Zeal

• Wrathful Spirit — Aegis grants boons when it ends.
• Shattered Aegis — When an aegis you applied blocks an attack, it unleashes a Mystic Rebuke.

Valor

• Steadfast Courage — Gain protection when you block an incoming attack with aegis.
• Redemption — Cast Lesser Litany of Wrath when you activate Virtue skill 3.
• Might of the Protector — Gain might when you block attacks.
• Altruistic Healing — Heal yourself when you grant a boon to an ally.
• Tenacious Defense — Aegis you grant reduces the recharge time of Virtue skill 3 when it blocks an attack.

Honor

• Pure of Heart — Aegis heals when it blocks an attack.

Virtues

• Inspired Virtue — Virtues apply boons to allies when activated. Deal increased strike damage for each boon on you.
• Unscathed Contender — Strike damage dealt is increased while you have aegis. Strike damage dealt is increased while you are above the health threshold.
• Virtue of Resolution — Gain resolution when you activate a Virtue. Resolution you grant has increased duration.
• Inspiring Virtue — Strike damage dealt is increased after activating a virtue.
• Power of the Virtuous — Gain condition damage based on your vitality. Virtues gain reduced recharge.
• Indomitable Courage — The active effect of Virtue skill 3 breaks stun and grants stability to nearby allies. Its passive effect gains a shorter interval.

Firebrand

• Purity of Word — Gain knowledge of Elonian lore, igniting a fierce drive to purge corruption and manifesting your Virtues as mystic tomes. Gain access to Mantras. Using Tome skills consumes pages. You regenerate pages every interval.
• Archivist of Whispers — Your Virtues gain additional pages.
• Swift Scholar — Equipping a Virtue grants you quickness. Every third Tome skill grants you pages. Stacks reset when exiting a tome. Quickness can only be gained once per interval
• Stalwart Speed — When you grant aegis or stability, grant quickness. This can affect multiple targets simultaneously.
• Stoic Demeanor — Retain Courage passive while it is on cooldown. Grant boons to nearby allies when you disable, immobilize, or slow an enemy. Disables include stun, daze, knockback, pull, knockdown, sink, float, launch, taunt, and fear.

Notes

• Like Virtue of Courage, grants  Aegis for 20s when the tome is activated.
• Applies the  Tome of Courage effect on the player character.
• When activated, this skill applies the  Dormant Courage effect on the player character.
  • The effect lasts for 75s, or 63.75s with  Power of the Virtuous traited.
  • Furthermore, the skill icon changes to the same icon as the Dormant Courage effect for the effect duration.

Patch	Changes
February 14, 2023	Exiting a firebrand tome will now put that tome on a 0.5-second cooldown.
December 13, 2022	A tome's dormant status will now also be visible on the tome activation skill. Fixed an issue that caused firebrand tomes' page-generation timer to stop while the player was mounted or downed.
November 29, 2022	The page mechanic for firebrand tomes has been reworked. Pages are now shared across all tomes and refill at a set interval instead of when summoning a tome.
March 09, 2021	Fixed a bug that caused this skill to grant a stack of stability from the Indominable Courage trait even when the trait was not equipped.
December 11, 2018	The base cooldown of this skill has been increased from 50 seconds to 75 seconds.
November 07, 2017	Firebrand tome skills now set each other on a 0.5-second cooldown upon equip.
September 22, 2017	Path of Fire release: Tome of Courage has been added to the game.

Trivia

• This tome was added with the launch of Path of Fire on September 22, 2017. Prior to the June 23, 2015 update, guardians had an elite tome skill Tome of Courage, which provided healing and protection skills.
• During the second stresstest phase, after the original beta weekends, the skills cast time has been reduced from 0.75 to 0.25 seconds. This is an undocumented change and it is unclear whether or not this was intended.
