Rewards[edit]
Walkthrough[edit]
Read your mail to start the chapter.
Optionally, head back to your racial capital city to buy a present for Rama (locations listed below under the Pleasant Present achievement.). Go to the Red Duck Tea House and enter the instance. An easy way to reach the tea house is to take a Jade Tech Teleporter to Soojung Heights. Give Rama his present (if applicable), then chat with Rama and Gorrik or sample the party foods to fill the event bar. Interacting with (sampling not necessary) all the food will complete the Don't Mind if I do! achievement. When the bar is full, Taimi will call with a message. Listen to her call, take a look at the paperwork Gorrik has prepared, and listen to the rest of the conversation. After the conversation is done, you can talk to Rama and Gorrik again, finish the "Don't Mind If I Do" or "Party Animal" achievements, or simply exit the instance.

Dialogue[edit]
Detective Rama You're Invited Hey, friends, Enjoying the peace and quiet lately? Me neither. What in the world do people DO? If you've been missing my company lately (you know who you are!), meet me at the Red Duck Tea House for food and drinks. I already ordered lots of sushi. And some good food, too.—Rama PS: Sorry for the generic invite, but there are a lot of you, and paperwork isn't my thing anymore—I'm retired. |
- At the Red Duck Tea House
- Gorrik: ...haven't seen Marjory in weeks. She's up to her cochleas in event planning. Did you invite Captain Min?
- Detective Rama: (sighs) Yes. What about Taimi?
- Gorrik: I'm not sure. She's been busy researching with Lady Joon. Biomechetronics, alternative energies... Fascinating tech!
- Gorrik: Commander, glad you made it! You look...exhausted.
- <Character name>: So what's all this about?
- Gorrik: Wait, are you getting engaged, Rama?
- Detective Rama: Yeah. Surprise. I'm getting married. To that sushi roll.
- Gorrik: But you don't like sushi. Is that heart shaped?
- Detective Rama: You should be a detective. Now, please, eat. I sure don't want it.
- Catching up with Rama
- Great to see you. Glad you showed up, at least.
- I brought you something from home as a thank-you for planning this. (If you have collected a gift for Rama)
- You got this...for me? Thank you, Commander.
- You're welcome.
- You got this...for me? Thank you, Commander.
- Hoping for a bigger turnout?
- Detective Rama: There's some folks I wished were here. But people are busy. Cleaning up. Traveling. Running a government agency. I get it.
- See you later, Rama.
- Catching up with Gorrik
- Great to see you, Commander. Quite a party, isn't it?
- How's Taimi?
- Gorrik: Joon keeps her quite busy—and she wouldn't have it any other way! Though I do wish she'd take more breaks...
- Talk to you later, Gorrik.
- Interacting with an Appetizer or the Heart-Shaped Sushi
- A variety of delectable appetizers are set on the table for Rama's guests.
- This looks tasty. I'll take some.
- I think I'll pass.
- Interacting with a Tea
- A variety of high-quality tea blends sit on the table for Rama's guests.
- I could go for a drink. I'll take one.
- I think I'll pass.
- Proceeding with the party
- Gorrik: Speaking of the detective agency— Oh, it's Taimi!
- Gorrik: I'm putting you on broadcast. I'm at Rama's party. With the commander. And Rama.
- Taimi: Oh. Right, right. Sorry I couldn't make it.
- Taimi: So...listen to this: Yao told Joon that the Jade Brotherhood discovered some super high-powered jade deep in a mine.
- Taimi: But... Yao told ME Chul-Moo said something strange is going on. Aggressive creatures. Missing Brotherhood. Sounds like—
- Gorrik: An opportunity!
- Taimi: I was gonna say "a problem," but—
- Yao: It IS a problem. A disturbing one. I'm going to check it out. Who are you talking to? Is that Gorrik—
- Gorrik: Okay, talk to you later, Taimi. THIS IS IT! WE'RE DOING THIS! The Friends Detectives—
- Detective Rama: Wait, wait. You can't just DECIDE you're a detective agency. This is Cantha. There's paperwork.
- Gorrik: I filed the application weeks ago. Copies are on the table. Look.
- On inspecting the Application Forms
- <Character name>: "The Ministry of Investigatory Services hereby grants the Friends Detective Agency, a Dually Recognized Partnership..."
- Detective Rama: But nobody's hired us to do anything. Who'll pay us? And that name is terrible!
- Gorrik: We can discuss the name later. More importantly, we need to build a reputation.
- Gorrik: Besides, if there's a new power source, shouldn't we know about it?
- Gorrik: Or do you think we can trust the Brotherhood to do the right thing?
- Gorrik: And what if Yao gets into trouble? We can help! Right, Commander?
- <Character name>: (sighs) You're not wrong.
- Gorrik: Think of the exposure! I can lead the investigation. With your input, of course. We'll have cases pouring in in no time!
- Detective Rama: (sighs) Well, this party is a complete bust. Let's head to the mine. Take some food with you. It's paid for.
- Speaking to Rama
- Hey, Commander. Glad you made it.
- (If you didn't catch up with Rama earlier, the two dialogue options above will also be available here)
- How do you feel about this detective agency idea?
- Detective Rama: I don't know. Part of me thinks I should just take a vacation. Other part of me thinks I'd just get bored. So...why not?
- What do you think about Gorrik being a detective?
- Detective Rama: Well, Marjory vouches for him. And he's a smart guy—
- Gorrik: Thank you, Rama! I'm certain we'll—
- Detective Rama: But book smarts aren't everything. Guess we're gonna find out if I can coach him up... I will say this: he's persistent.
- What do you think of Yao?
- Detective Rama: Resourceful. Ambitious. Though I get the impression they've got a lot goin' on. Not so sure about the company they keep.
- Detective Rama: Uh, sorry, I don't mean you.
- Any concerns about helping the Brotherhood?
- Detective Rama: Don't trust them one bit. Especially Chul-Moo. He only joined the fight when it meant survival for him and his own.
- Talk to you later, Rama.
- Speaking to Gorrik
- That was exciting, wasn't it?
- (If you didn't catch up with Gorrik earlier, the dialogue option above will also be available here)
- Seems like the agency is coming together.
- Gorrik: Just waiting on the actual license, then we'll officially be in business! I do sense some reluctance on Rama's part—
- Detective Rama: (coughs) Terrible idea.
- Gorrik: —but I'm convinced that once we begin our investigation, he'll come around.
- Gorrik: Marjory hasn't responded to my daily updates—I believe she has other priorities at the moment. Understandably.
- Gorrik: I will contact Ivan if we have need of a ship. Or a cat sitter. But Rama and I can handle things for the foreseeable future.
- You're spearheading things for the agency? Gunning for lead detective?
- Gorrik: I wouldn't say that, necessarily. This is an agency comprised of friends!
- Gorrik: But I've worked alongside a number of impressive leaders, yourself included. And, well, I'd like to try my hand at it!
- First Jory, and now you get to learn the tricks of the trade from Rama?
- Gorrik: Yes! Though he's been a bit distracted.
- Detective Rama: Uh-huh. Hey, is she here yet?
- Gorrik: This investigation should provide an opportunity for Rama to focus and for me to observe and learn.
- Talk to you later, Gorrik.
- Speaking to the Waiter
- What can I do for you?
- So...how's business?
- Waiter: People feast when they're happy. Gorge themselves when they're sad. When life seems unpredictable, they eat their fears.
- Waiter: We're extremely busy these days.
- How long have they been here?
- Waiter: The talkative one arrived a short time ago. The handsome one has been here for some time. Seems a bit nervous.
- What's with the heart-shaped sushi?
- Waiter: Ah, yes. A special order, requested it be just so. Exquisite work by our chef, though the gentleman refused to taste it.
- Nothing. Sorry to bother you.
