Walkthrough[edit]
Enter the Stonewright's Steading and listen to the cinematic between Eir and the charr. After blacking out in the company of a charr warband, you took their tank for a drive, and unfortunately nobody can remember where you left it. Under Whitebear's orders you are to resolve the situation by helping the charr recover the tank.
Head out to the Taigan Groves and enter the next instance by the waypoint. After the cinematic continue up the road with the dolyaks and the warband, defending them from Skelk. Sons of Svanir bring the bridge down before you can cross it - engineers rebuild it while you defend. The onslaught culminates after the two Veteran foes have been defeated. Continue unhampered to the Lionguard haven. Here, you learn that you were spotted the previous night heading further north with the tank.

Dialogue[edit]
Stonewright's Steading[edit]
Entering Stonewright's Steading:
- Mangonel Gearstrip: Look who finally sobered up. Glad to see you can still stand.
- Mangonel Gearstrip waves at <character name>.
Speaking with Mangonel Gearstrip:
- Mangonel Gearstrip: Hey, Slayer! Remember me? Your drinking buddy, Mangonel! I don't remember much of that night, but from what I do, we had us a mighty good time.
- I'll have to take your word for it. I don't remember you or the moot at all.
- I'm not surprised. You were drinking from a keg in each hand while balancing another on your head. You just punched a hole in it and let it flow down your face.
- See, That's what I look for in a drinking buddy: someone who can teach me new techniques.
- And that's why our races get along so well.
That sounds like me. Someday I'll show you how to drink like that. It's all in the stance.
- Come on, you big liar. I recognize your face, your voice, and your scent. It was you.
- All right, I admit it: it's possible you remember better than I do.
Look, I may have been drunk, but I'm never that drunk. You've got the wrong norn.
- I'm not just your guest, I'm your drinking buddy. And believe me, we went drinking, buddy.
- That does sound like me.
It's rude to disagree with a guest. I'll just take your word for it.
- Sorry, soldier. That night's a complete blank.
Approaching Eir and Ballista Geargrind:
- Eir Stegalkin: You are honored guests in Hoelbrak, but you can't threaten me in my own home.
- Ballista Geargrind: No? Well, that's how I work when I'm short on time. Now let's talk to this slayer of yours.
Talking to Eir (cinematic):
- Eir Stegalkin: We've got trouble, Slayer. Knut Whitebear wants me to handle it...peacefully. This legionnaire says she's here to collect on a debt you owe her warband.
- <Character name>: What? That's crazy. I've never seen them before.
- Mangonel Gearstrip: Boss, the norn was too drunk to remember, just like me. Look, friend, you and me took the warband's chugger out for a spin after the moot.
- Ballista Geargrind: And neither of you drunken, joy-riding idiots remember where you parked my ordnance. So, Slayer, it's only fair that I take you until I get it back.
- Ballista Geargrind: Congratulations, you're officially press-ganged into the Gear warband auxiliary. Your behind is mine until we recover the Iron Legion's property.
- <Character name>: I'm no soldier, but a debt is a debt. Honor demands I repay it. What's my first duty?
- Ballista Geargrind: Escorting a supply caravan. Meet us on the road near Tiagan Groves. And don't make me come looking for you again. Dismissed!
Speaking to Eir:
- Eir Stegalkin: Ah, Slayer. That's not an easy vehicle to lose! Just remember to thank Knut Whitebear. He kept Geargrind from getting violent.
- I suppose I should thank him for that. Why did he get involved, anway?
- When an angry char warband shows up in Hoelbrak, Knut gets involved. We're lucky Geargrind respects him, or you'd be fighting for your life against your former drinking buddies.
- There's no need. You can repay your debt and keep the peace here in Hoelbrak by fighting alongside the Gear warband.
- If that [sic] what it takes, I'm ready.
Hey, if they still want to fight, I'll be happy to oblige them.
- That's the spirit. No sense in starting a fight when you could go on an adventure instead. Especially when you're on the wrong side of a debt.
- You can assure Knut that I will correct my mistakes.
Well, I'm ready to make good on my debt. That should smooth things over.
- Not really. He's already got three skaalds working on "The Ballad of the Wayward War Machine" for the next moot.
- As long as you can drink to it, I'll sing along. See you later.
And that should only happen at the moot, not after. Was Knut mad?
- Tell Knut I'll make it up to him.
- I thought Knut Whitebear would have more important concerns.
- He does, but everything that happens in Hoelbrak is his responsibility. He and his whole family keeps it running. In many ways, the Whitebears are Hoelbrak.
- I know. Don't worry. I'll take care of it.
- I'll remember. Thank you, too. This is my mess, so I'll clean it up.
Speaking to Ballista Geargrind:
- Ballista Geargrind: Don't get me wrong, I like a little mischief at a moot. But when you mess with Iron Legion machinery, that's when I get mean.
- Talk is cheap. Let's see what you can do.
- Let's go.
Well, We don't want that. Let's get your machine back.
- No, you don't. Now fall in and get ready to work off your debt.
- I'll work as hard as it takes, and then some.
Meaner than you are now? I don't want to see that.
- That makes two of us. Now fall in! We've got work to do.
- I won't rest until we find your machine.
I can understand why. I look forward to redeeming my error.
Speaking to Mangonel Gearstrip:
- Mangonel Gearstrip: I'll meet you in Taigan Groves. We'll set it right.
- Sounds good.
Taigan Groves[edit]
Approaching the warband:
- Ballista Geargrind: Fall in, Slayer! You're not one of my soldiers, but by Smodur's guns, you'll act like one!
- Mangonel Gearstrip waves at <character name>.
Talking to Ballista Geargrind (cinematic):
- Ballista Geargrind: All right, form up! Sons of Svanir have been hitting this road all month, but not today. Today, this caravan reaches its destination intact.
- Mangonel Gearstrip: Hey, Slayer? Any luck remembering where we took it? I remember driving through snow, trying to spell "JORMAG EATS DUNG!" That was your idea.
- <Character name>: I'm still drawing a blank. I vaguely remember doing swan dives off the cannon into the lake...
- Ballista Geargrind: Quiet in the ranks! You two lushes better be ready to roll when the caravan arrives.
- Ballista Geargrind: If the centurion finds out my warband is without a vehicle, my neck will be on the chopping block along with yours. Now shape up and get ready to move out.
Accompanying the caravan:
- Mangonel Gearstrip: After this, we have to find that chugger, or Geargrind will strangle me with my own tail.
At the bridge:
- Mangonel Gearstrip: Look alive! Svanir!
- Ballista Geargrind: Listen up, Gears! You lot, stay on bridge repair. The rest of you keep the cargo safe!
Fighting the Svanir while defending the engineers:
- Mangonel Gearstrip: Come on! We don't need a chugger for these icy beggers! We can mangle them ourselves!
Talking to Ballista Geargrind upon arriving at Twinspur Haven (cinematic):
- Lionguard: Welcome back, Legionnaire. It's good to see the Gear warband again. But what's a norn doing with your warband? Did someone lose a bet?
- Ballista Geargrind: Watch your tongue, Lionguard, or I'll tear it out. The Slayer here is attached to my warband for the time being. Is that a problem?
- Lionguard: Sorry, I didn't mean to insult your warband. So, Slayer...didn't I see you swinging from the cannon of a charr vehicle last time you were here?
- Lionguard: You were headed north, toward Crossroads Haven, right? I heard you shouting, "I don't take insults from a tree! Have at you, leafy!"
- Mangonel Gearstrip: I remember that! Stupid tree.
- <Character name>: We've got a lead, Geargrind. Next stop: Crossroads Haven.
- Ballista Geargrind: Understood. Give us some time to restock and get organized. We'll meet you there.
Speaking to your allies after finishing the mission:
- Ballista Geargrind: Don't wait for us. We'll meet you at Crossroads Haven as soon as we're finished here. And stay away from strong drink—you still have a debt to settle.
- All right. I'll see you there.
- Mangonel Gearstrip: I hope this lead pans out. I don't like being on Geargrind's bad side. It's not healthy.
- Only one way to find out. I'll see you there.
- Lionguard: Someday I'll buy you a drink, and you can teach me the end of that filthy song you were singing. I've just got to find out what you rhymed with "Halrunting."
- I don't actually know, myself. But if I find out, I'll be sure to tell you.
