Dialogue[edit]
Marshal Trahearne Your Presence Is Requested TO: Commander <Character name> We're planning our assault on Mordremoth at Camp Resolve, our new staging area in the Silverwastes. The time has come for all to stand and deliver, and I would like you to assist with our preparations here. I have a specific mission for you, if you're game. The Seraph of Kryta have secured a new route to our staging area through Fort Vandal. Evidence suggests the bandits hastily abandoned the location recently. The guards posted there may know more. Please journey safely. The increased Mordrem activity is making travel especially dangerous.—Trahearne |
- Speaking to the Seraph Scout in Vandal Claim
- Watch where you step. Something odd is afoot.
- I don't know if I can take you seriously after that pun.
- Accidental, I swear! You really ought to watch yourself. Something here caused the Triad to vacate Fort Vandal. Good for us, maybe. Unless what scared them off was worse.
- What are you thinking?
- The fort was abandoned so fast the Triad hardly had time to collect their notes. Vines were scattered all over. Place looked an awful lot like what happened at Fort Salma and Concordia.
- So you think Mordremoth has attacked, or will attack, this fort?
- Maybe it started to. But whatever it was interested in is gone now. Either way, step lightly. Seraph are on their way to secure the fort.
- All right. Thanks.
- All right.
- Entering the instance at Camp Resolve (in-game cutscene)
- Trahearne: Find a place to lay those maps out. And get me a couple of charcoal sticks to mark them with.
- Priory Scholar: At once, sir!
- Trahearne: Has anyone heard from Commander Frostgullet? She's late!
- Whispers Agent: She's dealing with a problem on her ship, Marshal. The engines need maintenance.
- Trahearne: Tell her to get someone else to do that. I need her here.
- Whispers Agent: Right away.
- Approaching Trahearne
- Vigil Crusader: Marshal, I have news.
- Trahearne: How are things progressing?
- Vigil Crusader: The northwest is overrun with Mordrem and strangling vines. The troops need reinforcements.
- Trahearne: Tell Commander Quentyn to ready his ship.
- Vigil Crusader: Yes sir.
- Trahearne: Everyone disperse. The commander and I need to talk.
- Pact Soldier: Yes, Marshal.
- Pact Soldier: Everybody out! C'mon. Move it!
- Trahearne: While they're dispersing, let me fill you in on what's been happening since the summit.
- Trahearne: I took what you said to heart. The fleet's arriving gradually, and we're preparing to take the fight to Mordremoth.
- Trahearne: The cities have all sent troops to fight with us, and we've begun preliminary forays into the surrounding area.
- Trahearne: I've contacted your friends from Destiny's Edge, and they've all agreed to join the battle. All but Rytlock Brimstone.
- Trahearne: I couldn't reach him, and none of the others know where that portal took him, either.
- Trahearne: We're gathering as much information as we can on the enemy before we launch the main assault.
- Trahearne: We definitely need someone with your skills, so I'm glad you're with us.
- Talking to Trahearne
- Thank you for coming on such short notice. I thought you might be busy with post-summit diplomatic concerns.
- Right now, the Pact is high on my priority list.
- I'm glad. This staging base is our launch point for an early attack on Mordremoth.
- Before the dragon gets too strong?
- Exactly. We're fortifying as quickly as we can. We believe Mordremoth is west of here or south, perhaps. Its jungle seems to be spreading eastwards.
- You have a mission for me?
- I have a mission. I have a squad missing.
- Missing?
- They were on a scouting mission, and they should have been back last night, but they didn't return. There are two non-Pact with them.
- Who are they?
- Our friend Caithe and a diplomat sent here by the Krytan government to investigate the situation. His name is Canach. Both are very capable, but they may be outnumbered.
- Canach. Hm.
- We need to look for them and see if they need reinforcements. Would you be willing to lead that mission?
- I'll head out as soon as I'm prepared.
- You're putting the other dragons on hold?
- No choice. Mordremoth is the most imminent threat, as you proved. The others are quiet for now, probably happily soaking up our magic. But they're awake, and that means they could erupt at any time.
- Are you ready for Mordremoth? We lost so many fighting Zhaitan.
- To be honest, I'm not sure, but I'm preparing as best I can. We're somewhat more ready than you and I were when we went after Zhaitan.
- Caladbolg worked on Risen lieutenants, but will it work on Mordrem?
- We have to find out sooner or later. I'm inclined to make a bold move while it's newly awakened. That's why I need you and your knowledge of these things. The more we know, the better prepared we are.
- Although I know a lot about them, there's more to learn.
- Primordus has been awake for over two hundred years. Jormag for nearly as long. They both did great damage at first, sending out their minions. This is the stage where Mordremoth is now.
- The minions. I get it. You want to slow down its production of minions.
- Yes. Slow down or, if we get lucky, stop it entirely. Now, before its corruption spreads too far and wide.
- What do you need to make that happen? (continues like "You have a mission for me?")
- Talking to Trahearne again
- (if sylvari)
- Have you heard anything from our mother? Is she recovering? I've been so worried.
- I believe she's still in danger. Her mind...was damaged.
- Mordremoth. The Elder Dragon that spreads mental corruption. Our poor mother. This feeds my desire to stop this Elder Dragon in its tracks. It will know the burn of my wrath.
- Do not leave caution behind in your hurry to take revenge.
- No. No, of course, you're right. I have too many lives in my hands. Thank you for being the voice of reason. I occasionally fall victim to my rage.
- I understand. I'm angry too and just as determined to destroy Mordremoth.
- I'll confess. This particular dragon inspires a dread in my heart that none other has. I've never felt so personally attacked. That it would go after her... It's unforgivable.
- That's what fuels my strength. Let it also fuel yours. We'll be victorious.
- Yes, thank you. We've perhaps not seen worse than this but we have come through much together. I beg you to be careful out there. Our Mother Tree needs you. We all need you.
- I'll be careful. You'll have my report soon. Good-bye, Marshal.
- (if not sylvari)
- What you did at the summit will go down in history, hopefully as the turning point in the war against the dragons. I didn't think I could respect you more than I did, but after that speech...
- I merely spoke from my heart and experience. Our only chance is to unite.
- Some mornings, I awake, and for a moment, I'm afraid that when I look out the window I'll see the world destroyed. That view is so clear in my head. That's the most desolate feeling I've ever had.
- You carry a great weight on your shoulders.
- As do you, <Character name>. This is one thing we have had in common from the beginning. Such responsibility.
- Speaking of which, I'd better go find that missing squad.
- Speaking to Braham
- Hey. I saw you meeting with Trahearne. What did he want? Do you have to do things with the Pact?
- Marshal Trahearne is requesting my help to find a missing squad.
- You're the perfect choice for that. You already have a lot of experience with Mordrem. Are you gonna be in charge or something?
- So it seems. Of a small squad.
- I'd offer to come, but I've got to make sure Taimi's safe. She's looking for that Pact engineer to toughen Scruffy's armor. I'll never forget how she came close to dying in that Inquest attack.
- Me neither. We showed up in the nick of time. She was so scared.
- I'll keep an eye on the squirt. You're gonna be okay, right?
- Of course. I won't be alone.
- Approaching Taimi
- Taimi: Wait, I have more questions!
- Taimi: I need to know: was Aerin working for Scarlet?
- Master of Lightning: Not to my knowledge, miss, although I suppose it's possible. I never met any of his friends.
- Taimi: Then what are you doing here?
- Master of Sun: We came...looking for a safe place to land.
- Taimi: Wait! You can't just leave after saying that.
- Taimi: Why would he attack you? You never did anything to hurt him, did you?
- Master of Lightning: Of course not! We welcomed him into our fold. But he grew violent.
- Master of Sun: It started with episodes of confusion and aggression.
- Master of Wind: We had just decided to confine him when...
- Taimi: So, where's the Master of Peace now?
- Master of Lightning: We need to find him.
- Taimi: Excuse me! Excuuuuse me!
- Taimi: No, wait! Why would he go off alone?
- Master of Sun: We...believe...
- Master of Lightning: We believe he's still searching for a place where we can all be safe.
- Taimi: We saved him. We tracked Aerin through the wastes and found him before he could kill your master.
- Master of Lightning: That was you, huh? We found Aerin's corpse and assumed the master had killed him.
- Taimi: Nope, it was the boss and me—and the others, too. We trapped him inside Spurbend Canyon and fought him there.
- Master of Sun: We are profoundly grateful to you, miss. To all of you. But we really must go.
- Speaking to the Aspect Masters
- Master of Lightning: I'm told by this delightful young miss here that you saved the life of our Master of Peace. It seems you have a knack for commanding the Aspects.
- Aerin was out of control. He had to be stopped. I'm <Character name>.
- Master of Sun: How did the Master of Peace look when you saw him last? Was he injured at all?
- No, he seemed hardy.
- Master of Sun: He's determined, and, of course, the best among us. If any of us could survive out there on our own, it would be him.
- Nevertheless, you're risking your own lives to try to catch up with him?
- Master of Lightning: We fear the day will come when he needs us. We want to be there when it does.
- We won't keep you any longer. Safe journey.
- What about your people? All those injured in the crash?
- Master of Sun: We're doing this for them. For now, they can help each other, but soon we'll need a safe place to shelter while we recover and rebuild.
- What about your crystals? Aren't you afraid they'll be looted?
- Master of Wind: Oh, yes, but others will collect them. This responsibility we inherited, protecting Glint's legacy, it extends to all Zephyrites. We all play our roles.
- The Aspects are her magic?
- Fueled by it. She lives on in the sun, wind, and lightning. Her body was overflowing with magic soaked up over the thousands of years that she'd lived. It continues to seep out of her crystals.
- And you sell her crystals?
- No! Not hers. We grow the ones we sell. A dead dragon's magic naturally returns to the world. Our grown crystals are infused with some of that magic.
- And the Master of Peace is looking for a safe place for you?
- The Zephyrites are collecting her crystals as they find them. Saving them so that when we have found our new home, we can move them there, and begin again.
- You inherited it?
- He was Soundless, we believe. (If sylvari)
- He was open—almost obsessive—about that. He claimed his connection to the Pale Tree and your Dream made him less of an individual. He called you all "the hive." I don't believe he meant to flatter.
- In your opinion, did he show any signs of corruption by an Elder Dragon?
- It didn't occur to me until after the crash as I tried to understand what had just happened. There were signs, bursts of anger. He said odd things about believing the world must be destroyed.
- Was that all?
- Sometimes he talked to himself as if trying to keep certain urges at bay. I felt at the time like he was in a battle of wills. Arguing with himself.
- That sounds just like Scarlet.
- Taimi: I'm now completely convinced that Scarlet's actions were not in her nature. She'd been corrupted by dragon ideas—her mind warped. Boss, I'm glad you haven't shown any such symptoms—yet.
- And I don't intend to. Thank you, masters. Taimi, let's go.
- We won't keep you any longer. Safe journey.
- You inherited it?
- The Brotherhood of the Dragon was a dwarven society dedicated to Glint. Before they turned to stone, they passed that duty on to us.
- When was this?
- Over two hundred years ago. At first, we were a small group, nomadic. We lived in the desert and assisted Glint in any way we could. But then, Kralkatorrik awoke and destroyed her.
- She and Destiny's Edge attacked Kralkatorrik and tried to kill it.
- They failed. And Glint died. Her crystals are all we have left of her. We collected what we could from the desert, built airships where no one could touch us, and learned to use the Aspects.
- The Aspects are her magic?
- We won't keep you any longer. Safe journey.
- We won't keep you any longer. Safe journey.
- Speaking to Taimi
- You look so serious. Zojja wears a similar face sometimes, when her experiments are especially dangerous. What are you going to do?
- I'm going out to find Caithe and Canach. Braham's going to take you home.
- Out? You mean out into the wastes? Braham should go with you! What if something happens to you?
- I'm meeting up with and leading a Pact squad. I won't be alone.
- I can find my engineer and then get home alone. You don't need to watch over me every second. Seriously. I'm not a baby.
- You two will be safer together. Don't worry about me. I'll see you later.
- Afterwards
- Taimi: There! There he is! Hey! Stop!
- Taimi: Brun Ingotspitter. May name is Taimi. I'm dedicated to learning as much of what you know as I can.
- Brun Ingotspitter: Well, I'll be.
- Taimi: Your command of metal-magical integration is awe-inspiring. We studied your progressive layering techniques in class.
- Brun Ingotspitter: That so? Well, what makes you think I'd teach you anything?
- Taimi: Because I'm the smartest, most earnest student you will ever have.
- Brun Ingotspitter: That remains to be seen. But we can talk. A little.
Optional dialogue[edit]
- Destiny's Edge
- Eir: It's good to see you. I debated whether I wanted to come or not, but I just couldn't pass up a chance to go at another dragon.
- Why didn't you want to come?
- I keep trying to put hunting behind me. You drew me out for the fight against Zhaitan, though, and here I am again. At least, I get to see Braham.
- He's a good-hearted, brave hunter.
- I know. I'm proud of him. At his age, his legend is already great. I can only imagine what he'll do as he matures.
- I'm glad you're making amends with him.
- As am I. You're an inspiration to him, you know? I want to thank you for taking him under your wing. Your guidance has changed his life.
- He's had my back on many occasions.
- I still don't understand how you could leave him when he was little.
- Borje and I had many talks about it before I left. You have to understand that the Sons of Svanir were spreading quickly at that time. Whole families were being corrupted.
- Why didn't you visit him?
- It was like being caught in an avalanche. One snowball became many, and before I knew it, too much time had passed. I left to fight Svanir in the beginning, but then there was Kralkatorrik.
- And then Zhaitan.
- Yes. I was needed at each one of them, and by that time, I'd been gone so long... Braham wouldn't even have recognized me. I had to focus on keeping him safe by doing what I could against the dragons.
- You should tell him this.
- Yeah, and he did it without your help.
- You're angry. I understand. It wasn't an easy decision. I hadn't planned to be gone long—certainly not forever. I left to fight Svanir. Then, it was one thing after another. Kralkatorrik. Zhaitan.
- Did you know Borje died?
- Logan Thackeray: You had any word from Rytlock? You were with him when he went into that portal, right?
- I was there. There was no stopping him.
- From what I hear, he went in after Sohothin. Is that right? Was he really trying to perform a ritual to break the Foefire curse?
- Crazy as it sounds, yes, he was. He had King Adelbern's crown.
- What? He found it? Where?
- Actually, I found it for him. It was scattered, in pieces.
- So, he had Sohothin and the crown of the Ascalonian king who set the curse in the first place. I see why he thought it might actually work. But he's not human. The legend says only an heir...
- He also found what he thought were magical words.
- But all of that wasn't enough. And now he's gone through a portal to gods know where. If it weren't Rytlock, I'd be more worried.
- It is Rytlock. He'll be back. I just hope he comes back in one piece.
- The charr are the true victims of that curse.
- There have been many victims of that curse. I'm frankly surprised Rytlock's ritual did anything at all.
- And yet, it did. It affected some of the ghosts present. They're gone.
- You saw this? With your own eyes? That's remarkable. Amazing! It means there's hope. With the right mix of components, we can free the spirits of Ascalon forever. The charr will then be freed as well.
- I saw it. It happened. That's why Rytlock couldn't let the sword be lost.
- Rytlock knew what he was doing. It was a worthy experiment.
- Zojja: I got an earful from Taimi after her run-in with Phlunt.
- Phlunt is an...interesting individual.
- You're in a polite mood today. I'm more likely to say Phlunt is an interesting insect. But, I do appreciate your effort. You needn't worry. Everyone who matters knows the device is Taimi's invention.
- That's as it should be.
- Phlunt's handicap is greater than Taimi's. He was born without a heart.
- It's true. He has the empathy of a rat. If it soothes you at all, he also has the brains of a rat, and he hasn't been able to reverse engineer Taimi's device. Everyone knows it's her invention.
- That makes me feel better.
- He should be taken out behind his lab and shot.
- I'm beginning to see how you feel about him. Unfortunately, he's within his rights according to college tradition. As a student, Taimi owns none of what she invents. Everyone knows it's hers, though.
- Then I say it's time for traditions to change.
- Your friends before talking to Trahearne
- Braham: Hey. You on your way to talk to Trahearne?
- Yeah. I'll catch up with you when I'm done.
- Approaching Rox
- Soldier: Looks like your friend's coming to rescue you.
- Rox: Don't you have somewhere to be? Move off.
- Rox: Hey. What are you doing over here? Shouldn't you be...
- Who was that you were talking to?
- Who? Oh, him? Just an old friend, someone I knew from my mining days.
- Did he know your old warband?
- Some of them. We all worked the same mine.
- I've never said it, Rox, but I'm really sorry you had to go through that.
- I'm still going through it. You and Braham help keep my mind off it. It's hard to talk about. It's hard to see people I knew from that time.
- Would it be okay if I met him? A friend of yours is a friend of mine.
- He's not really anyone. I said "friend," but I meant "acquaintance." Not worth your time.
- Okay. I won't pry. Changing the subject. You had any word about Rytlock?
- No. I plan to head out to the Black Citadel to see if they've heard anything yet, or if they're planning on doing anything.
- That seems like a good idea. Let me know what you find out, okay?
- I definitely will.
- Okay. I'd better go.
- Speaking to Rox again after the conversation
- Rox: Have you had any word on Rytlock? Nobody at the Citadel has heard from him.
- Not a peep.
- Taimi: Are you going to see Marshal Trahearne? You're friends, right? I'd love to tell my classmates that I met him.
- I'm sorry, Taimi. Things are too serious right now. Some other time.
- Okay, I understand. I still haven't found my charr engineer, but I'll keep looking. He's going to help me upgrade Scruffy.
- (if Engineer)
- What kind of upgrade?
- I'm going to ratchet up the internal and external processing centers and redefine my defense systems. You know. The usual.
- (other professions)
- Upgrade how?
- Upgrade Scruffy to a whole new level of kuh-bam, as Braham would say. I'll spare you the complex details so as not to embarrass you, but it's going to be great.
- This is a sudden decision.
- Yes...and no. I've been planning it for a while, and it'll take me even longer to do. But, the Inquest incident moved my schedule up a bit.
- (if asura)
- And you think this charr can help you?
- I am not so proud as to believe that our race is the only one with superior engineering skills. This one, in particular, has metalmagical brilliance, or so they say.
- All right. Just keep Braham within your perimeter.
- (if non-asura)
- And you think this engineer can help you?
- He's renowned with metalwork, and I need to toughen Scruffy's hide.
- Okay. Just stay close to Braham.
- Your friends after quest completion
- (if Order of Whispers)
- Braham: The Pact are like ants. They have everything so coordinated. Is this what it's like to be in an army?
- The Order of Whispers has a hierarchy, but we mostly work alone.
- I wouldn't make a good Whispers agent. I'm too big to be sneaky. Besides, I'm not sure I could follow orders from anyone else. Though I'm beginning to see how much power a group can muster.
- Working together isn't a bad thing.
- Speaking of, where are Jory and Kas?
- I asked them to go to the Durmand Priory and research the Elder Dragons. (Continues like "Not since the summit. ..." below)
- (if Vigil)
- Braham: I think that if I ever joined an order, I'd want to be a Vigil like you. It's like they're stronger together than apart.
- That's a universal truth. We're all stronger together than apart.
- Some norn understand that, I guess, but not all. We're so intent on making our own legends, we don't see what's right in front of our faces.
- The world is changing. They'll have to see...soon. (Continues like "It can be very exciting. Many ruins are treacherous." below)
- (if Durmand Priory)
- Braham: I don't understand you Durmand Priory people. Why would you want to spend so much time reading scrolls and looking at old artifacts?
- We do more than that, we collect and protect knowledge.
- I guess so. After all, you're not one of these weak ruins raiders. I just think I'd be bored hunting items instead of things that bite back.
- It can be very exciting. Many ruins are treacherous.
- That reminds me. Are Jory and Kas still at the Durmand Priory? Have you heard from them?
- Not since the summit. They promised to send word when they found something.
- Oh, that's right. I hope they find something we can use. Jory's a member of the Priory, right? Is Kas?
- I don't believe she's in an order. She's in the Mesmer Collective.
- What is that, some kind of group for mesmers?
- I don't know much about it. I think so. We'll have to ask her.
- (if Mesmer profession)
- Yes. You have to be sponsored. I haven't yet been invited to join.
- Why not? I mean, you're you—an important mesmer.
- I guess I haven't stayed still long enough to make the right connections.
- Rox: I figured you'd be in there for hours with Marshal Trahearne, catching up on old times.
- It wasn't that kind of visit. He has a mission for me.
- What kind of mission? Can you tell me or is it a big Pact secret?
- There's a squad missing. I'm taking some soldiers and going after them.
- I don't think I can go with you, Boss. I have to go back to the Citadel. I'm due for my annual weapons testing.
- (for non-charr)
- Don't worry. I've got this. We'll regroup later.
- Yeah, with Kas and Jory at the Priory, and Braham babysitting little Miss Progeny, we're kinda scattered. Not for long though.
- (Only if you have already confronted charr Soldier:)
- By the way, I spoke to that charr you were with earlier.
- He's not the brightest, I know. I doubt I'll ever see him again. It was a fluke. Old acquaintances crossing paths. You know.
- If he gives you any trouble, you let me know, okay?
- I will. You don't have to worry about him. I can handle myself.
- I know. I'll see you soon.
- Not for long.
- (if charr)
- Annual weapons tests? You're a free agent now. You don't have to—
- Did I say weapons tests? I meant I have to answer more questions about Rytlock's disappearance.
- (Only if you have already confronted charr Soldier:)
- Hm. Is this related to that charr you were talking to— (Continues like "By the way, I spoke to that charr you were with earlier.")
- I get it. You don't have to tell me what you're doing.
- Taimi: Don't you have somewhere to be? I was taught as a toddler that procrastinating leads to evil.
- Good point. I'd better get going.
- Ambient conversations
Approaching a group of charr soldiers
- Soldier points at <Character name>.
- Soldier (1): That's the one who took down Zhaitan! Tough as nails.
- Soldier salutes <Character name>.
- Soldier (2): You can count on us, Commander!
- Soldier cheers for <Character name>.
- Soldier (1): Death to Mordremoth!
Approaching asuran Peacemakers
- Peacemaker bows to <Character name>.
- Peacemaker: Councillor Phlunt asked that I convey his regards.
Approaching a group of training soldiers
- Whispers Lightbringer cheers for <Character name>.
- Whispers Lightbringer: Nice. The first Commander of the Pact joins us.
Approaching the northern gate
- Vigil Crusader salutes <Character name>.
- Vigil Crusader: It's an honor to fight beside you.
Approaching a group of norn hunters
- Hunter (1): (laugh) I'm going to enjoy stomping these things under my boot!
- Hunter (2): Yeah, and if it gets any hotter, I'll be fighting without armor.
- Hunter (1): That's one way to make your legend! (laugh)
Approaching the soldier who talked to Rox
- Soldier: Must be my lucky day.
- Rox: Hey! C'mon! Forget him. Let's just go.
Approaching the northern tents
- Vigil Healer: Bandages, healing salve, and whiskey. I need as much of those as can fit in the hold.
At the camp chef
- Food Inspector Rixxi: Excuse me, Mr., uh... Gristlemane?
- Camp Chef Gristlemane: Yes. What is it? I'm busy here.
- Food Inspector Rixxi: I'm here to speak with you about... That is... Is there someplace we can talk in private?
- Gristlemane: No. You have something to say about my food, have the guts to tell me right out here.
- Rixxi: Very well. There have been some, uh, some complaints about your hair—
- Gristlemane: (sputter) What? Who's got a problem with my hair? Point 'em out to me!
- Rixxi: It's just that it's... been finding its way into the food. I must insist that you wear a hair net.
- Gristlemane: Noted. Now please leave me be. I've got work to do.
- Rixxi: Of-of course.
Standing near the seraphs by Logan
- Seraph (1): Has there been any word on when we're launching the fleet?
- Seraph (2): When we're ready, and not a moment sooner.
- Peacemaker (1): We need to talk to somebody who actually has authority around here. I want a good position at the railing.
- Peacemaker (2): I'd rather stay at the back and shoot from a place of relative security.
- Valiant (1): I'm nervous and excited at the same time. This feels momentous.
- Valiant (2): It may be the most important thing we'll ever do.
Standing near Zojja
- Peacemaker Officer: The last thing our organization needed was additional layers of bureaucracy.
- Valiant (1): I'm worried about the Mother Tree. Part of me hates to be away. One less body between her and the Shadow of the Dragon.
- Valiant (2): We kill its master and it won't return.
- Peacemaker (1): I heard Mordremoth is within bombing range of here. The marshal is banking on that.
- Peacemaker (2): I hope his assessment is correct. Wouldn't it be embarrassing if we got all dressed up to fight and the dragon wasn't even there.
- Conversations with other NPCs
Confronting the charr Soldier after his conversation with Rox
- (if human)
- You looking at me?
- I guess I am. Just wanted to say hello. I'm a friend of Rox's.
- Oh, you're going to talk to me too. (sigh) I'll only say this once. Even if I had a reason to talk to a stinking gladium like Rox, it wouldn't be anyone else's business. Especially not a human's.
- You're... rude.
- Rude? Try dangerous, human.
- If we were anywhere but here, I'd teach you manners. It's your lucky day.
- Call her that again and I'll put you in the ground.
- Oh yeah? Your friend Rox is a f—
- Stop before you say something we'll both regret. I'm leaving.
- (if charr)
- What? I wasn't doing anything out of line.
- You're not wearing order or legion gear. Name, rank, and warband, soldier.
- I don't report to you.
- (growl) You do now.
- Sorry. Sorry. Scythe warband...soldier....Monti Scythescrape. I'm going. I don't want any trouble.
- Good call.
- (if other)
- You sure you want to do this?
- Do what? I'm a friend of Rox's. Just being friendly.
- Friendly isn't in my vocabulary. And being a friend of hers sure as scrap don't make you no friend of mine. Move along.
- Well, aren't you a charmer?
- Come closer, and I'll give you a taste of how charming I can be, <race>.
- No, thank you.
Speaking to the Soldier again after your confrontational conversation
- I'm not doing nothing.
- Keep it that way.
Speaking to Braham, before conversation with the charr soldier
- You see that ugly charr Rox was talking to? I've never seen him before.
- I didn't notice.
- I got a bad feeling about him. That's all.
- Stay alert.
Speaking to Braham, after conversation with the charr soldier
- You see that ugly charr Rox was talking to? I've never seen him before.
- (if human)[verification requested]
- Yeah, I made the mistake of talking to him.
- (if other)[verification requested]
- I introduced myself. He wasn't very friendly.
Speaking to Preceptor Doern Velazquez
- (if Order of Whispers)
- Hello, old friend. It does this dirty traveler good to see you in our midst. I presume you'll be going with us?
- (otherwise)
- Hello, Commander. Last time I saw you, we were fighting Zhaitan. And now, here we are again. Are you ready to take on Mordremoth?
- I am fighting the beast from a different flank, Preceptor.
- Very good. I wish you luck with that effort.
- The sentiment is mutual.
Speaking to Professor Gorr
- (if asura)
- Oh look. It's you. From what I hear, you're becoming quite an expert on the Elder Dragons. I'm glad you will never face the resistance that I did. My theories have all proven true, you know?
- Yes, Professor. You were ahead of your time.
- Some ideas are so terrifying that people resist them. If it weren't for you, there would still be many who had their heads buried in ignorance.
- I was lucky to have met you when I was still so impressionable.
- How kind of you. I'm not surprised to see you in the middle of this fight. We will find a way to survive the Elder Dragons. We will.
- If I have anything to say about it, we will. Good-bye, Professor.
- (if non-asura)
- Commander <Character name>. What pleasure it is to see you alive and well. When last I set eyes upon you, we were in Orr. I hear you've continued your research of the Elder Dragons.
- There is no more important subject right now.
- I could not agree more. It's been a lifelong pursuit for me. I look forward to the day we crack this nut, as the squirrels say. Good luck to you, Commander.
- Good luck to you as well, Professor.
Speaking to the Krewe Apprentice near Professor Gorr
- Pardon me, Commander. I'm very busy here.
- What are you doing with an Inquest golem?
- In these times of trouble, we utilize whatever resources we can find. Besides, I've been dying to tinker with one of these for decades.
- Makes sense. Good luck.
- I'll leave you to your work.
Speaking to Seraph Master Sergeant Heche
- Welcome to our own little corner of Camp Resolve, Commander.
- (if human)
- So you've claimed this land for the queen, hm?
- Yes, indeed! (laugh) Long live the queen. So, are you coming with us?
- Not this time. I'm heading out on another mission.
- Good luck. May we all return in one piece.
- From your lips to the gods' ears.
- (other races)
- You humans are so territorial.
- Isn't everyone? I mean, look at those charr engineers. Their mark is all over this place.
- They're impressive builders, I must say.
- (if charr)
- Damn straight. No other builders like 'em.
- Thanks, Seraph.
Standing near Valiant Eleri
- Valiant Eleri: A shadow has fallen across our mother. Our Wyld Hunt brought us here to avenge her against the dragon's mockeries.

- The story summary was changed at some point after the original release. It contains now the objectives point 'Read the letter "Your Presence Is Requested."' which is unusual.
