Walkthrough[edit]
Talk to Caithe. Then you have to set up the defenses. To do this, grab one of the 3 seeds, then plant it on the road near the top of the hill. Then repeat with the other two seeds. One seed is a seed turret, one is a mine launcher, and one is a mace turret thingy. You have to select what kind of turrets to set up. You don't have long to do it, so don't muck around. Put them on the slopey bit of the road near the top of the hill. This is the area you will be defending.
Then multiple waves of Nightmare Court will attack, you must defeat them all.

Dialogue[edit]
Upon entering the instance:
- Caithe: I am here, Valiant.
- Warden Llewyr: Firstborn Caithe! What are you doing in Caer Verdant?
- Caithe: The Valiant and I have come to save your life. Where is the prisoner?
- Warden Llewyr: Renvari? He's imprisoned, up on the hill. What's this all about?
Approaching Caithe (cinematic):
- Caithe: Warden, we have come to aid you.
- Warden Llewyr: Aid me? Firstborn, you honor me by visiting the caer, but I'm afraid I don't know what you mean.
- <Character name>: Warden Llewyr, we want to ensure the successful transfer of the Nightmare Court prisoner Renvari to the Grove.
- Warden Llewyr: By the Tree, that's fortunate news! We spotted the enemy gathering outside Caer Verdant only a few hours ago. They want him back badly. I fear they are planning a major assault.
- <Character name>: Then we will stand with you until the court is defeated. Renvari can be taken to the Grove once the danger has passed.
- Warden Llewyr: Thank you, both of you. It will be an honor to fight alongside a firstborn and a Valiant of the Wyld Hunt. Help us prepare the defenses; the attack will come soon.
- Caithe: I will leave "preparing the defenses" to you, valiant. My blades serve me well enough.
Speaking with your allies before the battle:
- Warden Llewyr: I don't have much time to talk, but I'll try to answer your questions.
- Who's this Renvari fellow?
- He's a ranking member of the Nightmare Court. A single-minded psychopath who loves to burn things.
- Can I ask you another question?
- Good to know. I'll be careful, thanks.
- Where's Renvari being held?
- In that cage over there, under constant guard. Honestly though, I'm not sure it'll hold him for long.
- Can I ask you another question?
- We'll get out of this alive, I promise.
- How are our odds?
- Not good. The Nightmare Court have several huntsmen with them-their pets are dangerous. Watch your back.
- Can I ask you another question?
- I'll be careful. Thanks for the warning.
- Actually, I'll get ready for the fight.
- Urais: Ready yourself, friend. With our force at half-strength, this is going to get ugly-fast.
- Why are you at half-strength?
- We'll be okay. Hang in there.
- Guard Dilys: Our time is short, I fear. What can I help you with?
- The warden said something about seeds?
- Ah, yes, turret seeds! A marvel of sylvari plant shaping. They grow into aggressive plants that defend an area.
- What kinds of seeds are they?
- Mortars heal friends or harm foes, while turret attacks draw enemy attention. The last one is an exploding mine.
- Wow, that's amazing. Thanks for the information.
- Understood. Thank you.
- Good luck in the coming fight. Farewell.
- Caithe: Focus. This is not a time to suffer a lapse of concentration.
- I'll be careful, Caithe. Thanks.
Interacting with the Prisoner Pod:
- Prisoner Pod: This transport pod holds Renvari, a dangerous member of the Nightmare Court.
- Is Renvari still alive?
- Upon closer examination, you see the material over the prisoner's chest rise and fall. Renvari is unconscious, but alive.
- Leave the pod alone.
- Leave the pod alone.
As the Nightmare Court approaches:
- Urais: Sir! Enemies are approaching!
- Warden Llewyr: Guards, defend the road. The rest of you, spread out and provide cover fire.
- Warden Llewyr: Assist Dilys with munitions on the upper ledge. For the Pale Tree!
Speaking with your allies during the battle:
- Warden Llewyr: Stand fast! Don't let them take the prisoner!
- Right!
- Caithe: Focus. This is not the time to suffer a lapse of concentration.
- I'll be careful, Caithe. Thanks.
As the battle progresses:
- Warden Llewyr: Hold you ground. Don't give an inch.
- Warden Llewyr: Rally yourselves, protectors of Caer Verdant! Our battle is not yet done.
- Warden Llewyr: The Nightmare Court shall not defeat us. Stand firm, Wardens!
- Nightmare Court Noble: Tear at our enemies. Render them into blood and screams.
- Caithe: We will teach the Nightmare Court their place.
After the battle (cinematic):
- Warden Llewyr: Thank the Mother Tree! The caer is safe, and the Wardens can now move Renvari to the Grove. Your help was invaluable.
- <Character name>: I'm sure the Nightmare Court is wondering what went wrong. It's satisfying to know they'll be fuming for a while.
- Caithe: I'll escort the Wardens and their prisoner to the Grove. Renvari will arrive unharmed. Although, if he doesn't cooperate with us, he may not remain that way.
- <Character name>: Would you check on Tiachren as well? He will want to be told how we're progressing. He missed Ysvelta so much.
- Caithe: Losing someone to the court is difficult. His pain will run deeper than the poison.
- Caithe: I will speak with Tiachren. Then I will meet you at the jail, and we will make Renvari tell us what he knows.
Speaking with your allies before departing:
- Warden Llewyr: Thank you again, <character name>. I was perplexed to hear Caithe speak well of...well, anyone! But now I see why she's interested in you.
- Why is it so strange that she speaks well of me?
- I apologize, I meant no insult. You're young, and Caithe is...demanding. It is rare that someone lives up to her expectations.
- I suppose. Good-bye, Warden.
- Thank you. Good luck bringing the prisoner to the Grove.
- Urais: You handled yourself admirably, <character name>! I'm honored to have fought at your side.
- Thank you! Good luck, Warden.
- Guard Dilys: Thank the Pale Tree! The Nightmare Court freezes the sap in my veins.
- I was glad to help, Dilys. Stay warm.
- Caithe: I'll aid the warden, and then head back to the Grove. You've done excellent work here.
- Thank you, Caithe. Farewell.
After speaking with Caithe:
- Caithe: Be ready, Valiant. We will speak again soon.
