Walkthrough[edit]

The mysterious mirror stolen by the skritt.

When you arrive you will see Carys, Tegwen, and Larra the Asura talking to Kispik the skritt trying to locate the mirror. Kispik will lead you into the skritt cave to find the mirror. First he will show you a statue, then a pile of dead golems.

After that, he will lead you deeper into the cave to the glazed mirror. Then Kipsik offers to give you the mirror if you fix the golems, so that the skritt can use the golems to fight off the destroyers. Golem parts and their locations:

  • Golem Body - on the south side of the square near the mirror
  • Golem Leg - in the tunnel north of the mirror, south of the pile of dead golems
  • Golem Arm - northeast of Larra
  • Golem Parts - from the "Part-Carrying Skritt" who has a green star above him.

Once you have given all the parts to Larra, she will fix the golems and then say that she wants to use the golems to kill the skritt. Talk to the golems and select either might, fury, or protection. This is the buff that the golems will get for the forthcoming battle. Once you make this selection, it is time to attack the destroyers.

There will be a destroyer fissure to the north of where the dead golem pile was. First a wave of destroyer crablings will attack. After that there will be a wave of destroyer trolls. Then finally, you will face veteran destroyer trolls. These trolls will burn you, so you will probably need healing and a way to stop from burning to death. Ranged attacks will probably help too. They are also immune to fire, so don't go in expecting to burn them with your fire spells.

Now return to the mirror to help Tegwen examine it. Tegwen will look into the mirror... then the mirror breaks and she is sucked into it. Naturally Carys is upset that her friend has gone missing again, and she asks the Valiant to decide how to get Tegwen back. You must choose which mission to do next, Carys's plan: A Vision of Darkness; or Larra's plan: Shattered Light.

Dialogue[edit]

As the skritt run past:

Skritt Forager: Running! Running! Keep running!

Upon approaching Larra, Tegwen, and Carys:

Carys waves at <Character name>.
Larra: You! Rat! Give us the mirror you picked up on the beach.
Kispik: Mirror? Kispik doesn't know mirror. What is?
Tegwen: Big. Rectangular. Silver. You can see your reflection in it? Have you seen it?
Kispik: Hmm. Wait. Maybe? Yes. Follow!

Speaking to your allies while they aren't talking to each other:

Carys: Why is everyone so impatient? These skritt are wonderfully cute!
Talk end option tango.png Cute and annoying.
Kispik: Follow! Now, now!
Talk end option tango.png Right.
Larra: Stupid skritt. They should be balled up and used to mop out earwax.
Talk end option tango.png Be nice. They're trying to help.
Tegwen: No wonder Larra loses patience with the skritt. Are they always this frantic?
Talk end option tango.png Something has upset them. I wonder what?

Stationary skritt:

Skritt Forager: Do not forget! Gather ALL the things!

Upon stopping by a statue on a column:

Kispik: Is mirror?
Carys: No Kispik. That's a statue.
Larra: Probably stolen, too. It's not as if the skritt are sculptors.
Kispik: Not stole. Found. Follow Me. Maybe mirror is over there.

More skritt quotes:

Skritt Forager: Quick, quick, from here to—yes!

Upon stopping by a statue at a pile of golem parts:

Kispik: Is mirror, maybe?
Larra: Those were golems, you gibbering ball of fur. Now they're just junk.
Tegwen: No, Kispik. That's not the mirror either. It's silver and shiny.
Kispik: Hm. Follow. We go deeper.

Yet another random skritt:

Skritt Forager: You, here. There. Now, we go!

Talking to the Part-Carrying Skritt:

Part-Carrying Skritt: Who you? You're new. You come to scratch to make trade?
Talk end option tango.png That's what were here for, little one.

Kispik leads the party down a corridor:

Kispik: Ah, now I can remember. Here. This is the mirror you are looking for?
Tegwen: Yes! That's the mirror. Can we have it?
Kispik: We can offer it in trade. If you fix these golems, the skritt will give you the mirror.
Kispik: We want the golems to defend our home against the fire-creatures. Is it a deal?

Discussing the situation (cinematic):

Carys: Strange. It sounded like Kispik suddenly became smarter. Is such a thing even possible?
Larra: More than possible. That's how skritt operate. When they're alone, they're dumb as an electrocuted rock. Get a few together, and their intellect improves.
Carys: Oh, wow! I wish sylvari got smarter like that!
Larra: Me too, fluff wit. Especially right about now.
<Character name>: Are you sure you can repair these golems, Larra? They look like a total mess to me.
Larra: Of course I can, but listen, I don't see why I should waste my time to save a hoard of shiftless scavengers. We're better off if the destroyers wipe out these thieving skritt.
<Character name>: You're getting ahead of yourself. First, we see if we can even fix the golems, and then we figure out what to do with them.
Larra: Fine. Get out of my way, you soft-hearted artichoke. This'll be a snap.

After the cinematic:

Larra: Search this squalid pit for the golem parts. Maybe I can make something out of them.

Talking with your allies:

Larra: I can fix these buckets of junk. See what these twitchy rats picked up. And make sure the idiots aren't wearing any parts as jewelry.
Talk end option tango.png Got it.
Carys: A real golem? Sometimes they trundle by with caravans along the village road, but I've never seen one up close.
Talk end option tango.png Don't get too excited. This might not work.
Tegwen: Interesting. The skritt know that these golem parts are important, but have no idea what to do with them.
Talk more option tango.png What do you know about destroyers?
Minions of the dragon Primordus. They come from underground, as mindless and destructive as Zhaitan's undead.
Talk end option tango.png That's awful.
Talk more option tango.png What are these golems and where did they come from?
Probably scrap parts from asura caravans. That, or golems sent here to harass the skritt.
Talk end option tango.png Makes sense.
Talk end option tango.png Seems like an odd sort of disconnect.
Kispik: Go find parts. You know which to use, yes?
Talk end option tango.png Tell me about the destroyers?
Very bad fire monsters. They come out of cracks in the ground and burn us to death. But they can't burn golems so easily!
Talk end option tango.png True, good point.
Talk end option tango.png I'll figure it out.

Talking to the Part-Carrying Skritt:

Part-Carrying Skritt: Golem important! Must fix, must fix! Destroyers coming. Golems must help, must fight!
Ferocity I don't have time to argue with an idiot. Give it to me! (forcibly takes the crate from the skritt)
Dignity Relax. I just need that bauble to fight the destroyers.
For true? Okay... is yours! You fix golems, yes? Make mean asura fix!
Talk quest option tango.png I will, and thank you.
Charisma You're very brave. We can help you. Just give that to me.
Brave? I can be brave. I will! Here, have part, I'll be brave!
Talk quest option tango.png Absolutely, little fellow.
Talk more option tango.png Can I have that, little one?
Why? It's mine!
Ferocity If you don't give it to me, we can't fight the destroyers.
Oh? Yes! Good! Use, and make destroyers go!
Talk quest option tango.png Will do.
Dignity I'm just trying to help you. I promise.
Okay. Take part. But no break. No break!
Talk end option tango.png[sic] I won't break it. Thanks.
Charisma You have so many shiny things. Can I see just that one?
Yes, many shiny things. So many... Here, you have this one. I have others.
Talk end option tango.png[sic] Excellent.
Talk end option tango.png Forget it. This'll never work.
Talk end option tango.png This is like watching short-attention-span-theatre. Bah.

Talking to the Skritt Lobber:

Skritt Lobber: Good, good, good. Do more! Do faster!
Talk end option tango.png Patience is a virtue, rat!

Upon giving the first part to Larra:

Larra: Aha! A quasiphasic reactor. This'll do nicely.

Upon giving the second part to Larra:

Larra: Hmph. These golems are barely functional. We'll be lucky if they don't tip over, explode, or tip over and explode.

Upon giving the third part to Larra:

Larra: Huh. I haven't seen a working arcomagic U-drive in years.

Upon giving the fourth part to Larra:

Larra: That's it! A crystal core. That's the last thing we needed.

Upon completion of fixing the golems (cinematic):

Larra: There we go. This golem's functional. Now then, shall I set its weapons for deep-fat-fry and point it at those annoying rats?
Tegwen: Larra, imagine you were back in the krait cage, waiting to be eaten. It's the same here. We must protect the weak from the merciless.

Speaking with your allies again:

Carys: Is it ready? Does it work? Turn it on—I want to see!
Talk end option tango.png Here we go!
Larra: What are you waiting for? Fire the golems up and let 'em loose.
Talk end option tango.png That does sound like fun.
Tegwen: You wouldn't really hurt the skritt, right? They haven't done anything to us.
Talk more option tango.png What do you know about destroyers? (same as above)
Talk more option tango.png What are these golems and where did they come from? (same as above)
Talk end option tango.png I'll do what I can.
Kispik: Golems ready? Hurry, make them attack the destroyers. We must begin the fight!
Talk more option tango.png Tell me about the destroyers? (same as above)
Talk end option tango.png Right.

Interacting with the golems:

BAT 9929: Operational. Power—levels—on—overload. Please—specify—energy—shunt: Might, Protection, Fury?
Talk more option tango.png Uh...let's go with Might?
Command—confirmed. Shunting—excess—power—to—munitions—overload.
Talk quest option tango.png Okay, then. Now, find and eliminate any destroyers in the area!
Talk more option tango.png Fury sounds like a good choice!
Command—confirmed. Shunting—excess—power—to—bluescreen—kill—mode.
Talk quest option tango.png Whoa...okay. Now, find and eliminate any destroyers in the area!
Talk more option tango.png Protection seems like a practical option.
Command—confirmed. Shunting—excess—power—to—defense—systems.
Talk quest option tango.png Okay, then. Now, find and eliminate any destroyers in the area!
Talk end option tango.png Power levels? Shunting? What who? Give me a second to think!

Interacting with the golems after setting their mode but not giving them the kill order:

BAT 9929: Systems—now—functioning—at—normal—capacity. Input—commands.
Talk quest option tango.png Okay, I'll command you: find and eliminate any destroyers in the area!
Talk end option tango.png I'll give you an answer in just a second.

Fighting the destroyers:

BAT 9929: Searching—for—destroyers.
BAT 9929: Destroyers—detected. Neutralizing—target.
Tegwen: Destroyers! Defend yourselves!

Speaking with your allies during the fight:

Carys: Time for the smashing!
Talk end option tango.png Get to it, then!
Tegwen: Hateful destroyers! Still, I'll take them over undead. Nothing creepier than wondering who a Risen used to be...
Talk end option tango.png Keep your mind on the task!

After defeating all three waves of destroyers:

Tegwen: That didn't take so long. Nicely done.
Tegwen salutes <Character name>.

Speaking with your allies once more:

Carys: That was fun! Now we get the mirror, right?
Talk end option tango.png That's the idea.
Larra: Done. Now let's look at that mirror Tegwen kept going on about.
Talk end option tango.png That's a good idea. Let's do that.
Tegwen: Let's have a look at that mirror. I'm excited to finally get my hands on it!
Talk end option tango.png After you.

Examining the mirror:

Tegwen: It's magnificent. Look at the detailing on the silver frame!
Tegwen: There's something moving inside the mirror, behind the...I...I can't quite see...
Tegwen: It looks like...why, that landscape...it looks like Orr!

Tegwen vanishes (cinematic):

Carys: What happened? Where did Tegwen go? Oh, brambles! Did the krait take her again? Valiant—help!
Larra: The krait are nowhere near us, you yammering salad. That mirror must be cursed. Tegwen looked into it and vanished.
<Character name>: That's definitely not good. Even if I knew how to undo a curse, this mirror's Orrian. It's far more powerful than I can handle.
Carys: We have to take it to Trahearne. He's studied Orr since the early days of the sylvari. He'll know how to help Tegwen.
Larra: Pfft. I was studying forced material transference long before that walking fern fell off the tree!
Larra: Come to my lab, instead. I'll locate your missing green bean and have her back here in no time.
Carys: You're very clever, Larra...but Trahearne's a firstborn...What do we do? Valiant—you decide.

Talking with your allies after the cinematic:

Kispik: It did what? Mirror is bad! You take mirror. Take! Don't want!
Talk end option tango.png I'll get rid of it, don't worry.
Carys: This is terrible. What do we do? Find Trahearne? He'll yell at us! Or... maybe Larra's idea has merit. I don't know! Valiant, what say you?
Talk more option tango.png We should let Trahearne know. I'm sure he can fix this.
Nobody knows more about Orr than Trahearne. But he'll be angry that we activated the mirror. Maybe we should fix the situation before we talk to him?
Talk more option tango.png Well, Larra did offer to reverse the mirror's magic. We could let her try.
Talk quest choice tango.png No, Trahearne can definitely help. Let's take it to him.
Talk end option tango.png I need to think about this situation a little more.
Talk more option tango.png Larra's right here, volunteering to help. We could take her up on that.
Larra's clever and knows a lot about magic. But how much does she know about Orr? Oh, <Character name>! I don't know what to do!
Talk more option tango.png Our other option is to take the mirror to Trahearne.
Talk quest choice tango.png I do. Let's take this to Trahearne.
Talk end option tango.png I need to think about this.
Talk end option tango.png Give me some time to ponder.
Larra: Why hesitate? Get the mirror to my lab, and zap, pow! We get your buddy back.
Talk more option tango.png How do you propose to do that, exactly?
Simple. That mirror's a planed teleportational bisect mobile, just like an asura gate. Who knows more about gateways than asura?
Talk more option tango.png Hm. Maybe we should talk to Trahearne first.
Talk quest choice tango.png A really good point. We'll do it your way.
Talk end option tango.png Let me think about this a bit longer.
Talk more option tango.png We should consult with Trahearne. He's a sylvari expert on Orr.
Look, I'm sure your plant buddy is very knowledgable about Orr or whatever, but this is about gates, not zombies, right?
Talk more option tango.png Fair. But how do you propose to get Tegwen back?
Talk quest choice tango.png Okay, I agree. We'll do it your way, Larra.
Talk end option tango.png I need a moment to think about this.
Talk end option tango.png Hang on. Let me think about this.

If you choose to take the mirror to Trahearne:

Carys: I'll get the mirror to Trahearne—you meet me there!
Talk end option tango.png I'll see you soon!
Larra: Figures. You peas stick close to the pod. Well, good luck with it.
Talk end option tango.png Thanks, Larra. Maybe I'll see you around.

If you choose to let Larra try instead:

Carys: Oh dear, oh dear. I hope Larra knows what she's doing.
Talk end option tango.png Help Larra get the mirror to her lab. I'll meet you there.
Larra: You made the right choice. I'll crack some books, and this dim-light and I will meet you at my lab.
Talk end option tango.png I'll be there soon.

My story[edit]

Mirror, Mirror.jpg

The mirror is dangerous! We got it back from the skritt, but as Tegwen was inspecting it, the magic activated and pulled her thorugh[sic] a portal to Orr. We have to get her back!
