Kill proof
Kill proof (often abbreviated as KP) is an unofficial term used among players for items and achievements that prove they have defeated a Raid, Strike Mission or Fractals of the Mists boss and are experienced with it. Although kill proof requirements are very common in fractal, raid and strike groups found on the LFG, they are wholly just a ‘good faith’ based, community-created system and are not required by the game itself to participate in any content.
Groups that ask for Kill proof will usually expect players to ping their items in chat upon joining their party or squad. This is done by pinging the items three or more times in quick succession, however many players choose use external kill proof logging sites to make this process easier.
Although usually a good indicator, it is worth noting that kill proof is not a definite proof of experience. They only show that a player has been a part of a group that has defeated a certain boss. Kill proof can also be obtained by paying other players to complete content, and can be easily "faked" by using a chat code generators found online.
Commonly used kill proofs[edit]
Note: Although this list contains the most commonly used Kill proof items by the community, it is not definitive. Groups may ask for different items, achievements and/or titles from players as proof of their experience, so it is important to read the LFG entry correctly and be respectful.
Raids[edit]
Legendary Insights (LI) are the overall raid currency and serve as the most common type of kill proof that raid groups will ask for, awarded by defeating raid bosses. Alternatively, groups may commonly ask for a certain amount of 'Kill proof tokens' (KP), decoration trophy items unique to each boss that are awarded by defeating them. If a group is attempting a 'Full clear' (FC) then they will usually only want Kill proof tokens from the last boss in the wing.
Raids (Challenge Mode)[edit]
Groups attempting Raid Challenge modes usually ask for the same items as normal mode, but may additionally ask you to display a title awarded from defeating a specific challenge mode boss as proof you have previously cleared the encounter.

Notes[edit]
- Certain items are not used as a kill proof because they can easily be "faked", such as the Hateful Sworl, a reward from the Hall of Chains raid. Since it can be pinged from the Achievement window, it's mostly avoided as a kill proof.
- Decorations donated to guilds by double-clicking or trading them in at a guild decoration trader cannot be retrieved.
- Prior to the June 11, 2019 game update players were required to represent a guild in order to get raid decorations.
External links[edit]
- Many players prefer to use an external website to log kill proof so they can delete their items or open consumables. These typically read a player's API key, meaning they effectively cannot be "faked". The most popular such website is killproof.me.
