Walkthrough[edit]
Upon entering the instance, head to the right of the curtain wall around the encampment, out to the overlook looking down to the docks below.
After meeting up with Carys and Tegwen, they will introduce you to the Pale Reavers, an elite group of Sylvari equipped with powerful firearms. You have a choice of either going "stealth mode" or "attack formation". Choosing stealth will grant you and all your allies stealth for an hour, although it does not apply to pets. Like all stealth, the effect will be lost when you begin attacking. The choice doesn't really matter though; the Pale Reavers are so powerful that pretty much every enemy in the mission dies in less than five seconds. It is therefore a good idea to try and keep the reavers alive since the mission becomes more difficult if they are killed. The reavers will only begin attacking when you do.
Make your way south to Pagga's camp and eliminate the Risen there. Approach the camp slowly since the risen are quite tightly packed.
Afterwards, head northwest to the docks, where two Veteran Risen Giants await. The Pale Reavers will make short work of them. Defeating the giants concludes the mission, and starts the final cinematic showing the boat arriving at the docks with the tanks.

Dialogue[edit]
Outside the gates of the camp:
- Tactician Beirne: If you're looking for Tegwen, follow the path along the outside of the wall. She's out on the ledge with the others. Watch your step.
- Crusader Deborah: Why'd you bring Allie? This is a scary place for a dog.
- Tactician Beirne: She wouldn't stay home even if I tied her to the gates of Divinity's Reach, would you girl?
Talking with the NPCs:
- Crusader Beirne: Welcome, Commander. The Pale Reavers are waiting for you out on the overlook.
- You've come a long way from fighting centaurs in Shaemoor. (if human)
- It's good to see another familiar face. Between you, me, Deborah, and Allie here, we'll make sure the human race gets its piece of Zhaitan.
- It'll be a trophy fit for Divinity's Reach.
- Thanks.
- Crusader Deborah: Welcome back to the front lines, Commander.
- Hey, sis. I'm glad to see you back in action. (if human with the Dead Sister storyline)
- Thanks to you, I'm fully recovered. I heard the Vigil was looking for fighters to take on the dragons, so here I am.
- Stay safe, sis. Now excuse me, I have a mission to attend to.
- Thanks.
Approaching Tegwen:
- Tegwen: Officer on site! Stand at attention!
Upon meeting up with Tegwen (cinematic):
- Tegwen: Greetings, Commander. Welcome to the Pale Reaver Company.
- <Character name>: Pale Reavers is an interesting name. I notice you're all sylvari.
- Tegwen: Because sylvari are immune to the curse of undeath, we've been given this dangerous mission. If we fail, we won't rise again.
- Carys: Tegwen and I have been to this part of Orr once before, when a cursed mirror sent us here. It's horrible, but recognizable.
- Tegwen: The Marshal has ordered us to seize the docks, so Pact war machines can be brought in by ship.
- Tegwen: My soldiers are trained in the art of stealth. If you want us to move invisibly, let me know.
- Tegwen: The camp to the south is our backup, but they havn't reported in. We need to check in there before we take the docks.
- Carys: I hope nothings happened to them, though by now I know better than to hope. Commander, will you lead the way?
After the briefing the sylvari discuss giants seen below (in-game cut scene):
- Crusader Afanen: That's one creepy-looking giant down there.
- Pact Scout Hywel: Two giants. Two definitely creepy-looking giants.
- Carys: C'mon. We can take two giants. Where's your sense of fun?
- Pact Scout Hywel: I left it back at the Grove. I could go back and find it...
- Tegwen: Time to go, soldiers. Commander, if you'd take the lead?
- Tegwen: Weapons out, team. We need to be ready for anything.
Talking to Tegwen about how to proceed:
- Tegwen: Standing by for your orders, Commander. How do you want us to proceed?
- Let's go in hot. Attack formation.
- Let's keep a low profile. Stealth formation.
- I'd like to know more about the Pale Reavers first.
- Marshal Trahearne himself had the initial idea. Once he realized that Zhaitan can't raise sylvari, he formed this squad to exploit that weakness.
- Why doesn't Zhaitan's magic work on sylvari?
- Unknown at present, but the Pact's top minds are working on it. If you ask me, we're just too new to Tyria. The Elder Dragons haven't figured us out yet.
- It's a mystery for another day. For now, we can use it.
- I'm ready to give your squad orders now.
- All right. As you were soldier.
- No change. Carry on as you are.
After giving an order (one of the following):
- Tegwen: Attack formation!
- Tegwen: Stealth formation!
Talking to yur allies:
- Carys: I'm pleased you're in charge this time. Tegwen knows I like sneaking up on my target, but she always chooses boring attack formation. I don't think she knows how to have fun.
- She's like me: she wants to keep everyone alive. Fall in, soldier.
- Crusader Afanen: Forming the Pale Reavers was a stroke of genius. We can do things and face risks that no one else can.
- Right. Now let's see what this team can do.
- Pact Scout Hywel: I've scouted the area as best as I can. The Risen ebb and flow so quickly it's hard to track their troop movements.
- We'll just have to be ready for whatever they throw at us.
Upon reaching the south post:
- Carys: Oh, no. It's a slaughterhouse. You'd think a well-defended camp like this would be safe.
- Tegwen: This is Orr. Nothing is safe. What troubles me is that this was supposed to be our backup.
- Tegwen: We can't head back to the docks until we clear this camp.
- Carys: And it's going to be twice as hard. Our backup just joined Zhaitan's army.
Entering a ravine on the way to the docks:
- Tegwen: I don't like the looks of this ravine. Stay sharp.
After defeating the giants on the docks (cinematic):
- Mangonel Gearstrip: Hail, Commander! Gear warband, reporting for duty — with siege engines in tow.
- <Character name>: Those tanks are amazing. You sailed with them all the way from Lion's Arch?
- Mangonel Gearstrip: Oh, that wasn't the hard part. Keeping myself dry the whole trip, now that was a problem. Cottonmouth — blarg!
- Carys: I've always wanted to ride one of these metal thingies into battle. I'm so excited.
- Mangonel Gearstrip: Now you're my kind of sylvari. We should grab a whiskey later.
- Tegwen: Back to the task at hand. Those tanks give us the tactical advantage we need to position Pact troops outside Arah.
- Tegwen: We'll finish unloading the war machines onto dry land, Commander. Once you're ready, meet us at the Western Colonnade.
Talking to your allies after the final cutscene:
- Crusader Afanen: So far, so good. And going forward, we'll back you up whenever you need us, Commander.
- Thanks, Afanen.
- Carys: I knew we could handle a couple of creepy giants. And now we've got all these charr tanks to play with. Look out, Zhaitan. Here we come!
- Good enthusiasm, soldier. Just lower the volume.
- Pact Scout Hywel: I'll never get used to the landscape here. It's all so...twisted. Orr's the only place I can think off that'll look better after a war.
- It'll be better without Zhaitan.
- Tegwen: Standing by for your orders, Commander. How do you want us to proceed?
- Let's go in hot. Attack formation.
- Let's keep a low profile. Stealth formation.
- At ease. The Pale Reavers did well. You should be proud.
- Thank you, Commander. We're off to a strong start, but this mission is far from over: having charr tanks and getting them to the Cathedral of Zephyrs are two different things.
- We can handle it. I'll meet you at the staging ground.

Notes[edit]
- The Pale Reavers now wield Heart of Thorns' sniper rifles instead of the weapon, which had a white, slow-moving projectile and knock-back, they wielded originally.
- It is possible to get stuck in the vehicles after you kill the Giants. It is advised to keep away from the dock on which they spawn.
