Dialogue[edit]
- In the Eye of the North
- Aurene: Champion, the Arcane Councilor has arrived. They've reconsidered aligning with Jormag; they're willing to work with us. Come quickly.
- Upon entering the Scrying Pool
- Councilor Vark: Make no mistake: Primordus's death is our priority. Our intention was never to contribute to the...atrocity of the Frozen.
- <Character name>: We've all made mistakes. We just can't make any more.
- Taimi: Commander! We have a plan! Or the beginnings of one. First, Braham and the Spirits of the Wild did help even the odds.
- Councilor Vark: Fire and ice forces are clashing with increasing frequency. The death toll is staggering. It will only get worse.
- Taimi: There have been sightings. Of Braham. Leading packs of destroyers. Uh. Scary stuff.
- <Character name>: I watched him struggle with the fire. With himself. He got control, but...
- Aurene: The longer Braham is connected to Primordus, the more integrated they become... Until there's nothing left.
- <Character name>: His sacrifice is a gamble, but what choice do we have? Taimi, can we count on Primordus showing up?
- Councilor Vark: Research shows every location where the Frozen have appeared has a powerful ley line beneath it.
- Taimi: Pinpoint where the ley lines intersect and lure the dragons there. We do that? BAM! We force them to collide.
- Taimi: Our models revealed that Elder Dragons aren't just attracted to ley lines— they're literally magically connected to them.
- Aurene: Not a call, or a scent— but as if it's actually pulling me toward it... A tether. I suspect it pulls both ways.
- <Character name>: How can we change the direction of magic?
- Aurene: How do you change the shape of light?
- Taimi: (gasps) Prisms. If Aurene uses her prismatic powers to divert the magic—
- Aurene: I can tap into the ley line and cut Jormag and Primordus off from any magic not their own.
- Councilor Vark: And why exactly haven't we done this before?
- Taimi: This is a final measure. There will be no second chances. Aurene, are you sure you want to, uh...
- <Character name>: Get involved?
- Aurene: Braham walked willingly into fire. This is the least I can do.
- Aurene: The longer I sit out, the more loopholes Jormag finds. I still believe in the balance.
- Aurene: Just...maybe I can give the balance a push.
- Taimi: Our plan might even increase Braham's chance of surviving the, um, "afterclash" let's call it.
- <Character name>: Then let's get to work.
- In the Eye of the North
- Brek Harrowflight: Troops are on the field and awaiting your orders, Commander. I'll take you there. Just say the word.
Talking to Brek Harrowflight
- Brek Harrowflight: We're ready to airlift you to the combat zone, Commander.
- Take me to the battlefield. (Dragonstorm—Story)
- Take me to the battlefield. (Dragonstorm—Private Squad)
- As you were.
Optionally talking to Gorrik
- Gorrik: Another day, another dragon. Right, Commander? Uh, sorry. We're all a little nervous right now.
- Just relax. Let's go over the plan again.
- Gorrik: Right. Well, Jormag and Primordus are each other's weakness— like antisymbiotic organisms or polarized holomatrices.
- So we get them to clash and they'll destroy each other?
- Gorrik: That's the hope. However, Jormag is aware of this outcome and will move to avoid it. Thus, the plan: lure both to a ley-line nexus, then cut them off from their magic source.
- Then what?
- Gorrik: Imagine two immensely powerful magnets pulling toward each other combined with reactive balthazate. It'll trigger a feedback loop that hopefully destroys both.
- What about collateral damage? What are the risks?
- Gorrik: If our math is wrong, we could end up permanently tipping the balance— destroying only one and leaving the other incredibly overpowered. But it's a necessary risk...despite the magic fallout.
- I hope you double-checked your calculations.
- I think we're all feeling it right now. No shame in that.
Optionally talking to Warmaster Jhavi Jorasdottir
- Warmaster Jhavi Jorasdottir: We're putting everything we can into this. Let's hope it's enought.
- Let's hear the details.
- Warmaster Jhavi Jorasdottir: With the Arcane Council's data, our tacticians have pinpointed a ley-line nexus with increased dragon minion activity. We'll engage the minions to hopefully draw out the Elder Dragon champions.
- That will force the dragons to intervene.
- Warmaster Jhavi Jorasdottir: Exactly. Steelcatcher and Braham will bring their forces and we'll spring the trap. The dragons will have no choice but to intervene or risk losing their respective champion.
- Then what?
- Warmaster Jhavi Jorasdottir: We'll have to force the dragons into direct conflict. Jormag will try to avoid it, but with Aurene manipulating the ley lines, she can give them a nudge. We hope.
- It's our best shot.
- It'll have to be.
- Upon entering the Combat zone (Dragonstorm instance)

My story[edit]
|
“
Aurene called me to the Eye. She had visitors, and I knew this was important.
I walked in to find members of the Arcane Council bickering over the current situation, trying to deflect the blame for their Elder Dragon research resulting in Jormag getting the upper hand. They framed it as all in service of protecting themselves from the fire dragon threat, but anyone who was paying attention knew that their plan would cause collateral damage. Both Ryland and Braham had been wreaking havoc around Tyria. The loss of life was incalculable.
Regardless, we needed to end the current conflict as quickly as possible. Since the two Elder Dragons, Jormag and Primordus, are siblings (two faces of the same coin, some have said) we need them to focus their might against each other. Neither would naturally face the other in combat, so we'd have to lure them to the same spot and force them to fight somehow.
Ley lines course throughout Tyria like veins and arteries. Elder Dragons feed off ley-line magic, so the key would be to find a nexus where ley lines intersect and lure them to that spot. Then we'd use their champions—Ryland and Braham—to redirect the flow of magic away from the dragons and somehow use it against them, using prismaticite to change it. We cut the dragons off from their magic "food" supply, and they'd be forced to clash with each other for sustenance. This plan was crazy enough that it might work, but we had little time to ponder it before heading to the battlefield.
