Walkthrough[edit]
The briefing cinematic informs you that the Priory will first silence the dredge weapon, and then counterattack. Follow Prott down the hill to the ritual point, and defend the priory team as small groups of dredge pop out from the ground (Eir will assist you while defending the others). Dredge personnel carriers will appear too after the second wave of popups.
When the ritual completes, head across the bridge with your priory allies and engage the group of dredge protecting the sonic vaporizer. The veteran Vyacheslav is standing beside the vaporizer, but poses little threat once his allies are defeated.

Dialogue[edit]
Approaching Prott:
- Scholar Prott: The black wing of Raven hangs heavy over the Priory today. The dredge, Vyacheslav, abandons reason. He threatens to topple the entire Priory if we continue protecting Ogden.
- <Character name>: The screams of that weapon will flood this place with dragon minions. We have to stop it.
- Scholar Prott: Our scholars have prepared the ritual of silencing. We've never used it before, but we have our finest minds on it. If successful, it will silence the Sonic Vaporizer and give us the edge to counterattack with our limited forces.
- Scholar Prott: However, the ritual will take time. We need you to protect the ritualist until it is complete, and then lead the assault against the dredge. It's a difficult task.
- Eir Stegalkin: The Slayer of Issormir excels at difficult tasks.
- <Character name>: Eir! You did come. It means a lot that you'd fight at my side today.
- Eir Stegalkin: Ogden is an old friend...and thanks to you, I've been reminded that no matter how bad things seem, heroes don't give up on their friends.
- Eir Stegalkin: I will stay behind to guard Ogden while you and the Priory take the lead. Speaking of my old friend...
- Ogden: Eir! Prott! And you must be the Slayer of Issormir! I am Ogden Stonehealer. Thank you for defending the Priory—and my life.
- Scholar Prott: The ritual casters are ready. I'll act as head ritualist. Let me know when you are ready, and we will begin.
Talking to your allies:
- Ogden Stonehealer: I am very glad to have you among the Priory's ranks, and not just because you saved me. The dredge's old grudge against my people is precisely the kind of division the dragon will exploit.
- How did you outlive the rest of your kind?
- I didn't. The few survivor now battle servants of the Elder Dragon Primordus, deep underground. I alone remain above, to tell the tale.
- I look forward to hearing more about it.
- You're welcome, Ogden.
- Eir Stegalkin: I thought I'd done all I could for Tyria. You've taught me that any blade—even reforged—can make a difference.
- Garm aside, it's been too long since I've been part of a functional team. Thank you, Slayer. It's good to rely on someone, and to be relied on again.
- We'll get lots of practice. Teamwork's the only way to defeat the dragons.
And you've taught me where and how to make a difference. We complement each other.
- It was my pleasure.
Trying to cross the bridge before completing the ritual:
- Priory Arcanist: Looking to get yourself killed? We'll hold them back, you help Prott!
On the way to the ritual place:
- Vyacheslav: Member of the Durmand Priory, we are not here for your lives, we are here for Ogden's.
- Vyacheslav: Send him forth. He will pay for the horrors inflicted upon us by his race. Give him up willingly and we won't hurt you.
- Vyacheslav: Resist, and the howl of our guns shall wipe your fortress from the face of Tyria.
Approaching Prott:
- Scholar Prott: When I start, the other ritualists and I will be defenseless. Keep us safe or all is lost.
- Vyacheslav: They're casting some kind of ritual. They mustn't be allowed to finish. Begin the assault!
After destroying the Vaporizer:
- Dredge Ratnik: Run! Dig! Hide!
Regrouping with Prott:
- Scholar Prott: You made all the difference, Slayer. The Priory would not have survived that attack without your help.
- Eir Stegalkin: Few people in Tyria truly understand how great a threat the Elder Dragons are — to all of us.
- Scholar Prott: But we who do are preparing to stop them. It's been a pleasure working alongside you, Slayer. But now you're expected in Lion's Arch.
- Scholar Prott: A Priory mentor has been assigned to you and will be standing by. They'll help you settle in and adjust to your new duties.
- <Character name>: Thank you, Prott. And what about you, Eir? What does your future hold?
- Eir Stegalkin: I am also headed for Lion's Arch. I'm meeting one of my former comrades from Destiny's Edge. We used to fight dragons together.
- <Character name>: I heard of them. In Hoelbrak, they still sing songs of their brave deeds. You took down a dragon lieutenant together, didn't you?
- Eir Stegalkin: In simpler times, yes. We...disbanded, but now I see that we...I have more to do. You helped teach me that, and I will always be grateful.
- <Character name>: After all you've taught me, it's only fair that I return the favor. Farewell, Eir. I hope to see you again someday.
Talking with your allies:
- Scholar Prott: Well done! You played a crucial role in saving both Ogden and the Priory. You have a promising future under your new mentor.
- Tell me more about my new mentor.
- She's whip-smart, fearless, and full of energy. You two should get along famously, though she tends to stir up trouble when she's bored.
- I look forward to meeting her. Thanks for everything, Scholar.
- I will, Scholar. And thank you.
- Eir Stegalkin: The dredge are defeated, their weapon destroyed. In the world beyond Hoelbrak, you'll face many more challenges.
- Now we must go to Lion's Arch. What do you think of it?
- A city of good fortune, and of heroes. We will find our future there, and I...will confront my past with Destiny's Edge. Then we will see if Tyra can truly be saved.
- Tell me more about Destiny's Edge.
- We were a deadly team. Human, charr, sylvari, norn, asura—fighting as a unit. In the arena or in the wild, we almost always won. Almost.
- What happened? Why aren't you together anymore?
- We lost a key member. In the aftermath, we simply stopped being a team. Fell apart. Made choices the others couldn't understand. Blamed each other.
- I hope you're able to reconcile...for all our sakes.
- I look forward to it.
- And between you, me, and the Priory, we may even defeat the dragons.
- Ogden Stonehealer: You've averted a catastrophe and saved the Priory. I've seen scores of heroes in my day, and I'd wager your name will soon be among them.
- Now that we've got a moment, tell me about your kind.
- Certainly. The least I can do is tell you about my people, since you saved my life. Ask away.
- I'd heard the dwarves were extinct. Are there many left?
- As a race of flesh and blood, we became extinct over 200 years ago. We made a great sacrifice to defeat the destroyers, servants of the Elder Dragon Primordus.
- I'd like to hear more about that.
- Our king protected us with a ritual. Unfortunately, it turned us to stone, immortal but not invulerable[sic]. It strengthened our spirits, and the few survivors fight far below the ground.
- I'd like to hear about something else.
- That's all I wanted to know, thanks.
- I'd like to hear about something else.
- That's all I wanted to know, thanks.
- What do you do at the Priory?
- The Priory desires knowledge. I am a living relic of the past, valuable to them in their quest to discover more about the Elder Dragons.
- I'd like to hear about something else.
- That's all I wanted to know, thanks.
- What happened to make the dredge hate you so much?
- We kept them as slaves, but we have long regretted this choice. After the ritual, we left the creatures behind to find their own way.
- I'd like to hear about something else.
- That's all I wanted to know, thanks.
- Nothing else, thanks.
- It was my pleasure.

Notes[edit]
- When the ritual is complete, the game's music silences leaving just character dialogue and sound effects heard until Vyacheslav and the Sonic Vaporizer are destroyed.
