Dialogue[edit]
Diessa Plateau[edit]
- At Charrgate Haven, asura Lionguard
- I can tell from your expression this is either your first time to see Charrgate Haven, or your first time to see an asura.
- What do you mean?
- I know the Lionguard has a reputation as enforcers, but someone's got to be the brains behind the brawn. It only makes sense to enlist the brainiest race in this brawny world for the job, right?
- I guess so. Back to work, then.
- At Charrgate Haven, sylvari Lionguard
- Greetings, friend. You're probably wondering why one of us sylvari would join an organization like the Lionguard.
- As a matter of fact—
- Because we are of the land, we bring a certain tranquility and sense of curiosity to the someone unquestioning Lionguard. Just as we bring a sense of wonder to the world at large.
- Thanks for making that clear.
- At Charrgate Haven, norn Lionguard
- Have you seen the cattlepult yet? Everybody's talking about it.
- What's a cattlepult?
- Think about it: What's the first casualty of war? Food delivery service. Especially when you're in a castle under siege. But there's an inventor who's working on a way to deliver fresh food by air.
- Where is this inventor?
- Southeast of here, past Moorwatch Tower. They say that once you get close enough, you can hear the giddy mooing of blissful cows in flight.
- Show me on my map.
- Everybody but me. Good-bye.
- At Charrgate Haven, charr Lionguard
- Welcome to Charrgate Haven—where the food is edible, the water is potable, and the Lionguard are rough and tumble.
- What's to do around here?
- For fun, you could check out the festival at Butcher's Block. Or, if you're looking for something only slightly more dangerous, you could go engage those pesky Separatists loitering around Ebonhawke.
- Festival?
- Meatoberfest! Rowr! It's the highlight of the season. Meat and ale. Then, ale and meat. Then, naptime for the elderly and unconscious, which means even more meat and ale for the rest of us!
- What's that about Separatists?
- Humans opposed to the cease fire between the charr legions and their queen bee. They think they're special, rebelling against their leaders. If they were charr, they'd be dead charr.
- I don't know where to start - the eating or the beating.
- Separatists?
- Humans opposed to the cease fire between the charr legions and their queen bee. They think they're special, rebelling against their leaders. If they were charr, they'd be dead charr.
- And what's the festival at Butcher's Block?
- Rowr! It's the highlight of the season. Meat and ale. Then, ale and meat. Then, naptime for the elderly and unconscious, which means even more meat and ale for the rest of us!
- Eating or beating. Tough decision.
- I appreciate the information.
- Decisions, decisions. I appreciate your tourguidery.
- Sounds like my kind of town. I'll have a look around.
Gendarran Fields[edit]
- After completing Stop the pirates from stealing buried treasure in Newbeach Bluffs
- Looks like they were searching for this chest. I suppose it's yours now.
- Great.
- At Junction Haven, during Protect the Lionguard while they clear the road
- A caravan bound for Lion's Arch was supposed to check in with me an hour ago. I need to find out why it's late, but I can't leave my post. Can you investigate this for me?
- I can help you. Where should I start looking?
- Follow the road north toward Winter haven. Watch your step. There are dredge and ettins in the area, and they enjoy picking off travelers.
- Thanks for the warning. I'll see what I can find.
- No, thanks, I'm not interested.
Kessex Hills[edit]
- At Giant's Passage
- Have you recovered any of the stolen supplies?
- Yes, here they are. only if you are holding Lion's Arch Supplies
- Thank you very much. The citizens of Overlake appreciate your help.
- Good-bye.
- Not at the moment.
Lion's Arch[edit]
- At Bloodcoast Ward, female human Lionguard
- It's a brand-new day in Lion's Arch.
- So it is.
- At Bloodcoast Ward, male human Lionguard
- You're looking no worse for wear. Glad to see it.
- Thanks.
Metrica Province[edit]
- At Arterium Haven
- I concernedly await the day that the Inquest realizes that majorly sabatoging the havens will halt a number of supply shipments to the labs.
- Don't they need supplies too?
- Yes, but I wouldn't put it past them to do it anyway. Their priorities are somewhat skewed.
- I expect they are.
- Let's hope it's not for awhile.
- If you're traveling the Lion Road, take care to stop at the havens occupying the path. They exist for your safety, and you might learn of news and dangers facing you up the road.
- Thanks.
- Growing up in Lion's Arch, I though I could handle anything. But Hylek stealing food and supplies are not the same as pirates stealing jewelry.
- Seems like they'd be easier to catch.
- In theory, sure. They're not very sneaky. There are just so many of them, and they attack us constantly. And the things they're stealing are vital to the haven's success.
- Have you always had trouble with the hylek?
- Not always, and it's only one tribe that's causing us problems now. But these havens protect the Lion Road, and without them people can't travel in safety. Which means no safe trade routes.
- Then this needs to be fixed fast.
- Sounds like a problem.
- I bet that's true.
Southsun Cove[edit]
- At Pride Point
- Every time I come here, I get sentry duty on the boat. I haven't even set foot on the island I'm protecting. Have one of those karka egg omelets for me, okay?
- You got it.
Wayfarer Foothills[edit]
- At Twinspur Haven, female norn Lionguard
- Welcome to the Twinspur Haven. It's pretty quiet here, but there's still good fighting and drinking to be found.
- Fighting?
- The Sons of Svanir live to the north, and you'll find grawl to the east. There's also a dredge mine to the west.
- Sons of Svanir?
- There's a large corrupt settlement to the north. Look for the tainted, spikey ice.
- You mentioned other foes?
- Thanks for the information.
- Grawl?
- They don't have the strength to attack the haven, but they do harass the settlers around here. They smell funny, too.
- You mentioned other foes?
- Thanks for the information.
- Dredge?
- We used to trade with the dredge, but they've closed off all access to their mines. It doesn't stop more ambitious miners from raiding their stores.
- You mentioned other foes?
- Thanks for the information.
- Thanks for the information.
- Drinking?
- Hamar's[sic] lodge is far north of here. We're pretty friendly, though, so you should feel free to stop at any of the lodge around here.
- You mentioned fighting?
- Thanks, I'll have to check it out.
- No time right now.
- At Twinspur Haven, male norn Lionguard
- Well, hello there. I don't meet many of your kind, but I'm... Open minded. Know what I mean?
- I think I need a drink.
- Now I want to punch something.
- Take your pick: Sons of Svanir, grawl, or dredge. And of course there's plenty of wildlife.
- Sons of Svanir?
- There's a large settlement of them north of here. Look for the patches of corruption.
- Thanks for the information.
- Grawl?
- The tribes to the east are always causing trouble. They're not much of a fight, though.
- Thanks for the information.
- Dredge?
- We like to raid their mine to the west to obtain high quality ore.
- Thanks for the information.
- Thanks for the information.
Historical dialogue[edit]
- In Lion's Arch during the Festival of the Four Winds 2014
- You should've heard the cheering when Scarlet's death was announced. Everyone hollered until they were hoarse. Best sound I've ever heard.
- I can imagine.
- In destroyed Lion's Arch, before reconstruction
- First squatters, then looters, and now gawkers. You came to see Lion's Arch reduced to rubble, right?
- What are you talking about?
- Scarlet pounded Lion's Arch flat before we cornered and killed her. Since then, we get tourists who want to gape at the ruin-
- And the squatters and the looters?
- Damned headaches. The squatters don't want to leave, even though the city's uninhabitable. The looters, they're nothing more than grave robbers.
- So, if I wanted to visit Lion's Arch, what should I know?
- Don't squat; don't loot. And watch yourself. What's left of the city isn't safe, and we don't have the healers on hand to fix clumsy tourists.
- Understood.
- Good-bye.
- Good-bye.
- I'll be going.
Trivia[edit]
- One Lionguard, walking with the "Devil" during Halloween, can be seen being followed by the Mini Zuzu, Cat of Darkness.
