Dialogue[edit]
Cinematic when entering:
- Rytlock Brimstone: Chose a new pet?
- Rox: It chose me.
- Rytlock Brimstone: Well, it suits you. Train it well.
- Rox: I will.
- Rox: I was wondering, Tribune. When—
- Rytlock Brimstone: When will you know if you're qualified to join my warband? When I'm damn good and ready, gladium, and not before.
- Rox: Yes, Tribune. Sorry, Tribune.
On way out, Rytlock turns to the prisoners
- Rytlock Brimstone: (chuckles)
Talking to NPCs:
- Rytlock Brimstone:
- If charr: I heard you assisted at the hatchery. That'll look good on your record.
- Thanks. So, what've you got planned for Rox?
- If I told you, I'd have to kill you. Trust me when I say she'll earn her place on the Stone warband—if she survives. See you around.
- Yeah, see ya.
- Glad to help.
- Otherwise: Another time, civilian. I've got things to do. Talk to Seneca if you need assistance.
- Hey, what are you gonna do to Rox?
- If I told you, I'd have to kill you. Don't worry. She's tough. She can probably handle whatever we throw at her, so long as she's smart and asks for help. Gotta go.
- Okay.
- I will.
- Rox: Hi. I didn't expect to see you. I came down here at Tribune Brimstone's request to interrogate the prisoners. I owe you a big thanks for your help at the hatchery—Tribune Brimstone was impressed.
- Are they talking?
- A little too much about too little. We've been spending more time keeping them from attacking and killing each other. Both blame the other for their defeat. You're welcome to give it a shot, though.
- What's next for you? More fighting?
- I don't stop until it's done. They're still finding Molten weapon facilities. Soon as I'm done here, I'm going to meet Braham and help out the Vigil. Besides, Frostbite's getting restless.
- So, you've decided to adopt that little devourer?
- More like he adopted me. Maybe we were meant for each other. Soon as I can, I'll take him back to the North Nolan Hatchery so we can train together.
- How's the warband bid going?
- So far so good, though I've only just begun. I think they were impressed by how we handled the hatchery, but that was just a preliminary test. There will be more, and it'll be brutal.
- Call on me, if you need help.
- Absolutely! Thanks for offering. I'm going to need all the luck and help I can get. I'm familiar with Tribune Brimstone's depth of imagination when it comes to testing. I'll be in touch.
- I look forward to it.
- Good luck!
- Good luck with him.
- Gotcha. Maybe I'll see you around.
- I may do that.
- Glad to have helped. See you later.
- Seneca the Relentless: Scorch me, I haven't seen this place so full since...I can't remember.
- What's going to happen to them?
- They'll stay here until the imperator is done interrogating them, then he'll judge and sentence them. Chances are they'll be sent to the Blood Citadel, where they'll be properly punished.
- Have they explained why they did it?
- They felt more powerful in the alliance than alone. They obviously want to take territory. Who knows how far they'll go. I'm glad we can rely on folks like you to stop them.
- What will happen to all their weapons?
- We're salvaging what we can. When a factory is destroyed, it takes the weapons caches with them. No Iron Legion soldier worth his salt could pass up a chance to study the molten arms though.
- I see.
- That makes sense.
- I can't feel sorry for them.
- I'm just glad we got some alive.
- Veteran Flame Legion Prisoner:
If male charr: Those dredge better be ready for Gaheron's fires. They're gonna burn for this. Bumbling pinheads!
- It's not turning out like you wanted?
- You might say we overestimated the dredge ability to pull their heads out of their holes. All they want is to dig deeper, when the territory worth grabbing is on the surface.
- What made you do it?
- It sounded like a good idea at the time. Mine the dredge for all their secrets, use them to take territory, then put them in their places.
- I see.
- Ah hah.
- What made you do it?
- I don't think they'll be alone.
- If female charr:
- ??
- Otherwise:
- What? You got a problem with me?
- Just curious. What did you hope to accomplish?
- You could never understand because you and your people are destined to die in our fires. Your time is coming. You should prepare yourselves.
- What are you talking about?
- Nothing. Nevermind. Go fight your dragons. If you don't, they'll annihilate you.
- They'll annihilate you too.
- I doubt it. We'll be here long after the dragons have swallowed you and yours.
- In your dreams.
- Not if I have anything to say about it.
- You talk big. I'm going now.
- Not any more.
- Veteran Dredge Prisoner: Fuh-fuh-fuh-Flame Legion! Fuh! I told them! We never should've joined those coal-smoking charr. Their lava's fried their beans!
- Why'd you join them in the first place?
- For the fire, of course. We needed their fire magic to bolster the collective. With our hybrid weapons, we'd never have to worry about being conquered again. We believed them.
- Them?
- Yeah, the flaming cow pies and their fast-talking friend from the city. Never again! Lying silver-tongued, snake-nosed trickster! Never again.
- Shame on me? Shame on my leaders! They let themselves be seduced by power. We were fine until we got greedy. Evil trickster! Evil!
- I see you have nothing more to add.
Shame on you.
- Things couldn't go worse. We're doomed! Doomed by our own greed for power. Blinded by seductive words and slippery promises. And now, we're losing our weapons caches. Our factories. (sob)
- I see you have nothing more to add.
Cooperate and things will go better for you.
- The plan was flawed from the beginning. We were not orchestrating our own momentum. Instead, we listed to the seductive promises of that snake and stuck our heads out too far of our holes.
- I see you have nothing more to add.
You blew it. Your plan failed.
- They sure did.
- I'll leave you to Rox's interrogation.
- Hmph.
