Notes[edit]
- Bowl of Sweet and Spicy Butternut Squash Soup (usually shortened to BoSaSBnSS or Butternut Soup) is by far the most expensive food to purchase, but is the only top tier food with ferocity as well as power. While training, it may be in your best interests to use budget food instead, particularly the +100 Power foods.
- When using the two +100 budget foods, use Plate of Truffle Steak if you are not capped on critical chance (particularly if you are not in a subgroup with a druid), and use Plate of Orrian Steak Frittes when you are capped on critical chance.
- Tin of Fruitcake and Superior Sharpening Stones give the same amount of stats, however, Tin of Fruitcake is far more affordable. It is a Wintersday festival food, so be sure to buy a large supply during the festival when it is cheapest. Other budget utilities do not offer as much stat versus cost, so it is pretty much not worth it to use other budget utilities.
- Steamed Red Dumpling can be used as a budget food in fights with mobs that die, such as Sabetha and Xera if you have cleave (meaning it is not recommended for d/d thieves). Record runners sometimes swap in this food midfight during KC for extra burst during burn phases, but it is not worth it to swap in and out with BoSaSBnS as a regular player. This food gives no stats on single boss encounters like Cairn.
Condition[edit]
Standard Food | Effect | Standard Utility | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Rare Veggie Pizza (30 min) | +100 Expertise +70 Condition Damage |
Toxic Tuning Crystal | Gain condition damage equal to 3% of your power. Gain condition damage equal to 6% of your precision. |
Koi Cake (30 min) | +100 Expertise +70 Condition Damage |
Budget Food | Effect | Budget Utility | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Super Veggie Pizza | +80 Expertise +60 Condition Damage |
Tuning Icicle | Gain condition damage equal to 3% of your precision. Gain condition damage equal to 6% of your expertise. |
Boxed Super Veggie Pizza (WvW Provisioner) | +80 Expertise +60 Condition Damage |
Notes[edit]
- Koi Cake and Rare Veggie Pizza have the same effect, however, Koi Cakes are only a 15 minute duration and are far cheaper than Rare Veggie Pizzas. Koi Cakes are a Lunar Festival food, so it is in your best interests to grab a large supply during the festival.
- Boxed Super Veggie Pizza gives the same amount of stats as the Super Veggie Pizza. If you have Badges of Honor to spare, this is a great way to get budget food for essentially no cost. You can buy this anywhere using the Permanent Portable Provisioner, which you can buy from the WvW Outfitter for 1g. Food and Utilities can only be purchased from the PPP after obtaining Provision Master III.
Chrono/Boons[edit]
Boon Food (For Chrono) | Effect | Standard Utility | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Fried Golden Dumpling | +100 Concentration +33% Chance to gain Might on a Critical Hit |
Toxic Maintenance Oil | Gain Concentration Equal to 3% of Your Power Gain Concentration Equal to 6% of Your Condition Damage |
Bowl of Sweet and Spicy Butternut Squash Soup (Tryhard Chaos Chronos) | +100 Power +70 Ferocity |
Budget Food (For Chrono) | Effect | Budget Utility | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
See Power Budget Options | Peppermint Oil | Gain Concentration Equal to 3% of Your Precision Gain Concentration Equal to 6% of Your Healing Power +10% Karma Bonus |
Notes[edit]
- Fried Golden Dumpling is a good crutch if you're not comfortable with your boon duration as a new chrono. However, Chaos Chronos use a trait that increases boon duration increase per boon on them, which overcaps boon duration on a chrono. Therefore high level chronos use BoSaSBnSS because they do not need extra concentration, and can try to mildly improve their dps with dps food.
- If you are confident in your boon duration while playing chaos chrono and need a budget food, refer to the above Budget Power food options.
Heal[edit]
Heal Food | Effect | Standard Utility | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Delicious Rice Ball | +100 Healing Power +10% Healing Effectiveness (Outgoing) |
Bountiful Maintenance Oil | Gain 0.6% Outgoing Healing Increase for Every 100 Healing Power Gain 0.8% Outgoing Healing Increase for Every 100 Concentration |
Budget Food (For Heal) | Effect | Budget Utility | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Rice balls are cheap u scum | Peppermint Oil | Gain Concentration Equal to 3% of Your Precision Gain Concentration Equal to 6% of Your Healing Power +10% Karma Bonus | |
Sharpening Skull | Reviving an ally grants Feline Fury to both you and your revived ally. Feline Fury increases all attributes by a small amount. +30% Magic Find |
Notes[edit]
- There's not really a budget healing food, as the outgoing healing effectiveness is the more important stat that the food gives, and no other food gives outgoing healing effectiveness. Rice balls are usually quite cheap as there's a huge supply of them put out new Lunar New Year. Buy enough to last the year during the festival, as this is when it is cheapest.
- Sharpening Skull as a budget healer's food is particularly great on Auramancer and Blood Scourge healers that have quick AoE revive. Great for groups that are terrible at staying alive. Downing IS a dps increase!! (It's still not). It's also VERY good for increasing an opening burst by reviving a player right before the fight starts. Unlike boons, this buff is not removed at the start of a fight. +75 to all core stats and druid juice? Hell yea.
