Walkthrough[edit]
First, you must track down from where Minotaur's influence is originating. This is done looking for Tracks around Wayfarer Foothills (not instanced). The first location is on the west side of the river, east of the wolf shrine. The second location is south-southwest of the grawl cave along the east side of the map. Forest Grubs may spawn right on top of the Tracks. The third location takes you north into the hills above the Bear Shrine at the base of the trail leading into the mountains. The fourth and final set of tracks are at the top of the hill along the trail.
At the final tracks, you will be prompted to enter the instance. Here, you'll face a couple Sons of Svanir followed by Hafdan the Black (a veteran). Defeat them then return to Eir with what you learned from them.

Dialogue[edit]
Grawlenfjord and Borealis Forest[edit]
At the tracks near the river:
- Tracks: There are tracks here from a single large, hoofed animal. There's a good chance they were made by Minotaur.
- Examine the tracks more closely.
- The tracks were definitely made by the Minotaur Spirit. The trail leads across the river. Mountains block the way east, so Minotaur must be heading north along the river.
- Continue following Minotaur's trail.
At the tracks near the grawl cave:
- Tracks: The trail grows clearer and more distinct here, revealing more of the tracks you've been following.
- Examine the tracks more closely.
- No doubt about it, this is Minotaur's trail. The tracks lead northwest, back across the river.
- Continue following Minotaur's trail.
At the tracks near the mountain trail:
- Tracks: The trail is clearly visible here. Its tracks are getting easier to recognize.
- Examine the tracks more closely.
- Minotaur's tracks are heavier and faster now, deep hoof prints that are further and further apart. The trail continues north, up the pass through the mountains.
- Continue following Minotaur's trail.
At the tracks at the top of the trail:
- Tracks: More of Minotaur's tracks here, the freshest you've seen so far.
- Examine the tracks more closely.
- These tracks were made quite recently. Minotaur must have just come through here, still heading north. You quarry is very close.
- Continue following Minotaur's trail.
Hangrammr Climb[edit]
Cinematic upon entry to the cave (if the player character is male):
- Hafdan the Black: We're busy, weaking boy. Run back to Hoelbrak and play with your toys.
- <Character name>: Not a chance. I won't let anyone harm the Minotaur spirit.
- Hafdan the Black: Look, brothers! He does have a brain. He's figured us out; he has to die.
Cinematic upon entry to the cave (if the player character is female):
- Hafdan the Black: We're busy, wench. Run back to Hoelbrak and sew something.
- <Character name>: Not a chance. I won't let anyone harm the Minotaur spirit.
- Hafdan the Black: Look, brothers! A woman with a brain. She's figured us out; she has to die.
While battling Hafdan and his men:
- Hafdan the Black: Spirits! Watch me slaughter my enemies!
- Hafdan the Black: I'll kill you, flay you, and make boots from your skin!
- Hafdan the Black: Spirits! Watch me slaughter my enemies!
After defeating Hafdan:
- Hafdan the Black: What is going on? Augh!
Cinematic after defeating Hafdan:
- <Character name>: Why where you hunting the Minotaur spirit? Tell me, you blubbering weakling, or I'll feed you to a bear.
- Hafdan the Black: It doesn't matter if you know. Jormag sent us a champion and we've been feeding it minotaurs. Vidkun declared the next meal should be the Minotaur Spirit itself.
- Hafdan the Black: Soon, the beast will destroy Hoelbrak! The weak will be slaughtered. The strong will become stronger. Hail, Vidkun! Hail, Jormag!
- <Character name>: Shut up, you idiot. I'm letting you go, but only so your pathetic friends will know I'm coming.
- Hafdan the Black: You do that and the next time we meet, it will be at the end of a blade.
- <Character name>: And I'll tear it from your hands and stick it in your throat. Go on, run now!
Stonewright's Steading[edit]
- Baeger: Hey, you're the Slayer of Issormir! Are you here to get Eir to carve you?
- She hasn't met me yet! She's clearly waiting to carve someone worthy of her talents, and that someone is me.
- Good luck with that. I'll keep an eye out for your Eir Stegalkin original.
A worthy goal, but I hear she's choosy about her subjects.
- No, I'm here on more urgent business.
- Somke: Eir's sculptures are wonderful, but I wish she was still adventuring. The dragons are still out there, I wonder what she's waiting for.
- You may be right. Or maybe she's looking for the right adventuring companion. Wouldn't that be something!
- Stop listening to rumors. She has Garm. What else does she need?
Maybe it's a clever ploy. She could be biding her time for a big comeback.
- Eir's done great things. She'll do more when she's ready.
Approaching Effja and Annja
- Annja: Raven's beak, that's one bad statue.
- Effja: What are you talking about? It's incredible. The carving is flawless.
- Annja: I'm not questioning her skill, just her choice of subjects. That oaf doesn't deserve a monument.
- Effja: Art is tricky. you have to stop and think to appreciate it. The subject of a piece doesn't matter, so long as it's a good representation. Does that make sense?
- Well said! It's spiritual: Raven gives us clarity of mind to know the good, and Bear gives us brute strength to smash the awful!
- Ha! There are plenty of norn artists, but I think you're the first norn art critic.
Like a beautiful song about an ugly dog.
- You're missing the point. Art elevates both subject and audience. I swear, the next time someone whines about subject and not craftsmanship, I'll brain them with a tree branch!
- Right. That's a very elevated attitude you've got there, professor.
No. I can "represent" what dolyaks leave behind on a trail, but it's still scat.
- I don't really care. I may not know art, but I know what I like.
- Annja: You can't argue with Eir's skill, but her choice of subjects ruins the whole effect. Well-crafted pieces, but ugly is ugly.
- Eir says the same thing around the fire. When she finds someone worthwhile, I think she'll carve a statue worthy to place in the Great Lodge!
- Thanks for the information.
You raise an interesting point. Heroes just aren't what they used to be.
- You should focus on the pretty heroes. There are plenty all around you. Good-bye.
Cinematic in Stonewright's Steading:
- <Character name>: I tracked Minotaur to a cavern above Raven's Shrine. The Sons of Svanir were there, too, tracking the same beast. I...convinced them to tell me what they were up to.
- <Character name>: They've been rounding up minotaurs and feeding them to a dragon minion on the orders of their boss, Vidkun.
- Eir Stegalkin: That would explain the Minotaur spirit's rage. No wonder his children are attacking any hunter they see.
- <Character name>: I need your help, Eir. You know more about the dragon and its minions than anyone.
- Eir Stegalkin: Of course I'll help. But I won't get in the way of your legend. My time for glory is past, and I sense yours is just beginning.
- Eir Stegalkin: To be a great hero, you need to know your enemy. I know Jormag's minions. I can show you how to fight them.
- <Character name>: Excellent. Meet me on the mountain, and together we'll teach these Sons of Svanir a lesson they won't forget.
Speaking with Eir before leaving:
- Eir Stegalkin: The Sons of Svanir are vicious and cruel, with no regard for the Spirits. You should have no regard for their lives.
- I had none. Now I have less. I'll make sure they pay for this.
- I won't, but it saddens me how far they've fallen from the true Spirits of the Wild.
- What about you? You seem hesitant when our purpose is clear.
- That is another tale, Slayer, a sad tale that smacks of failure. Perhaps one day I will tell you.
- Very well, Eir. I'll meet you on the mountain.
- Understood. I'll meet you on the mountain.
My story[edit]
|
- Previous text
- I tracked the Minotaur Spirit up into the mountains to the north.
I found a group of Sons of Svanir. It turns out they've been capturing minotaurs and feeding them to a dragon minion. This has to stop!
I interrogated one of the Sons of Svanir and discovered their ultimate goal is to capture the Spirit of Minotaur and feed it to their leader's pet dragon minion. Eir and I are determined to stop them, so we need to find Minotaur first.
