| When Alexei rescued Deborah from the centaurs, it was not clear that anything had changed. Deborah herself was unaware of any changes, until much later, after Alexei left to rejoin the fight against Mordremoth. Voices reemerged, voices that she had heard only during her captivity, as she lay weakened, nearing the veil of the Mists.
She learned to channel powers from the Mists themselves, crossing over to war against invaders from other realms using the abilities of legends from the past. Just as her brother defends the world of Tyria from the corrupted armies of the dragons, so does she defend it from armies of foes within the Mists.
