Walkthrough[edit]
After speaking with Fyon, several ghosts will spawn. Kill them.
Travel through the ruins, killing or avoiding the ghosts. There are several statues throughout the ruins which can be attacked and destroyed as well. While most of the statues offer no benefit, one (located in the area where Fyon refers to a "ghost patrol") will spawn a Veteran Ascalonian Keeper when destroyed. While the Keeper is alive, the nearby pillars will occasionally discharge, instantly downing one of your allies. The pillars shatter once the Keeper is killed.
Warmaster Kaylar is a fairly simple veteran boss. Kill him, then finish the mission by talking with Fyon.

Dialogue[edit]
Speaking to your sparring partner before speaking to Fyon:
- Clawspur: What a pit. Let's recruit Fyon, kill as many ghosts as we can, and call it a day.
- This is a lot of ghosts! Have you ever seen so many?
- Hot spot. The Decimus Stones, where warmasters were buried. No wonder the ghosts here fight twice as hard.
- I'll keep that in mind.
- My thoughts exactly. Let's go.
- Dinky: Old isn't dead. Old isn't dead! There's a difference! Why doesn't Fyon get that?
- There are a lot of ghosts in here.
- The Decimus Stones area is a hot spot where warmasters were buried. No wonder the ghosts here fight twice as hard.
- Keep your eyes open.
- Hopefully, he'll figure that out and join our warband.
- Euryale: All this effort for one old ghost-hunter? Fyon better be worth the trip to this miserable cesspool.
- There are a lot of ghosts in here.
- The Decimus Stones area is a hot spot where warmasters were buried. No wonder the ghosts here fight twice as hard.
- Right. Let's move out.
- If half of what Rytlock said about Fyon is true, he will be. Let's move out.
- Maverick: Old age should be like fine whiskey—you just get stronger and better with each year. Instead, it's like stale beer. You end up kind of stale and nobody wants you.
- There sure are a lot of ghosts in here.
- The Decimus Stones area is a hot spot where warmasters were buried. No wonder the ghosts here fight twice as hard.
- Great. Let's go.
- Whiskey also mellows with age. I hope Fyon still has some bite left in him.
- Reeva: Some of these old soldiers have seen a lot. I hope this Fyon character knows how to tell a good war tale.
- There sure are a lot of ghosts in here.
- The Decimus Stones area is a hot spot where warmasters were buried. No wonder the ghosts here fight twice as hard.
- Good to know.
- I hope he can provide more than just bedtime stories. Move out.
Cinematic with Fyon the Wraith:
- <Character name>: Fyon the Wraith? Rytlock Brimstone sent me.
- Fyon the Wraith: Ah, my old friend Rytlock. He must want to ask one last thing from me before I die.
- <Character name>: Not quite. He and I both want you to join my warband and leave dying till much, much later. Come with me, and start a new life.
- Fyon the Wraith: New beginnings are for the young. I'm old, and I only have one thing left to do: slash Warmaster Kaylar's throat.
- <Character name>: Unless you can put down a ghost for good, Warmaster Kaylar will just come back again.
- Fyon the Wraith: My comrades howl for justice from their shallow graves. I'm not leaving here without evening the score.
- <Character name>: Then we'll purify this crypt in their honor. If you survive, you join us. If not-
- Fyon the Wraith: Then I'll come back as a ghost myself and keep killing these Ascalonian devils forever and ever.
After the cinematic:
- Clawspur: Get it together, old man. We need you.
- Fyon the Wraith: You'll get what you need after I do. And I need to make Kaylar pay.
- Fyon the Wraith: Hostiles, engaging!
- Dinky: My warband died, too. I'm sad. But the boss is making it better.
- Fyon the Wraith: A good leader makes all the difference.
- Fyon the Wraith: Yeah. It's a lot easier to be alone if you're with somebody.
- Fyon the Wraith: Hostiles, engaging!
- Euryale: I know how you feel. When my warband died, I wanted to kill...everything.
- Fyon the Wraith: Let's get Kaylar and clean out this crypt. Maybe my warband can rest.
- Fyon the Wraith: Hostiles, engaging!
- Maverick: I've heard of you. You're a soldier's soldier, just like me! Only I'm much handsomer.
- Fyon the Wraith: Sorry...Maverick, was it? Don't recall ever hearing the name before. But I've been busy.
- Maverick: That's all right. When I'm your age, I'll forget important things too.
- Fyon the Wraith: Hostiles, engaging!
- Reeva: You lost your warband? Me too. I miss 'em, but hey, on to the next battle, right?
- Fyon the Wraith: There's only one battle left for me. After that, we'll have to wait and see.
- Fyon the Wraith: Hostiles, engaging!
Talking to Fyon:
- Fyon the Wraith: I don't know what use you'd have for this old trooper, but if you help me kill Kaylar, I'll listen to your argument.
- You'd rather be dead than be a gladium?
- A charr without a warband is like a scabbard with no sword: empty inside.
- It doesn't have to be that way. We'll give you a home, and a place where you're needed. Just think about it.
- Let's get moving, then.
Talking to your sparring partner:
- Clawspur: What a pit. Let's recruit Fyon, kill as many ghosts as we can, and call it a day.
- This is a lot of ghosts! Have you ever seen so many? (Same as above)
- I'll keep that in mind.
- Fyon seems like a good soldier. He's honest, tough, and knowledgable. What are your thoughts?
- Good fighter. Vicious. Doesn't give up. Keep him.
- I totally agree.
- My thoughts exactly. Let's go.
- Dinky: Old isn't dead. Old isn't dead! There's a difference! Why doesn't Fyon get that?
- There are a lot of ghosts in here. (Same as above)
- Keep your eyes open.
- He's been through a lot. He's tired, Dinky.
- I get tired, and then I sleep. When I wake up, I feel better. You can't wake up from dead.
- You should tell him that. Maybe it'll cheer him up.
- Hopefully, he'll figure that out and join our warband.
- Euryale: All this effort for one old ghost-hunter? Fyon better be worth the trip to this miserable cesspool.
- There are a lot of ghosts in here. (Same as above)
- Fyon's been through a lot. Keep that in mind before you pick on him.
- I saw what he did to those ghosts, and they don't even have intestines! I'm not picking on that old man. Too dangerous.
- Good point. Keep that in mind.
(Same as above)
- That's almost wise, Maverick. Fyon's already a good influence on you, I see.
- Don't worry, I won't let it go to my head.
- Come on, let's head in.
- Whiskey also mellows with age. I hope Fyon still has some bite left in him.
- Reeva: Some of these old soldiers have seen a lot. I hope this Fyon character knows how to tell a good war tale.
- Poor Fyon. I know how he feels. Losing your warband can really hurt. And he had years with his. A whole career.
- Fyan[sic] just needs the same thing we need: another chance, and people who care about him. We'll set this right.
- We will.
- There sure are a lot of ghosts in here. (Same as above)
- I hope he can provide more than just bedtime stories. Move out.
While traveling through the Decimus Stones:
- Fyon the Wraith: We ain't skulking field mice like those Ash maggots, but we can avoid some fights if we stay low.
- Ascalonian Fighter: I'm not worried. The charr will never take Ascalon.
- Clawspur: See, Fyon? You've still got something to live for: killing.
- Dinky: Wait...the Wraith is a ghost-killer? Isn't that like cannibalism?
- Euryale: If you join us, Fyon, drop the death wish. Nobody else in my warband is allowed to die.
- Maverick: These ghosts have been around for centuries. Like you, Fyon!
- Reeva: Cheer up, old man. There's still plenty of fighting left.
- Fyon the Wraith: Don't leave a single human behind! Kill the ghosts and smash their statues!
- Fyon the Wraith: This place can be a memorial to my warband. Smash that statue!
When examining the statue of Warmaster Titus:
- Warmaster Titus: Warmaster Titus, a prominent Ascalonian warleader in his time. A fat fly rests on the statue's knee.
- Squash the fly.
- The brittle statue shatters from the blow.
- Beautiful. Grants 50 karma.
Punch the fly.
- Nothing interesting here.
While traveling further through the Decimus Stones:
- Fyon the Wraith: Ghost patrol ahead. Your call, boss: let them pass or take them out?
- Ascalonian Fighter: Don't be scared. King Adelbern will protect us.
- Ascalonian Cultist: My daughter has nightmares about the charr devouring us. Don't tell her, but so do I.
- Clawspur: I could learn a lot from a guy named "the Wraith."
- Dinky: Don't be afraid! Ghosts are scared of me!
- Euryale: Dying isn't noble. Making the other guy die? That's noble.
- Maverick: It's your lucky day, ghosts! You get to be killed by me!
- Reeva: Not a bad start, Fyon. You sure don't fight like an old timer.
- Fyon the Wraith: Kaylar's close. I can smell him.
While fighting Kaylar:
- Warmaster Kaylar: You mongrel beasts will never take Ascalon!
- Fyon the Wraith: Blood for the fallen!
- Fyon the Wraith: My comrades are waiting for you in the Mists, Kaylar!
- Fyon the Wraith: The war's over, Kaylar, and you lost! This is for my warband!
Cinematic with Fyon after fight:
- Fyon the Wraith: Maybe now my brothers and sisters can find rest in the Mists.
- <Character name>: You silenced Kaylar. They'll find satisfaction in that.
- Fyon the Wraith: Maybe this old cuss has a few fights left in him. You still have room in your ranks?
- <Character name>: I do. Welcome to the warband.
Speaking to Fyon after the cinematic:
- Fyon the Wraith: Maybe I have some fight left in me, after all. I thought this would be an old cur's last hurrah. You proved me wrong.
- No need to sweet talk me, sir. I'm no spring moa, and I can smell dolyak dung a mile off. Still, I like you, so I'll give it a try.
- Good. Let's head out.
Even if your teeth are dull with age, your mind is keen. You have more knowledge about fighting ghosts than half the legion combined. You'd be an asset to our warband, Fyon.
- You're right, boss. I wanna die the way I lived—kicking and screaming all the way.
- Good. Let's head out.
I can't let you give up, soldier. Not after a lifetime of service.
- Glory's no good in the grave...but I'm still kicking. So I'll join you.
- Good. Let's head out.
This warband is headed for glory, Fyon. I want you to be part of that.
- We need to head out. Let's go.
Speaking to your sparring partner:
- Clawspur: Fyon's warband should be happy. That's a whole lot of revenge.
- We should get back to the Black Citadel.
- Dinky: Fyon doesn't smile much, does he? Even when he's winning. You think maybe that's because he's old and has false teeth?
- No, he's just focused. He's like Euryale used to be. Not much of a smiler.
- Euryale: Now that I've seen him in action, I think Fyon will work out just fine. Guess even grey-manes can kick haunch.
- And we can use an old haunch-kicker. Let's get back to the citadel.
- Maverick: Well, I'm convinced. The old guy swings a blade better than most oldsters swing a walking cane.
- Then we all agree. Let's head back to the citadel and get Fyon settled in.
- Reeva: This Fyon's okay. I wonder if he knows any really old soldier songs. You know, the extra-dirty ones that get you reprimanded by brass for singing them on duty.
- You can ask him back at the citadel, but he doesn't seem the sing-along type.
