Commander. Now is the time to fortify. The countess will meet you in Divinity's Reach.
- Checking in with Chief Councilor Imann
- Chief Councilor Imann: My people have recently begun early exploration of Dzalana. The Dragonbrand is weakening, all these years later.
- Chief Councilor Imann: Dangerous place... Rampant with harpies—I don't see them helping us. Perhaps the heket?
- Braham Eirsson: I've only been to the ruins of Fahranur, parts of Kourna. I should visit more of Elona.
- Braham Eirsson: When you call Dzalana dangerous, what do you mean?
- Chief Councilor Imann: You've been to the best tourist attractions, at least. You should visit.
- Chief Councilor Imann: Dzalana is...taxing. Harpies are dominant, which makes it hostile territory. But my people used to hide in the mountains.
- Chief Councilor Imann: We have records and rumors of temples. Settlements. I don't know if anything waits for us there, but it's worth looking.
- Skarti Knutsson: Sounds like the greater north. Homesteads long displaced by Jormag's storm. No telling if there are any survivors.
- Chief Councilor Imann: We defeat the Elder Dragons and this is our reward. The scraps of what used to be.
- Checking in with Empress Ihn and Councilor Ludo
- Councilor Ludo: Look at them over there. Can I assume they're scheming?
- Empress Ihn: No, Councilor. Assumptions are, very often, incorrect. We'll have plenty of time to ask our questions.
- Empress Ihn: And I have some for you, as we were tasked. Before the Arcane Council, my research says that you were the "Dean of Statics"?
- Councilor Ludo: I am the Dean of Statics. If I dedicated all of my time to the council, my brain would melt and drip onto the floor.
- Empress Ihn: Talented and busy. You remind me of my sister.
- Empress Ihn: Say, you and I should plan a visit. We're supposed to be making friends, after all. I would love to host you in our labs.
- Empress Ihn: I'm very curious to see how they stand up to such a precise eye.
- Councilor Ludo: If they stand. I would love to give you my assessment, Empress. And I'm also happy to waive my consultation fees in good faith.
- Caithe: Good faith, indeed. I see you two are getting along.
- Checking in with Crecia and Malice
- Crecia Stoneglow: I've witnessed cleaner executions.
- Malice Swordshadow: Crecia. Think I'm going with the commander to Janthir. I feel a professional pull.
- Malice Swordshadow: I've little intel on that location or these kodan, and it feels vital. Or intriguing, at least.
- Crecia Stoneglow: An imperator leaving her post to get her claws dirty...? Care to steal my mate, too?
- Crecia Stoneglow: (laughs) Go. Be our eyes. I can cover for us.
- Malice Swordshadow: I'll see you there, Commander.
