Dialogue[edit]
In the instance[edit]
- Upon entering the instance
- <Character name>: Anyone on comms? Anyone seen Braham?
- Rytlock: (static)
- Rytlock: (grunt) Haven't found Ryland yet either.
- Rytlock: If this was the dragons contained...
- <Character name>: Braham! There he is!
- Braham: I'm— whoa... How am I not dead...?
- <Character name>: You did it, Braham.
- Braham: How many did we lose?
- <Character name>: A lot less than we would have if you hadn't done what you did.
- Braham: I'm good, Commander. I know I did what I had to do. Just need a second to remember... myself.
- <Character name>: Are the Spirits of the Wild still with you?
- Braham: They kept me from falling off the edge. Wasn't easy. They're gonna need time to recover.
- <Character name>: You need time, Braham. To rest. To heal.
- Braham: You are the biggest hypocrite I've ever met, Commander.
- Rytlock: Ryland, give it up—
- Crecia: Settle down! It's over!
- <Character name>: Stay with him. I'll go help Rytlock.
- On approaching the charr
- Crecia Stoneglow: It's time to face the legions' justice, Ryland.
- Rytlock Brimstone: You look like Skritt, cub. Jormag did a number on you. You're beat.
- Ryland Steelcatcher: Primordus's champion is lying in the dirt. You don't have a chance.
- At Ryland 70% health
- Crecia Stoneglow: Jormag, Bangar— you were just a tool. Can't you see? They made—
- Ryland: No one made me! I made myself. And I will never be unmade!
- Crecia Stoneglow: If Cinder saw you now, she'd gut you. Your warband sacrificed themselves for this?
- At Ryland 40% health
- Rytlock Brimstone: You're destroying yourself— cub, you can still come back.
- Ryland: My sire speaks! Like I'd take the advice of a shortsighted burnout who never had the steel to be imperator.
- Ryland: Or a dam who's content to live and die as nothing more than Bangar's shadow.
- Ryland: You're nothing to me! Less than nothing!
- At Ryland 10% health
- Crecia Stoneglow: Enough. Sit down and shut up.
- Crecia Stoneglow: You had everything. Pedigree. Talent. Limitless potential—
- Ryland: You never understood—
- Crecia Stoneglow: You're right, I don't. I was never some golden cub— nobody gave me anything. I had to EARN it!
- Ryland: You're just jealous—
- Crecia Stoneglow: I'm ashamed. Ashamed I bore you. Better to have bled you out and spared the world.
- Ryland: (yells)
- Crecia Stoneglow: (gasps)
- Rytlock Brimstone: (growls)
- Cutscene
- Rytlock Brimstone: I'm sorry...I'm sorry...
- Rytlock Brimstone: Nothing left to prove.
- End Cutscene
- Braham: He gave Ryland every chance to do the right thing.
- <Character name>: Sometimes there is no right thing. Let's give them time.
- Approaching your friends
- Aurene: I tried to contain the desolation. But I could not stop it.
- <Character name>: None of us could.
- <Character name>: Crecia and Rytlock saved the best future for the charr today. The legions will remember that.
- Braham: All that power... Two dragons— how are you feeling?
- Aurene: I felt such a rush of wild magic, but then some of it seemed to just... flow through me. There's still much I don't know.
- Gorrik: Wait. You're saying some of it's... missing?
- Taimi: We have research to do.
- Gorrik: We have research to do.
- Optionally talking to Braham
- Braham: The past few days are a blur. If not for the Spirits— and you— I'd be another body on the battlefield.
- You don't remember anything?
- Braham: Just glimpses. The Spirits did all they could to shield me from being completely overtaken by Primordus. But what I remember— the things I did— I don't think I can ever forgive myself. No one should.
- I can't speak for others, but...it was inevitable. There was no other way.
- The prophecy—
- Braham: Prophecies have a way of being right and wrong at the same damn time. I guess it's how you interpret them. I don't know. Either way, this "norn of prophecy" ain't gonna waste his second chance.
- I'm just glad you're back. (Ends conversation)
- Can I get a "KA-BRAHAM"?
- Braham: I may be exhausted and in a state of perpetual self-loathing right now, but that doesn't mean I can't muster up the energy to knock you on your ass, Commander. (pained laugh) Ow.
- Sounds like someone needs to rest. We'll talk later.
- You fulfilled the prophecy and came out alive. Rest up.
- Optionally talking to Warmaster Jhavi Jorasdottir
- Warmaster Jhavi Jorasdottir: Well, so much for Jormag. And Primordus.
- What now?
- How are you holding up?
- Warmaster Jhavi Jorasdottir: I'm holding it together, barely. Almorra left some big shoes to fill. Whether this is permanent or just for now, I don't really know. Work needs to get done, and right now I'm doing it. But I'm tired.
- I'm here for you, even just to listen.
- I'd call that a victory.
- Optionally talking to Gorrik
- Gorrik: Commander, these magic readings are spiking into the red zone. Our equipment can barely handle it!
- And?
- Gorrik: And...it can't be good. Whenever an Elder Dragon dies, the magic released wreaks havoc on the natural order. And we just caused two to die at once. This requires more analysis with Taimi.
- Have fun, you two.
- I'll expect pie charts and graphs in my mail.
- Optionally talking to Taimi
- Taimi: This event is unprecedented. Never in my life did I expect this to happen, much less be a part of it. I have to document everything!
- Glad to see at least someone is enthused.
- Taimi: How could I not be? Commander, our friends didn't give their lives for nothing. They brought us one step closer to fixing things. I have to be optimistic about that. Otherwise I'd cry.
- Keeping it together is hard sometimes. I know what you mean.
- You doing okay?
- Taimi: Are any of us? Look at...Rytlock over there. Crecia, Jhavi. We've all been through a lot, but especially them. Their pain isn't going away anytime soon. I'll...be fine. I'm just a little tired is all.
- I'll be here for you when you need me.
- How are things with Gorrik?
- Taimi: Amazing! I'm already formulating a schedule for our research. I anticipate we'll be spending a lot of time in the lab together. Working. On things.
- Uh-huh.
- Thanks for everything, Taimi. We'll catch up later.
- Optionally talking to Aurene
- Aurene: I didn't want to intervene, but I had to. The balance needed a push.
- We did it.
- Aurene: This battle is done, Champion, but our work isn't finished. Two Elder Dragons dying at once... I'm afraid Tyria will be deeply affected in the coming days. Brace yourself and be ready to act.
- I'll be ready.
- About Ryland...
- Aurene: It had to be done. But that won't ease Rytlock's pain, or Crecia's. They're both grieving, but his suffering is wrapped in a lifetime of complication. My intervention... led to this outcome.
- Ryland made his own choices. This isn't your fault.
- All that magic from Primordus and Jormag—
- Aurene: Out in the wild. I know. I braced myself to absorb it all, but most of it went elsewhere. I didn't expect that. Foresight is...unpredictable. I wish I'd known this ahead of time. Now, we wait.
- Waiting is the hardest part.
- You did what you had to.
At the Eye of the North[edit]
- Talking to allies
- Aife: The fear of Elder Dragons may be a thing of the past now. I could get used to this.
- You and me both.
- Chittukk: A victory for skritt. For everyone! Better life ahead, yes?
- Let's hope so.
- Councillor Phlunt: As I predicted, Primordus is now off the table, so to speak, and my forebears avenged. And it wouldn't have been possible without asuran research and support!
- You forgot the part about meddling and almost upsetting the balance.
- Dai Windrake: With Jormag's fall, our lands may be safe again. Thank you, Champion of Aurene. May we meet again in more peaceful times.
- I'd like that.
- Dulann, Luminate's Envoy: The victories of this day will go down in history, Champion. Though we tread unknown paths, I am sure that this is the future Glint wished for. That Aurene made real with all of us.
- I hope Glint sees this from her perch in the Mists.
- Efram Greetsglory: The death of these Elder Dragons won't end Flame's struggles, but for today let's celebrate a hard-won fight, Commander. Cheers to you.
- A toast to new allies.
- Frostbite: (chitter) (warble)
- Good to see you, too, Frostbite.
- Jonna: We won, and Ebonhawke stands firm. Another war is doubtless in the future, but for now I think we all can relax, if for a brief moment.
- Not a bad idea.
- Logan Thackeray: You came through. Again. Of course, this is the same person who cheated death to take down a vengeful god, so I think we knew how this would turn out. Take a vacation, maybe. You earned it.
- I think we both need a vacation.
- Lokka: Praise Aurene! I can hardly believe we made it through that battle. Another two Elder Dragons gone. And we couldn't have done it without you, Commander.
- Likewise. We couldn't have done it without the Crystal Bloom.
- Lord Faren: Two dragons at once, eh, Commander? I feel like there's a ribald joke in there somewhere. There's no limit for a hero like you, old friend! Now to plan our celebratory pub crawl. Where should we start?
- This sounds like a recipe for disaster.
- Ogden Stonehealer: I've not seen such heroism since the fight against the Great Destroyer! It's hard to believe that Primordus is finally dispatched after all these years.
- I think you've earned some rest.
- Rox: Hard to believe how much we've gone through, eh, boss? Or should I call you Dragon Slayer? Has more of an official ring to it.
- <Character name> is fine. And thanks for everything, Rox. Good to see you again.
- Sigfast: A legend ends and a slayer rises! Be sure to tell Braham to visit Hoelbrak when he's back on his feet. Ol' Whitebear will have to find space for all the celebration kegs. It'll be a moot for the ages!
- The last time Braham tied one on, he lost his mother's bow...
