Walkthrough[edit]
Upon entering the instance, you'll find yourself cruising along in Sayida's airship towards the Xunlai Jade junk yard. After some dialogue, one group of Aetherblades will appear on the deck. Kill them.
A short time later, a second group of Aetherblades with an Elite Aetherblade Taskmaster will also appear. This time Ayumi's scouts eliminate all except the elite. After killing the elite, the airship arrives at the edge of the junk yard. Jump out (gliding is now enabled). Proceed to Ankka's airship - at this point you can optionally take a detour to gain some high ground, then glide down onto Ankka's airship deck for the Boarding Party achievement (do note however that this achievement can result in the possible death of the character due to fall damage as Ankka shoots you out of the sky, which will disqualify you from earning Unruffled).
When you reach Ankka, she will turn aggressive and the fight begins. Her skills are listed below.
- "Enbalming Barrage" - looks like grenades, inflicts Poisoned
- "Enbalming Shot"
- "Hallucinating Shot"
- "Death's Hand" - inflicts Torment
- Occasionally summons a Hallucination which uses "Terrifying Apparition" & "Wall of Fear"
In terms of skills to avoid, Hallucinations will quickly overwhelm the player if allowed to get too close. You will be constantly poisoned during the fight due to Enbalming Barrage. Ranged condition damage builds seem to work well versus Ankka.
Ankka will retreat at 75% and 40%. At 0% the fight phase will complete.
Completing the fight without being downed will reward the Unruffled achievement. Completing the fight in less than 7 minutes will award the Quiet Death achievement. Taking the Aurene buff will disqualify you from both of these combat achievements.
As directed by Marjory, follow Ankka down into the tunnel on the north side of the arena. Listen to the dialogue and then check in with Gorrik. The Extractor unfortunately explodes during the ensuing dialogue.
Interacting with the wreckage in the furthest northwest corner will award the Things Were Different Back Then achievement.
Interacting with the wreckage east of your allies will trigger the final dialogue and complete the story, awarding the achievement Empty if this is the first time the episode has been completed on the player's account.

Dialogue[edit]
- Starting the instance
- Detective Rama: Remember, we want to detain her. If we can present Ankka and her Extractor to Minister Li–
- Marjory Delaqua: We can prove our innocence, and then use the extractor to drain the Void from Soo-Won.
- Gorrik: Look, Ankka–we can't–she's too dangerous. Do you understand?
- <Character name>: We do. But she left us with very few options and that Extractor's our best shot at saving Soo-Won. Ayumi, see anything?
- Ayumi: No. But do you really think I'd keep it to myself if I did?
- Canach: Well, it's nice to see everyone in such a good mood.
- Gorrik: She lied to us! To me! Kidnapped. Threatened. She's a–a monster.
- Sayida the Sly: You don't have to convince us, Gorrik. We're already on board. Everyone clear on the plan?
- Detective Rama: Not much of a plan.
- <Character name>: Yes, we're clear: the Aetherblades attack, we repel, then take Ankka alive and secure the Extractor.
- Canach: I'm no expert, but wouldn't we have a better chance of success with more...what do you veterans call them? Specifics?
- Sayida the Sly: Shut up, Canach.
- Canach: I mean it, by the way. This good mood? It's infectious.
- When the enemy Aetherblade ships appear in the sky
- Ivan: There! Aetherblades on the approach! Two groups going around you.
- Ayumi: My Kestrels are almost in position.
- Detective Rama: You brought backup?
- Ayumi: It's not backup if they were part of this from the start.
- After clearing the first Aetherblade group and the second group with the elite appears
- Elite Aetherblade Taskmaster: Surrender this ship to the Aatherblades and we'll let you live!
- Gorrik: Where's Ankka? She too much of a coward to fight us herself?
- Elite Aetherblade Taskmaster: Hey! No one talks about the captain like that and gets away with it!
- Gorrik: She isn't a captain! She's a common thief, no better than you!
- Elite Aetherblade Taskmaster: So you're not gonna surrender? We've got you outnumbered six to one.
- Ayumi: Hold that thought.
- (orange sniper beams appear and the group accompanying the elite are taken out, leaving only the elite)
- Detective Rama: Hey, look at that. Six to one.
- After defeating the elite
- Elite Aetherblade Taskmaster: All right, uh... In exchange for Ankka's location, I'll need some...compensation.
- <Character name>: I'm not sure that's your best play. Tell us where she is.
- Elite Aetherblade Taskmaster: Uh. Right. She's uh...
- (a group of risen appear around the elite and attack him)
- Elite Aetherblade Taskmaster: AUGH! Captain, no! I didn't tell! I didn't–!
- When the elite has died
- Detective Rama: Ah, damn it! Where is she?
- Marjory Delaqua: She can just keep throwing these undead goons at us from anywhere in the disposal yard!
- Kestrel Scout: They're... They're everywhere! Run! Everybody–! (static)
- Ayumi: Come in! Kestrels, fall back, whever you are, retreat!
- Marjory Delaqua: Like I was saying–!
- Detective Rama: We stay here, we'll be fighting these corpses until we join 'em.
- Gorrik: Wait. If Ankka indeed brought the Extractor, I may be able to detect it!
- Gorrik: Got it! Aurene's energy signature–right in the center of the disposal yard. C'mon!
- After disembarking
- <Character name>: Sayida, Canach, you should leave while you can.
- Canach: I could pretend I want to fight you on that, but I respect you too much.
- Sayida the Sly: See you on the other side of this, Commander!
- Detective Rama: Where do you find these people?
- Marjory Delaqua: In jail, usually.
- Reaching Ankka's ship
- Gorrik: Ankka!
- Ankka: I'm going to have to ask you to call back that ship, Commander.
- <Character name>: You and I both know that's not going to happen.
- Ankka: What if I killed you, brought you back, and forced you to make the call? Hm. No, you've already died.
- Ankka: Gorrik, then. You'll appreciate it. Like how you hook an electrode to a dead roach so their nerves twitch.
- <Character name>: You don't scare us.
- Ankka: And that's why the cheap seats love you so much. It takes more than an inescapable apocalypse to ruffle your feathers.
- Ankka teleports down into the arena (this dialogue occurs earlier if the Commander dies during an attempting boarding of Ankka's ship)
- Ankka: Fortunately, science always has a solution.
- During the fight (depending on Ankka's actions)
- Marjory Delaqua: She's summoning help! Don't let those things touch you!
- Detective Rama: What's she shooting at us?
- Gorrik: Some kind of hallucinogen! You have to fight through it!
- Detective Rama: She's pulling us in!
- Marjory Delaqua: Stay as far from her as you can! Run!
- Gorrik: Watch out for the–tentacles!
- Ayumi: Yes, we know!
- Detective Rama: Those things on the ground–what are they?
- Marjory Delaqua: Necrotic energy! It'll suck the life out of you.
- Detective Rama: Right, so: avoid them. Got it.
- Marjory Delaqua: More of those undead trying to get the drop on us!
- Ayumi: Just keep moving!
- Detective Rama: Those...necrotic things on the ground–watch your step!
- Detective Rama: It's that toxin again!
- Ayumi: What do we do?
- Gorrik: Same advice as before: fight through it!
- Detective Rama: Wait, what's she doing now?
- Marjory Delaqua: Pulling more Void magic out of the jade.
- Gorrik: And using it to manifest new creatures. Focus on them!
- Ayumi: More of those tentacle things!
- Gorrik: I know, I know!
- At 75% when Ankka becomes invulnerable and teleports away
- Ankka: You know what the worst thing is? You actually think stopping all this would be a victory.
- <Character name>: Ending the dragon cycle will save countless lives!
- Ankka: You did end it–congratulations. Now live with the consequences. The Void is literally filling the void you made.
- Gorrik: If we can stop its corruption, we can–
- Ankka: Alchemy, you don't get it. Every change you make changes something else.
- Ankka: You've never stopped the apocalypse, you just kept trading up. And now it's time to pay the bill.
- At 40% when Ankka becomes invulnerable and teleports away
- Ankka: Wow. Gorrik, I'll be honest. I thought you would handle this better.
- Gorrik: You kidnapped me. Tried to kill us. You used our...relationship. To betray me.
- Ankka: I'm sorry that's what you thought. But I figured, more than anyone, you'd understand what I'm doing.
- Gorrik: Ankka, for the first time in my life, I understand exactly what you're doing.
- Ankka: Good. Then you shouldn't hold this against me.
- As Ankka encircles the arena with Void magic
- <Character name>: What are you–? That's Void magic!
- Ankka: What's the matter? You think you can stop it, right? Then this shouldn't be a problem for you.
- Ankka: Soon, the whole world's gonna look like this. Trust me, I don't like it any more than you.
- <Character name>: Then stop fighting and help us!
- Ankka: This is it. Do you understand? A tyrannical lich, a demented god, and five Elder Dragons later, all that's left is the Void.
- Ankka: An emptiness with purpose. Just my kind of apocalypse.
- Upon defeat
- Ankka: Why can't you all just...enjoy it? The end?
- Marjory Delaqua: Commander. That passage.
- Entering the passage on the north side of the arena
- Gorrik: Gotta be where she's hiding the Extractor.
- Ankka: You, the Inquest, Joon. Why's everyone want to play god?
- Ankka: Everyone fails. Every time. Just embrace the end that you earned and let the world reset.
- Reaching Ankka (cinematic)
- Ankka: You're no fun. Gorrik used to be fun. Mai Trin... What happened to you people...?
- Ankka: You can't fix anything by playing it safe. You have to burn it down...so something better can grow in its place.
- Ankka: Heh. Heh heh...
- Ankka: Alchemy. All I ever wanted was a little stimulation... Is that so much to ask...?
- (Ankka expires)
- After the cinematic
- Gorrik: Ankka...
- Speaking with Gorrik
- Gorrik: S-sorry, I, uh... I thought...
- Gorrik: I just...thought I'd feel better. When, you know... When justice was–when it was done.
- <Character name>: This is... When it's someone you know who hurt you? There's no closure. Not until you decide it's time to move on.
- Gorrik: I think...I'm tired of feeling like this. Yeah.
- Moving towards the extractor
- Detective Rama: So...the Extractor?
- Gorrik: Right. Knowing Ankka, she had a contingency plan.
- Gorrik: Looks like she set it to overheat without a proper biometric scan. I can probably deactivate it.
- Gorrik: Mm. Probably.
- Marjory Delaqua: Gorrik.
- Gorrik: It's not...stopping. It's not–
- Gorrik: Aah–! Get away from it!
- Ayumi: Look out!
- (device explodes)
- Afterwards
- <Character name>: Oh, no... Everyone all right? Gorrik? Jory?
- Marjory Delaqua: Fine. How did we not see that coming?
- Detective Rama: Can we–I don't know, can we fix it?
- Ayumi: Doesn't look like it. Gorrik?
- Gorrik: We'd have to learn how it works. It would take too long. There's only one person who can fix this...and she won't.
- Marjory Delaqua: Joon. What if we could prove that Ankka was the one behind the attack? Provide some evidence?
- Detective Rama: Well, for starters, Ankka's dead. Secondly, your evidence just blew up.
- Gorrik: The Extractor blew up, but we don't need the whole thing.
- Gorrik: If the Extractor's core is still in one piece, it should still have residual Aurene magic stored in there!
- Marjory Delaqua: And we can show that to MinSec. Plausible deniability. Nice thinking, Gorrik.
- Gorrik: And so the apprentice detectie finally becomes the master, huh?
- Marjory Delaqua: Mm. No.
- Gorrik: Okay.
- Marjory Delaqua: But as a sleuthing partner? You're not half bad.
- Interacting with the extractor parts right beside Gorrik
- (anonymous): The main components of the extractor are completely unrecoverable.
- Hopefully something–anything–survived.
- Interacting with parts besides the main component
- (anonymous): This looks like what used to be a control console.
- No way this will work now.
- By the crates slightly south
- (anonymous): Ankka.
- ...
- Listening to the voice recorder in the northwest corner (for Things Were Different Back Then)
- Ankka: Thanks for seeing me. I didn't know who else to turn to.
- Ankka: I'm still getting the hang of this pirate business. It's been...tough.
- First Mate Horrik: You're doing just fine, little Ankka. Relax!
- First Mate Horrik: Feel the breath of the wind; taste the salt of the sea! Swashbuckling's about being free!
- Ankka: Being...free?
- First Mate Horrik: Aye! We go where we want, do as we please. No gods. No masters.
- Ankka: It's a dangerous life, though. What we do.
- First Mate Horrik: We all gotta die one day.
- First Mate Horrik: This old sea dog'll go out in a glorious blaze, blade-to-blade with a worthy foe.
- First Mate Horrik: Ah... Captain!
- Captain Mai Trin: At ease, Horrik. Are we prepared for voyage?
- First Mate Horrik: Aye.
- Captain Mai Trin: Good. And who might you be?
- Ankka: Crewmate Ankka, ma'am!
- Captain Mai Trin: Ahhh... Thaumanova, right? Glad to have you aboard, Ankka.
- Captain Mai Trin: We've got big plans, and it won't hurt to have another Inquest engineer aboard.
- Ankka: Thank you! I won't let you down, Captain!
- Interacting with the extractor parts just to the right of the voice recorder
- (anonymous): Looks like only a few tiny pieces flew in this direction.
- Guess I should check another way.
- Interacting with the extractor parts further to the right of the voice recorder
- (anonymous): A few scraps of the extractor. There is nothing usable here.
- Let's keep looking...
- Interacting with the extractor parts by the column northeast of your allies
- (anonymous): This is the main casing for the extractor's turret.
- Search inside for the core.
- (anonymous): There is nothing inside. The core must have come loose when the casing hit the wall.
- Where would it have landed...
- Not quite what we need.
- Interacting with the extractor parts east of your allies
- Gorrik: That's it! Let's... Yes, see? Aurene's magical signature, right there!
- Detective Rama: Okay. That's enough evidence for me. Let's get this in front of MinSec.
- <Character name>: I'll go with you. Make sure it's clear I stand by the evidence. Once that's done, we'll go see Joon together.
- Marjory Delaqua: Is that wise–going to MinSec? Minister Li may interpret the evidence differently. To suit hit...preconceptions.
- Detective Rama: It doesn't matter how he interprets it. We have laws, we uphold them. Li will have to accept this.
- Ayumi: You say that with seeming conviction.
- Detective Rama: I've had a lot of practice. Commander, I'll meet you at MinSec HQ.
