Walkthrough[edit]
This mission is quite easy. Based on the choice you made earlier you will gain one of two transformations at the start of the instance. Both transformations make the instance very easy to survive and complete, despite the large number of enemies you will face.
If you chose to improve Beigarth's weapon, then you will have a very powerful Spirit Axe to wield in place of your normal skills. The axe you have at your disposal pretty much two shots anything in your way. It has a mini-griffon summon, a massive pbaoe lightning attack, a throw attack, and a standard spammable attack (that is not auto cast by default, but will fell Jotun in about 2 hits nonetheless).
While having the Spirit Axe, mesmer clones will also spawn with it, and will deal massive damage. Since clones will usually start with Griffon Strike if they are summoned near the enemy, equipping illusion utilities like Mirror Images and summoning them in melee range to the enemy will deal massive damage to them.
# | Skill | Description | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Wind Shear | ¼ | Swing your axe and launch a flying blade of wind at your foe. | |
2 | Griffon Strike | ½ | 5 | Dart forward, strike your foe with a crippling blast of lightning, and then retreat. |
3 | Eye of the Storm | ¾ | 10 | Fling bolts of lightning and thrash foes around you in a spinning frenzy. |
4 | Thundering Throw | ½ | 20 | Throw a returning axe wreathed in lightning. Any targets the axe hits are struck by lightning. |
5 | Pack Hunter | ¾ | 120 | Summon Windshear's Brood. |
If you chose to pursue Wolf's blessing, then you will be transformed into an avatar of the Wolf Spirit. In the Wolf Spirit's form you gain immense increases to Health and Armor, making you very difficult to kill. You also gain new abilities that replace your normal skills, including a minor pbaoe, a small summon, a healing ability that you probably won't need to use, a lunging strike, and a spammable bite attack.
# | Skill | Description | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Bite | ¼ | Bite your victim with ghostly jaws. | |
2 | Lunge | ¼ | 5 | Lunge at your victim with a powerful attack. |
3 | Leap | 1 | ¼10 | Leap at your target. |
4 | Baby Wolf | 2 | 15 | Summon a spectral wolf to aide[sic] you in battle for a short time. |
5 | Healing Howl | 2 | 20 | Heal yourself through the power of your own howl. |
Once you enter the instance you will meet with Eir Stegalkin and gain your transformation. You then have to fight your way through several waves of Jotun (each with up to 5 Jotun), intent on keeping you from their king. Once you have defeated the regular Jotun, Korag will present himself and brag about how the Dragon's blessing he has received has made him unbeatable. You then fight Korag on his own, with the help of Eir, Garm, your summoned allies, and your new skills. Once Korag is defeated you lose your transformation. You must then speak to the remaining Jotun, who will renounce the Dragon and the mission is then complete.

Dialogue[edit]
Approaching Eir Stegalkin if you chose Wolf's blessing (cinematic):
- Eir Stegalkin: Wolf's blessing surrounds you like a moonlit cloud. I can see it, and so will Korag.
- <Character name>: It will be the last thing he sees.
- Eir Stegalkin: Indeed, but let's not kid ourselves: the jotun won't let us walk up to Korag and start swinging.
- <Character name>: The dragon can cheat all it wants. Korag will die, and so will all of Jormag's minions.
- Eir Stegalkin: Keep that confidence, Slayer. Doubt can cripple a hero, but a bold heart will carry you through when doubt grows strong.
- Eir Stegalkin: Go. Garm and I will be right behind you.
Approaching Eir Stegalkin if you chose to enhance Beigarth's Weapon (cinematic):
- Eir Stegalkin: Here is the weapon Beigarth forged. So light, and yet so resilient. A true masterwork. I can't wait to see it in action.
- <Character name>: I've never seen its equal. If I close my eyes, I can almost hear the beat of griffon wings.
- Eir Stegalkin: Korag will fall before you, but first we must cut through his servants. Garm has sensed corruption here. Be on your guard.
- <Character name>: Korag will die. I'll deal the same punishment to all of Jormag's minion.
- Eir Stegalkin: Keep that confidence, Slayer. Doubt can cripple a hero, but a bold heart will carry you through when doubt grows strong.
- Eir Stegalkin: Go. Garm and I will be right behind you.
Talking to Eir Stegalkin:
- Eir Stegalkin: Trespassing on a jotun sanctuary is dangerous. They're tough, mean, and incredibly protective of their home. Keep your wits about you.
- You sound like you've done this before.
Talking to Garm if you chose Wolf's blessing:
- Garm: You are Eir's new pack? Good. She has missed her old pack. She is sad too often. Now, we will hunt once more!
- Her old pack? You mean Destiny's Edge?
- Wait a second—Garm? You can talk?
- Only to other wolves, young one. Now watch your tail, and prepare to fight!
- All right, then! I'm all wolfed up and ready to go!
Fighting Korag (cinematic):
- (With Wolf's blessing)
- Korag: Is that the norn who doubts Jormag? Ha! Fangs and fur won't save you from Dragon's power!
- Korag: Look upon me now, little one, and see the might of a giant-king!
- (With Beigarth's weapon)
- Korag: So, the norn who doubts jormag has returned! Look upon me now, little one, and see the might of a giant-king!
- <Character name>: I see nothing more than a creature who sold his soul and his people for power, and was duped into slavery.
- Korag: I'll tear you in half and lay the pieces on Jormag's altar.
- Korag: The dragon keeps it's bargains. I am undefeatable! The jotun will rule the Shiverpeaks once more.
While fighting Korag:
- Korag: You are a fool to challenge the king of the jotun!
- Eir Stegalkin: The dragon's blessing didn't prepare you for this, did it, Korag?
- Eir Stegalkin: Keep it up. He's showing signs of weakness!
- Korag: I will kill you and reap Jormag's reward!
- Eir Stegalkin: Stay on the offensive! He can't last much longer!
- Korag: You cannot win!
While leaving the Jotun sanctuary:
- Eir Stegalkin: I thought they'd quit after we killed Korag, but here come more.
- Eir Stegalkin: See what became of your leader? This is what the dragon offers—lies, broken promises, and death.
Approaching the remaining jotun (cinematic):
- <Character name>: Korag sold himself for power, and it lead to his death. Do you intend to join him?
- Bergris: No. One day, we will be powerful again, but not through the dragon's influence. We go now.
- Eir Stegalkin: They were a proud people once, but pride became arrogance, and strength, brutality. I pray we never walk that path.
- <Character name>: We won't. Not with leaders like you guiding us.
- Eir Stegalkin: You are a bright spirit, Slayer. You have the potential to accomplish great things, to be immortalized in song and in stone. In my youth, some said that of me, but I...fell short.
- Eir Stegalkin: But my tale is not over. I can teach you what I know of the world, and how to face it's dangers. Return to me when you are troubled, and I will lend you aid.
- <Character name>: It would be an honor. Until we meet again.
After the final cinematic ends:
- Bergris: Don't talk to them. They are beneath us.
Talking to Eir Stegalkin after the final cinematic:
- Eir Stegalkin: Congratulations on a well-earned victory, <Character name>. Go hoist a few flagons in celebration. I'm sure we'll see each other again soon.
- Thanks, Eir. I'll tell this tale loudly in the moot hall!
My story[edit]

- Previous text
- I defeated the jotun's would-be giant-king Korag. Without him, his followers abandoned their worship of Jormag. The jotun are still determined to claim norn lands as their own, so they're still a threat, but at least they won't be fighting for the Sons of Svanir.
