Darda

Darda was an old mursaat and head researcher who was active in Optimus Caliph's group of mursaat during the White Mantle's takeover of Kryta. She was the descendant of mursaat who had been exiled from Nayos to Tyria by their fellow mursaat as a punishment, and lived in Bava Nisos in Janthir. Darda viewed Tyria as a realm cursed with Elder Dragons, gods, and other threats from beyond.

She lamented how many of the more sensible mursaat had died during the mursaat-Seer war and how their current group's goals had shifted from finding a way back to their forebearers' homeworld into trying to prevent the dragon Glint's Flameseeker Prophecies—which involved the titans entering Tyria from the Door of Komalie to slaughter the mursaat one day—from coming true at the cost of thousands of sacrifices upon the bloodstones. She also disliked how many of her peers, including Manikaz who was responsible for the bloodstone sacrifice project, posed as the Unseen Gods to the human White Mantle cult to manipulate them into doing the mursaat's bidding. She wrote down her feelings in a diary while the White Mantle and mursaat influence began overtaking Kryta and Janthir.[1]

Despite their efforts, the mursaat were unable to prevent the Flameseeker Prophecies from coming true as the titans managed to breach into Tyria due to Vizier Khilbron's manipulations and the human heroes' opposition to the mursaat. Some titans besieged Bava Nisos and ultimately slaughtered most of the mursaat there. Darda and Orestes, her fellow researcher who was also critical of the bloodstone project, were unaware if anyone else had survived the slaughter. Not wishing to linger around, the pair chose to cross the Unending Ocean west of the Horn of Maguuma to seek a new life away from the destruction caused by the titans. Neither she nor Orestes have been heard from since.[2]
