Walkthrough[edit]
Logan will await and taunt the White Mantle with hilariously bad acting while you hide with the others on top of the hill. When he gives the order, charge down into battle. This quickly turns into an all-out brawl, with enemies and allies all over the place, so AoE is quite useful in this mission. Assist your allies and eliminate the attacking forces, keeping in mind that if you are defeated, you will return from where you started in the area. The enemies spawn nearby, so it is recommended that you run around the island to re-enter combat. If you happen to be out of combat, take the time to revive downed allies. Once all the waves are cleared, a dialogue will ensue and the mission ends.

Dialogue[edit]
At start of mission:
- Logan Thackeray waves at <Character name>
- Exemplar Salia salutes <Character name>
- Exemplar Mehid salutes <Character name>
- Countess Anise bows to <Character name>
Initial cinematic:
- Logan Thackeray: Get into position, everyone. I'll approach, and when they make their move, you all rush in and spring the trap.
- Countess Anise: You, Captain? No offense, but the Shining Blade and the White Mantle have a long history. Don't you think I'd make a more tempting lure?
- Logan Thackeray: No doubt. But wouldn't that seem a little suspicious? You out walking alone, the queen nowhere in sight... At least I move about on my own regularly.
- Exemplar Salia: That's a good point. Where do you want us, then, Captain? Anywhere is fine, so long as we're close to the action.
- <Character name: The ruins at the top of this hill would make for good cover. They're well elevated; we'd be able to see and hear everything.
- Logan Thackeray: Sounds perfect. Just be ready to move quickly when things get ugly.
After the cinematic and the soldiers hide:
- Countess Anise: Logan, playing the part of the helpless victim. This should be... interesting.
Talking to Exemplar Mehid:
- Exemplars Mehid: We're right behind you.
- Thanks. Keep your eyes open.
Talking to Exemplar Salia:
- Exemplars Salia: We'll follow your lead.
- Thanks. Stay close.
A short while later:
- Countess Anise: Shh. Here they come.
Cinematic as Inquisitor Mirella approaches Logan
- Inquisitor Mirella: Well, Captain Thackeray! A long way from home, aren't we? I thought we saved you for last, but since you're here...
- Logan Thackeray: Oh dear. Oh, mercy. The White Mantle is upon me. Woe! Lamentation! Is this the end for poor Logan?
- Inquisitor Mirella: Are... are... are you mocking me? I don't think you understand how this works. White Mantle! Give the captain a demonstration.
- Logan Thackeray: No, thanks. I think I already have a pretty good idea. Now!
After the cinematic:
- Veteran Inquisitor Mirella: Stop them!
At the first wave:
- Logan Thackeray: White Mantle! Your cause is dead, and so are you!
At the second wave:
- Countess Anise: For the Queen, and for the Shining Blade!
At the third wave:
- Veteran Inquisitor Mirella: Time to fight!
End cinematic:
- <Character name>: Well, I'm glad that's over with.
- Countess Anise: I think we were too easy on them, personally. After multiple attempted murders and abusing the memory of your parents, they got off light.
- Logan Thackeray: Will you be alright?
- <Character name>: I... I think so, yeah. Thanks for asking.
- Exemplar Mehid: Speaking of your parents... With this phase of the operation complete, I can tell you that Salia and I think we've located your parents' last known residence.
- <Character name>: That's fantastic! I want to check it out. If Anise can spare you two for one more mission, I mean.
- Countess Anise: By all means. The Shining Blade is in your debt. It's the least we can do.
- Exemplar Mehid: The house is south of the Delanian Foothills. We'll meet you there, and if there's anything worth finding, we'll find it.
If you talk to Countess Anise after the cinematic:
- Countess Anise: If you keep being so useful, I may have to find a way to bring you into the Shining Blade permanently. You're extremely capable.
- You're absolutely delightful! I swear, I think I nearly made you blush.
- You're wicked, ma'am. Thank you for everything.
Countess, you flatter me. l'm very honored, but I think I can serve Kryta best on my own recognisance.
- I think Captain Thackeray might have an argument with you on that, ma'am. He found me first.
- You're right, of course. But if you ever change your mind and want a new patron...don't be afraid to ask.
- Thank you. I'll bear that in mind.
If you talk to Exemplar Salia after the cinematic:
- Exemplar Salia: We'll meet you at the address as soon as we're done debriefing. An exemplar's work is never done. At least, not when one reports to Countess Anise.
- Is she tough to work for?
- Anise is made of stronger stuff than most people would believe. Still, she's hard, but fair. Just don't test her temper.
- It's like a wildfire—it flares up, but is as quickly gone. In its wake, she sees much more clearly than before.
- I see. Thanks for the warning, Salia.
I don't plan on it.
- If she didn't know how to lead, she wouldn't be the queen's right hand. We trust her with our lives, and so can you.
- I've heard that as well. Take care, Salia. See you at the residence.
Understandable. Nice to know that she's not all good looks and flattery, then. She protects the queen, after all.
- I'll keep that in mind.
- I understand, Salia. I'll meet you at the address you gave me.
If you talk to Logan Thackeray after the cinematic:
- Logan Thackeray: That was well done! I hope they can help you find out more about your parents. You've certainly earned a bit of good luck.
- Thanks, Captain. l just hope we find some answers to my questions.
If you talk to Exemplar Mehid after the cinematic:
- Exemplars Mehid: So, are you excited about finding your parents' house, <Character name>? We were lucky to find the information.
- I'm both excited and nervous. How did you find out about it?
- I can't tell you everything, but the information came from the Shining Blade archives. Your parents worked for the Blade.
- I don't know what to say. This is amazing news. l never thought l'd find any trace of them.
- You've been a good friend to the Shining Blade, and we repay our debts. We'll go with you and make sure everything turns out all right.
- I'm glad. I wouldn't want to be alone. Thank you.
- Their records were filled with commendations. I guess that's where you get your courage.
- What a proud history...and I never would have known if not for you. Thanks, Mehid.
- You've been a good friend to the Shining Blade, and we repay our debts. We'll go with you and make sure everything turns out all right.
- I'm glad. I wouldn't want to be alone. Thank you.
- Thank you for everything.
Amazing. Tell me what else you found out about them!
- This comes from the highest sources: the files of the Shining Blade. If the Mantle has spies there, I assure you, they'd be doing a lot more than changing old addresses.
- I don't know what to say. This must have taken a great deal of work on.
- You've been a good friend to the Shining Blade, and we repay our debts. We'll go with you and make sure everything turns out all right.
- I'm glad. I wouldn't want to be alone. Thank you.
- Thank you, Mehid. This means a lot to me.
Are you sure the information is reliable? lt's not another White Mantle trap?
- You're good friends. Thank you.
- Thanks, Mehid. I'll see you there.
