Getting there[edit]

Troll's Revenge will lead you across rooftops and cliffs of the Grand Piazza, the Western Ward and the Commodore's Quarter, and can take from 15 minutes up to several hours to complete. While some of the tricky areas have safety nets or other safe structures underneath, if you fall to the ground and survive and don't have access to an active Portal or an Experimental Teleporter, you'll have to start from the beginning.
Along the way, you'll find 4 Hidden Stashes with fragments of Rolan's Master Key, which opens the final chest.
First chestStarting at the north of the Captain Theo Ashford Memorial Bridge and running over the planks by its side, you have several different paths you can take in this section. In any case, you have to run and jump over the rooftops and ropes towards Macha's Landing, where you'll find the first chest. Second chestRun around the edge of Macha's Landing, hop across the boat to its roof, and then continue over rooftops to the Western Ward. The second chest is on a boat suspended from the closest tower. ShortcutIt is possible to skip half of step 2a and go straight to step 2f. Once you are on the first arm of Macha's Landing you will have to jump to a beam. At this point you would normally jump onto a chain and then onto the second arm. Instead, jump up the side of the landing from that first beam onto two small beams. Once on top, jump to the left until you reach a small peak. From here you could jump onto the long beam section that would take you around the entire length of the landing. Instead jump to the highest point of the peak, right on the seam. Then jump onto the side of the landing and walk up to the top. An image of the steps can be found here. Third chestContinue over the rooftops around the cliffs and then run and hop across a series of ropes up to the top of the cliffs, where you'll find the third chest. ShortcutIt is possible to skip a large part of the jumping puzzle up to this point. Travel to the Sanctum Harbor Waypoint — , run up to the Crow's Nest Tavern, go around the building and then use swiftness to jump onto the roof of the next building, then jump around the building to join the main path on "3d". Or you can use a raptor mount and jump from the terrace in to the far side of the roof and use dismount to boost your jump shown in 4th image below. Note, that in order to open the final chest, you'll still need to reach the first chest from the beginning of the jumping puzzle. Fourth chestCarefully enter the overgrown cave by the chest and drop into the hole inside on top of a platform hung from the ceiling. Run across the ropes while jumping over the birds (they'll knock you back otherwise) towards the remains of a ship hull and run and jump across the platforms to the top. Hop around the tower, get to the highest clifftops and continue north towards the Commodore's Quarter, where you'll have to navigate across various rooftops and ropes until you'll run over a set of two long ropes leading west. Go north, around and to the top of the buildings and finally hop across a series of beams to the cliffs at the northern edge of the city to find the fourth intermediate chest. It is possible to skip the tower part by spamming jump while running against the boulder behind the first peg. To get to the start of this path, you can glide from the opening of the cave to the Western Ward Waypoint — onto a sail towards the last bird. If you fall to the lower parts of the last set of buildings or of the cliffs at the end, you can still find your way back without restarting the whole puzzle. ShortcutWith the help of a targeted leap or a glider, it is possible to skip the Commodore's Quarter section of the puzzle. Jump off the middle of the rope bridge Rahn is standing on and land on the set of buildings west of the Order of Whispers Headquarters. This is survivable even without a fall damage trait. Climb on top of the beams holding the netting, and then jump onto the net suspended in the air. This is an extremely difficult jump that has no safety net, but with a targeted leap such as Jump Shot or an Experimental Rifle it is trivial. Jump to the other side, and then up above the beam from earlier. Alternatively, you can use a glider from the rope bridge to reach this point. Go through the tunnel and cross between the bridges and walk across the wire. This will rejoin the normal path to reach chest 4. Shortcut from the groundThe building beneath Rahn (described above) can be reached from the ground by climbing on top of the crafting station starfish using a leap skill, and then using more leaps or gliding to reach the building. Final chestThe final section is short and straightforward: jump across the beam and run south around the cliffs to find Rolan's hidden garden, his chest as well as his fate. Opening the chest with an assembled key awards the achievement. Shortcut from the groundWith a Springer, the garden can be easily reached from the Western Ward Waypoint. Jump up the hill to the north, and keep working your way up the south edge of the buildings until you are on a large flat roof covered with green moss. Then Raptor jump over to the garden. The final chest is just down to your left (south). Turning north along the cliff face, you can jump along the rock ledge and then glide down to the rocky pillar containing chest 4. Note: the plants in the garden respawn every few minutes, so they can be harvested again and again. Glider backtrackingIf part of the puzzle is skipped with a portal or by finding a way into the puzzle from the ground, chests 1, 2, and 3 can be reached from the area around chest 4 and the final chest. With Lean Techniques, the white building that the rope bridge Rahn is standing on is connected to can be reached from shortly before chest 4, allowing backtracking towards chest 3, and the green hill above chest 3 can be reached from the final chest. Chests 2 and 3 can be easily reached from the green hill. Additionally, a glider can be used from a roof on top of the green hill to reach the giant lobster, and then you can glide across to the buildings with chest 1, which can be reached after some climbing. Trivia[edit]
- This jumping puzzle used to be the Troll's End, but it was radically changed in the Lion's Arch rebuild patch on June 23, 2015.
- During the Battle for Lion's Arch re-release on November 8, 2022, Troll's End became accessible again within Memory of Old Lion's Arch, meaning the two now coexist.
- Due to lax mount restrictions in the main area of Lion's Arch, this jumping puzzle is one that can be achieved entirely by utilizing mounts such as the Griffon, Springer or Skyscale.
