Mechanics[edit]
Symbol of Ignition functions as a standard guardian's symbol skill with an additional Ignition mechanic. As a symbol, it strikes enemies inside its area of effect and provides 1 stack of Might to the caster every second for the duration.
Ignition inflicts Burning on enemies and is triggered by the guardian's own attacks with a cooldown of 0.25 sec. It has a different effect and mechanics depending on if an attack is melee or a projectile, but the cooldown is shared. Allies cannot trigger this effect.
- Melee attacks
- When an enemy that is inside the symbol's radius is hit, Ignition is triggered in the area.
- Burning is applied to up to 5 enemies inside the symbol, even if only one of them has been hit.
- The guardian does not have to be within this area and skills like Sword of Justice inside the symbol will trigger this effect.
- The Symbol of Ignition’s own strikes don’t cause Ignition.
- The radius of the triggered area Ignition is slightly smaller than the Symbol's radius.
- Projectile attacks
- The guardian's projectiles passing through (or originating from) the symbol area will be ignited, applying extra burning to enemies they hit.
- This does not trigger an area effect: an ignited projectile affects only the enemies it strikes itself.
- Enemies hit by an ignited projectile are burned regardless whether they are inside or outside the symbol area.
- Cooldown of 0.25 sec only applies to the initial Ignitions of projectiles. An ignited piercing projectile applies burning to each enemy without a cooldown.
- Skills that have a projectile component, like Longbow's Symbol of Energy, can be ignited.
- Peacekeeper's beam (guardian's pistol skill 2) is considered a non-projectile and triggers a melee-type area Ignition.
