Walkthrough[edit]

Reveal Waiting Sorrow's true identity to Stoic Alder.

Speak with Sorrow, then Alder, and then Sorrow twice more.

Stop Greer from siphoning power from the bloodstone.

You can mount up on the warclaw while still in combat, just keep in mind that if you're still in combat when dismounting the mounts will all be placed on a 15 second cooldown. For the following fights, the advice are the same as earlier fights: avoid standing under Decima as she likes to cast a lightning field underneath herself that causes heavy damage, and for Greer simply try to not stand in front of him and bring some good Condition removal skill.

The first objective is to bring both titans to half health: first fight Decima and bring her to 70%, then mount up and harpoon her and run the chain around some cliffs, then bring her down to 50%. Destroy the bloodstone shard and take cover in Waiting Sorrw's protective bubble as it detonates. Repeat the same process with Greer.

After this you'll be bouncing between bosses. Plant 3 seeds given by Poised Arrow around Greer to break his shield and bring him to 30%, then plant 3 lightning rods around Decima and beat her down to 30%. Repeat the process until both bosses are down to 10%.

Attempt to follow the two titans through the pass, and when that fails speak to Waiting Sorrow instead to complete the mission.

Dialogue[edit]

Homestead[edit]

Go over the plan of attack with your allies.
Waiting Sorrow: Wayfinder.
Poised Arrow: You okay, Sorrow?
Malice Swordshadow: Focus. Let's go over the plan.
Malice Swordshadow: They keep regrouping and healing, so killing them both in rapid succession is our best bet. Decima is weak—
Poised Arrow: Wait. Paw's here.
Waiting Sorrow: (breathes)
<Character name>: Did you...? Does he know?
Waiting Sorrow: No. But let him in. It's not my place to stand between the Claw and his son.
Go outside and talk to Stoic Alder.
<Character name>: Come on in, Stoic Alder. Poky's inside.
Stoic Alder: If my son's involved, so am I.
Stoic Alder: Aurora...?
Waiting Sorrow: Stoic Alder.
Stoic Alder: Wayfinder. I'm confused. Poky...?
Listen as Waiting Sorrow comes clean to Stoic Alder about her identity.
Stoic Alder: Aurora, what happened? I assumed you were... I assumed you were dead.
Waiting Sorrow: No, but I did remember something that I'd long forgotten: glimpses of my people. Someone I left behind long ago.
Waiting Sorrow: My name is Waiting Sorrow. I am not who you believed me to be.
Stoic Alder: So you spoke falsehoods?
Waiting Sorrow: I told you a small fragment of a long-ago truth. But my experiences in your village were very real.
Stoic Alder: And you knew about this, son?
Poised Arrow: Only a few moons longer than you, Paw. She is our Fading Aurora, just...stronger.
Stoic Alder: And magical. The air in this room has never felt so opaque.
Poised Arrow: Yes, but it's how she uses her magic. Not foul and evil like the strangers. She only helps. I was anxious, too—
Waiting Sorrow: Little Claw. I don't need your defense.
Waiting Sorrow: I would never let anything happen to him, Stoic Alder. I was content in living my life as a healer in your village...
Waiting Sorrow: But when Poky's like was jeopardized... Let's set this discussion aside. The titans live and thrive.
Waiting Sorrow: Trust me long enough to end this fight. To keep him safe. Whatever trial you need can happen after. I'm due more than one.
Stoic Alder: Do you plan on fighting, too?
Poised Arrow: I do.
Stoic Alder: Sometimes I think I've forgotten her voice, your mother. But just now, I heard her laugh...
Stoic Alder: I will fight alongside my son. For my people. But this discussion is not done, Waiting Sorrow.
Check in with Waiting Sorrow.
<Character Name: How are you doing?
Waiting Sorrow: You know well the trail of disappointment I lay. But I've never yearned for forgiveness more than with them.
<Character Name: After we end this, we can have those conversations.
Waiting Sorrow: After we end this, Isgarren will tear my soul from my core and trap it in an echo.
If asura
<Character Name: Past his prime. We'll stick him in an old krewe's home.
If charr
<Character Name: He's old. You know what we do to charr past their prime? Give them a desk job.
If norn
<Character Name: He's old. Before long, all he'll want to do is cozy up in front of a fire with some ale.
If sylvari
<Character Name: He's old. I can't pretend to relate
Waiting Sorrow: Ha. I like you.
Waiting Sorrow: I'm old, too. And I'm tired of running.
Optional character dialogue.
<Character Name> Are you ready for this?
Malice Swordshadow: Ready? If you handed me a knife right now, I might start swinging it.
Malice Swordshadow: (scoffs) Yeah. I'm ready to kill a few titans.
Malice Swordshadow: It would be an offense to everything Almorra sacrificed if we didn't.
Caithe: As soon as Aurene went to sleep, I couldn't feel her. No more warmth whenever she woke or heartbeat when she flew.
Caithe: It took me a while to get used to that. Missing her. But I have now, I think. I've made peace with it.
Caithe: If only our girl saw us now. Fighting a titan! (chuckles) She'd be upset that we were risking our lives.
Caithe: But don't let me bore you with prebattle musings. Moments like these make one prone to reflection, and I have a lot to reflect on.
Poised Arrow: Paw's upset. He thinks himself better at hiding it than he really is. But I've also gotten better at noticing...
Poised Arrow: "This discussion is not done." Heard that one plenty of times. Just feels wrong when he says it to her.
Poised Arrow: He's sweet on her. Don't know if you picked up on it, but I did right away!
Poised Arrow: Of all my mentors, she's the only one that really stuck. Paw noticed my improvements. Then he noticed her.
Poised Arrow: She'd even make him laugh! More than I could! Happiest I'd seen him since...well, in a long time.
Poised Arrow: These strangers messed everything up! Need to beat their sorry hinds for good!
Poised Arrow: The village will be safe, and Paw will see the good in Sorrow's magic. And they can go back to being all sickly smitten.
Poised Arrow: That first go-round with the strangers was just a warm-up. This time, I'm ready.
Stoic Alder: Last we spoke, you'd stoked in me a firestorm on my son's behalf. How quickly you've fallen down my list of concerns.
Stoic Alder: And how I wish that weren't the case...
Stoic Alder: I may not look the type to be swept away by emotion's flurries, but I must be careful when I allow my heart to open...
Stoic Alder: And to whom.
Stoic Alder: Though I've learned this much to be true: no one is ever quite who we believe them to be.
Stoic Alder: Still, that rare soul may come around who we're willing to stake our trust on, hoping they come close.
Stoic Alder: But this discrepancy I find before me is one I could have never prepared for.
Stoic Alder: Instead, I find myself standing on the precipice of battle. My son at my side, preparing to fight...
Stoic Alder: Same as his mother before him.

Sulfuring Springs[edit]

Stoic Alder: You've an advantage over me, Son. What should I except, fighting a titan?
Poised Arrow: Might. And power. The strangers are unlike anything we've faced. No beast from the mountain compares.
Waiting Sorrow: Never mind how they perform together. Decima and Greer are more calculated than I've come to except from their kind.
Caithe: But at six, we do outnumber them...
Malice Swordshadow: After you. Wayfinder.
<Character name>: This'll earn us one heck of an after-party.
Greer, the Blighbringer: Decima, they slither toward us with venom on fang! I welcome yourself.
Decima, the Stormsinger: All I see is another opportunity to turn breathing flesh to paste. I welcome them.
Stoic Alder: What...are they?
Waiting Sorrow: (growls) They're siphoning energy from the bloodstone. Atack Decia while Greer is out of reach.
Malice Swordshadow: Look! Her armor is cracking!
Poised Arrow: Wayfinder, pull it off with your journeykin!
Malice Swordshadow: Commander, think you can trip her up on your warclaw?
Decima, the Stormsinger: (screams)
Waiting Sorrow: These she is. Now! With all the strength you can muster!
Decima, the Stormsinger: Ah, I can't...
Greer, the Blighbringer: Back, Sister, back! You'll be turned to scree if your willfulness moves your legs before your mind can catch up.
Waiting Sorrow: This is our chance... Wayfinder, use the Heart of the Obscure! Just like before!
Waiting Sorrow: The bloodstone is about to surge! Come to me!
Decima, the Stormsinger: (breathes)
Poised Arrow: We gotta keep pushing! While they're weak!
Greer, the Blighbringer: I will compensate for the delusion of my kin. Your "bloodstone" ripples through my every essence.
Decima, the Stormsinger: Greer!
Caithe: There's our opening! Use your warclaw to rip his armor away!
Malice Swordshadow: You know what to do, Commander! Bring him down.
Greer, the Blighbringer: (gasps)
Stoic Alder: Atack! Now!
Waiting Sorrow: The Heart of the Obscure! Wayfinder, use it now!
Waiting Sorrow: The bloodstone! Behind me, everyone!
Greer, the Blighbringer: Their emotional fortifications will end us if we don't rip that hope directly from their coiled fingers...
Decima, the Stormsinger: Together. We'll crush them beneath us; pull their bodies through the Mists until nothing remains but essence and memory.
Stoic Alder: Rot pours from him. Are we safe...?
Poised Arrow: Did I bring enough...? Yes! Wayfinder! Take these. Waiting Sorrow and I sprouted them together. They'll grow fast.
Stoic Alder: Magic?
Poised Arrow: Good magic. Please, Father. Trust me.
Stoic Alder: It worked. His strength wavers.
Poised Arrow: See? Atack now, while there's an opening!
Decima, the Stormsinger: I'll strike your cities next.
Poised Arrow: Do you have any more lightning rods?
<Character name>: Yes! I'll set them up; you distract the titans.
Decima, the Stormsinger: No! No! No!
Stoic Alder: Attack! Now!
Greer, the Blighbringer: Foolish tricks will only speed your march to death!
Waiting Sorrow: Poky, do we have any more sprouts?
Poised Arrow: We do-plenty! Here!
Malice Swordshadow: There's our opening. Make it count.
Greer, the Blighbringer: Decima, be more thoughtful with your energy.
Decima, the Stormsinger: Your hesitation will get us killed.
<Character name>: They're on the back foot. Just a few more lightning rods and we'll overhelm them.
Caithe: Now!
Ura: To me, godspawn. Do not let your stubbornness and lust for dominion win.
Waiting Sorrow: Poky, behind me.
Stoic Alder: Another...?
Greer, the Blighbringer: Ura.
Ura: Decima. Come.
Decima, the Stormsinger: Yes, godspawn.
<Character name>: Don't let them escape. Greer and Decima are weak.
<Character name>: (groans)
Ura: I think not. But spill no tear; your bravery is excellent.
<Character name>: What... Who are you?
Ura: We are all godspawn, but I am Ura. And I am stronger than my stock.
Ura: I've looked foolish in the eye; I see none behind yours. Retreat, and so shall we.
<Character name>: (grunts)
Caithe: Commander, orders?
Ura: Be wise.
<Character name>: Stand down. We stand down.
Poised Arrow: No! We can defeat them. With two nearing death, what's another going to cost us?
Stoic Alder: Poised Arrow, no. That cost could be our lives.
Ura: Good.
Ura: Greer. Decima. Come.
Discuss with your allies
<Character name>: A third titan...
Waiting Sorrow: We need to get out of here. Now. This could be a trick.
Poised Arrow: We need to chase them! Greer and Decima are week. We can do it.
Waiting Sorrow: We know nothing about Ura. We need to retreat.
Malice Swordshadow: Trust me, kid, I want to rip their legs off and watch those things writhe... (sighs) But I'm tired. Don't know if I'll last long.
Caithe: We'll regroup and plan our next attack. We all need rest.
Stoic Alder: I'll take you back to the village. Our minds are thick with fog... It's not time to make decisions. We rest.
Poised Arrow: (grumbles)
Stoic Alder: Poky.
Poised Arrow: Yeah.

My Story[edit]

File:Homestead loading screen.jpg

I headed back to the homestead to meet with the rest of the group, who were waiting for me inside. Waiting Sorrow grew tense when I entered, knowing well that I carried a secret in my pocket that could complicate her situation even further. But Malice immediately jumped to the point: the titans could be on the back foot. Attacking now, while they were recovering from our prior encounters, should be the top priority. Before we could strategize further, Poky pulled our attention away. Stoic Alder walked up to the door, and Waiting Sorrow needed to decide on a story. Fast.

It's not our place to stand between a kodan Claw and his son, so Waiting Sorrow nodded for me to usher him inside. This conversation was inevitable. He immediately looked to her, clearly confused; to him, in that moment, Fading Aurora was alive. Thankfully, Waiting Sorrow chose fairness and revealed her identity. Alder was understandably distraught—even more than Poky was. The kid stepped in to defend Sorrow's choices. He tried to assure his father that their Aurora still stood with them, and that Waiting Sorrow is no danger, but the Claw was clearly struggling with the news. He was betrayed. His son's life was jeopardized... And we still have a couple of titans to kill.

Unfortunately, now is not the time to dwell. Alder, while still distraught, also recognized the fleeting opportunity to resolve our mutual plight. He offered to join his son in battle, if only to make sure that his people and Poky were safe. But his discussion with Waiting Sorrow is not done. That is another inevitability.

I checked in with Sorrow and the others before heading out; her guilt sat heavily on her shoulders. She knows it's time to talk to Alder...and Isgarren. No more hiding. Just have a couple of titans to kill between now and then.

***

We headed toward the mountain pass, where we suspected Greer and Decima were hiding. Malice, Caithe, Waiting Sorrow, Stoic Alder, and Poky readied themselves for the fight.

The titans hovered near a bloodstone, as we predicted—they desperately needed healing. We attacked Decima first, who stood between us and the bloodstone, while Greer fed from a safe distance. Once we weakened her enough, we were able to neutralize the bloodstone by using the Heart of the Obscure—just like we practiced! The explosion, albeit contained, was just enough to interrupt Greer.

***

Irate with our disruption, Greer flung himself into the arena to attack us next while Decima scuttled away to feast on another bloodstone. We exhausted Greer enough to interrupt Decima's feeding, and by utilizing tactics we learned throughout our encounters, we slowly chipped away at their armor until they were both weak and looking for an escape.

***

With the bloodstone neutralized and the titans weak, the battle was ours to win. Or so we thought...

Before we could land the final blows, a third voice roared over the horizon, halting us and rallying our opponents. She called herself Ura, and thus the third titan had revealed herself. While Decima was hesitant to exit the fight, Greer relaxed at the sound of Ura's voice. She commanded the two of them to flee, and they did, with little protest. I leapt to pursue them, but Ura raised a steam wall, blocking our path forward. Poky roared for us to charge forward, and all of my instincts agreed, but Waiting Sorrow and Stoic Alder urged caution. We don't know what Ura is capable of; it could be a trick. I made the hard call to stand down and regroup.
