Coding and stuff
Hey, so I have been looking around a bit, and if you still feel like you want to understand the black magic that the coders do here on the wiki, it seems like media wiki parser function guide page is a good place to start. I've additionally learned a few new things from the template page. I'll be personally scouring a few of these help pages to try and understand a bit more. Just thought I'd drop the info here if you were still looking for it. -Darqam (talk) 21:43, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Removed parts of hearts
The "bigger than normal" part of this heart no longer appears to be there. What would be the best way to change the page to reflect that? Llarryllamma (talk) 21:49, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
- If it was there and isn't any more, it's probably best to move it down to the bottom of the page as a note, saying that it was once there, but is no longer. - Doodleplex 21:51, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
- A lot of low level hearts changed in the September 2014 Feature Pack - particularly those which gave players new skill bars, because apparently that was "too complex" and was why many of those who didn't keep playing GW2 claimed to have left (I don't know why Anet would poll only those who didn't keep playing since it destroyed some things that old veterans loved.... RC Golems for one! Yeah, yeah, they brought them back in HoT... in a hard-to-reach out-of-the-way location...). If you see a heart in the 1-10 level areas particularly that doesn't match what's in-game, change it to match what's in-game now and move what's different down to the bottom under a ==Notes== section saying that prior to that feature pack, that was part of the heart too/instead. Historical icons
I'm curious where you're getting some of these from, like for the Revenant trait that never got added to the game, or the long dead crafting materials. I've checked a bunch of archives and usually come up with nothing. SarielV 20:18, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
- I'm poking through Special:ListDuplicatedFiles to find icons that are duplicates of each other so that one of the files can be deleted, that's primarily where I'm finding 'em. - Doodleplex 20:22, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
How in the world I got a picture of the Fire Elemental
Went to Iron Marches. Only 2 others there. Got a picture without them in it while the Fire Elemental phase was up. Simple. EDIT: Killing the boss, however, was not simple. Konig 18:27, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

Conflicts with other users
Tanetris talked to Mora about this. We all get invested in the wiki and veteran users are especially cranky. Most stuff isn't going to have clear consensus and it's great to have input from users unfamiliar with or new to the wiki. I'm still unfamiliar with many of the wiki practices and why we decided to do such and such. I've rubbed people the wrong way because of that. You can always get opinions from other users like me, Alex, Vent, etc. for a fresh set of eyes, we don't mind :)--Relyk ~ talk < 01:32, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
- Will do! I really don't like conflicts(especially edit conflicts, so annoying heh), especially if I'm wrong and might not know it, so I will do that in the future to hopefully prevent this from happening again. - Doodleplex 17:20, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
Hey, I think it'd be easier to move the shared project files to lowercase names such as "Human boy 1.jpg" (the GWW shared model project used lowercase as well). It's technically more correct and simpler to add to infoboxes, but if you already started moving files around, ignore me! —Ventriloquist 20:30, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
- Oh good point it probably is, and I only moved a few. Easy fix, thanks for letting me know! =) - Doodleplex 20:32, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
Wargs
Just wanted to let you know: There are also grey wargs. 84.147.71.196 20:52, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hmm...I'll have to double check, but I think it's just brown and black for the normal types running around, with the black one looking grey in good light. Either or, stuff to look into, thanks! - Doodleplex 20:56, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
- There are three warg models. A light brown with tan underside; a black/gray with stripes on the head (I've only spotted it as the Jubilee one); a dark brown with red underside and legs (seen in Stronghold of Faithful). Whether the second two are common or not I dunno, would be awesome if the german wiki has a location for them for confirmation? Konig 01:33, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
- The common two running around are the black and brown models, with the Raid ward being it's own special cupcake with a black romp and a brown body. It appears, at least by the wargs I managed to find so far, that the grey one is only the one in the Queen's Jubilee. I'll continue to look though while I rant at my TV about swimmers poor swimming technique at the Olympics. - Doodleplex 23:53, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- The only location that I remember 100% where grey wargs are False Lake in Lornar's Pass. Don't know if they are in any others though, it's been too long since I've mapped them. --Louise (talk) 05:02, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Repeatable edits can be done by bots
Hey Doodle, I appreciate your tenacity in renaming those icons, but the recent changes page can be save if you ask for a bot to do it instead! G R E E N E R 23:45, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- Can the bots do Null Edits to? Because that's the worst of cleaning up duplicate icons. X_x - Doodleplex 23:46, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- Not sure the null edits will be needed (the wiki should catch up in time). Put in the request, and see what the results are at the end, I'd say. G R E E N E R 23:58, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
Answers to your question
Hi Doodle,
Felix asked me to share the answers to your questions on the wiki so that they can be referenced. FYI I've also asked him and the community of editors to figure out whether we can setup a regular (monthly?) Q&A of this kind, with its dedicated page.
- In what area is Agent Zrii located in? She seems to be on an area boundary line making her location tricky to list.
ANSWER: She is indeed spawned on the sector line, so no matter what you list is accurate. If we had to choose one we'd suggest put her in the Pact Base Camp
- Is the Wyvern Matriarch a Mordrem? Currently the achievement for slaying her refers to her as wyvern, not mordrem.
ANSWER: There are definitely Mordrem wyverns and normal non-Mordrem wyverns in the Heart of Maguuma region. The previous variety (from before the Heart of Thorns expansion) reacted very badly to the Pact fleet crashing in their territory. The easiest way to tell in game if it's Mordrem or not is the following: if it breathes fire, it’s a normal wyvern. If it breathes green glowing corruption, it’s a Mordrem Wyvern. The “Kill the Wyvern Matriarch” event features a wyvern that breathes corruption, so it’s a Mordrem Wyvern.
- Are Vampire Beasts the same species as Cave Spitters ie, Cave Beasts?
- Related to the above, can we have some info/lore on Cave Beasts and Saurians?
ANSWER: In spite of the fact that they often occupy the same kind of terrain, Vampire beasts and cave beasts are not the same species—the vamps are more mammalian and the cave beasts more reptilian.
- Since "Securing Verdant Brink" and "Advancing Across Tangled Roots" no longer have map reward box as of the Spring Update, does that mean they've been removed from the game, or is it just that reward box is gone?
ANSWER: The reward coordinator for “Advancing Across Tangled Depths” was removed. The five metas (the simultaneous outpost metas and the Chak Gerent map wide meta) are still there as well as the reward coordinator for the Chak Gerent. (NOTE: "reward coordinator" refers to the new map-wide system to coordinate that rewards players during a play session and it corresponds to the picture in this article https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Map_meta_event ?)
- Related: "Defending Tarir" appears in the event box when you enter Tarir, the Forgotten City. Is this a meta-event and similar to the above, the map meta was removed, or is this a Map Meta Event that is appearing in the event box?
ANSWER: This is the map meta and the only changes we made were to remove the reward coordinator through the warmup phase of the map, which is the first hour and a half. When the meta kicks off, the reward coordinator will become active and act as it used to when we originally released the event.
- Is there any other time when the map meta appears in the event box instead of just a meta event?
ANSWER: If you don’t have the little box with the tick marks, there’s not a map meta event active at that time.
- Even though Dry Top and The Silverwastes's metas are not officially map meta events, the metas in each location does involve the entire map. Were these a way of testing map metas?
ANSWER: Silverwastes and Dry Top were designed around the time of Living World Season 2 with the idea in mind that players should be able to work together toward a common goal. The idea was continued and iterated on in Heart of Thorns.
- Can you provide any sort of list as to NPCs that were removed from the game after Lion's Arch was rebuilt so we don't have to go hunting for missing persons/quaggans/etc.? For example there are some NPCs that were in LA beforehand but haven't returned, and as the Refugee Camp in Gendarran Fields is gone, their locations are now unknown
ANSWER: We do not keep track of that information and it'd be a bit too much work to find it, so I'm sorry that we can't provide you with this!
- Can things that have text but have the "==Text==" or "==Interaction== header have the same formatting as those with "==Dialogue=="?
ANSWER: I'm not sure that it's a question for us? It sounds like something to ask the community of wiki editors. I can help with getting in touch with admins and other technical editors if you need help with that, let me know! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stephane Lo Presti (talk • contribs).

Archiving and moving
Hey Doodle! Generally speaking, it's better to move a page when creating an archive for it as it saves the editing history (and all of that juicy stuff). I moved the NPC infobox over the archive and then re-created to make sure nothing is lost. Beep. —Ventriloquist 21:36, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

- Heh, I see. Can you merge the history of this talk page(well excluding the recent comments) to my archived talk page? =o - Doodleplex 21:43, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
- Since there isn't a 'merge' feature, I can rollback the most recent comments, move the 'reverted' talk page to the archive, and then copy and paste the reverted comments to your current talk page. You'd lose the history of the most recent topics, but in return would save the history of your entire archive. Choose wisely! —Ventriloquist 21:55, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
- Dang I see...well if I didn't have official stuff cited above I'd say go ahead. I think it's best to just leave it alone and know better for the future. - Doodleplex 22:01, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
- History isn't that important on user pages anyways, they're relevant on actual wiki articles so that you can track down certain changes (or comments) without having to navigate through the many talk page archives. 'Till next time! —Ventriloquist 22:07, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

Plynn as Inquest
He uses an Inquest model. And his golem is an Inquest model golem. He's also apparently evil. So honestly I'm inclined to argue he's Inquest. IIRC, he also comes from The Funhouse when he spawns, though I wasn't able to be certain of that (he does come from that direction, however). Konig 22:38, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
Quaggans everywhere
Heya,
So; if you randomly want to change how the wiki looks a bit, notably by adding Quaggans in the same way I have. Here's how. Go to User:Doodleplex/common.css, and add the lines:
/** Quaggans! **/ .mw-changeslist { /** Add quaggans to the recent changes page **/ background-image : url("https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/a/ad/Knight_quaggan_icon.png"), url("https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/0/03/Relax_quaggan_icon.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat, no-repeat; background-position: right top, right bottom; } #mw-content-text { background: url("https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/e/e0/Bowl_icon.png") no-repeat right top; } /** You may want to remove this line, it gets hidden or clipped on some pages **/ #footer { background: url("https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/0/05/Resting_quaggan_icon.png") no-repeat center bottom; } .mw-wiki-logo { visibility: hidden; }/** removes wiki logo so you can see space quaggan**/ #p-logo { background: url("https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/5/5e/Space_quaggan_icon.png") no-repeat center; }

More answers to your new questions
Hi Doodle,
Here's some of the information you're looking for:
* Night and the Enemy, is this a map meta event only or is there a meta event of the same name? (This needs to be answered on the wiki so it's confirmed as there has been confusion about this)
ANSWER: These two things are the same to us. We only create "meta events" and the ones attached to a map use the "Reward coordinator" that you can see over the minimap. This is an important information for the wiki as it will allow you to reshape articles to better match our content.
(by the way I just noticed now that you posted on my talkpage a series of follow-up questions on the previous Q&A, sorry that I didn't see before now and I'll reply to those on Monday).
* If possible, can you provide the flavor text for the tiers and what the rewards would have been for Securing Verdant Brink, Defending Tarir, and Across Tangled Roots since the rewards for those map metas were removed?
ANSWER: We can't easily share the past rewards but here are the flavor texts (that is conditional on day/nighttime and boss status):
- Verdant Brink Text – Ground Level
- Default Nighttime Text: Rally stranded troops, gather Pact supplies, and defend Pact rally points against the Mordrem.
- When the bosses in the sky become active: Pact choppers have landed to evacuate the wounded and take any able-bodied fighters higher in the canopy.
- If the central
- Verdant Brink Text – Sky
- During Daytime: The canopy is quiet. Help the Pact gain and hold their foothold at the Jaka Itzel outpost.
- During the pre-boss nighttime period: There's trouble above, but things are chaotic on the ground. Help the Pact gain and hold a foothold at Jaka Itzel so that they can push into the canopy.
- During the boss period and the boss in this outpost is active: The canopy is in an uproar. Pact forces have secured a foothold on the ground and are pushing to control the threat from above.
- During the boss period, the boss at this outpost is dead, but others are active: There's still trouble on high. Pact forces have secured things on the ground and above here, but are still pushing to control threats in other parts of Verdant Brink's canopy.
- During the boss period and all bosses are under dead: The canopy has calmed. Pact forces have neutralized local threats above and below.
- Defending Tarir - By Tiers
- Exalted were not well prepared for the invading Mordrem.
- Tarir perseveres, but for how long?
- The Exalted have only a portion of their resources ready to bring to bear against the Mordrem.
- The Exalted are well prepared to defend Tarir from the invading Mordrem.
- Battle in Tarir - By Tiers
- The Exalted were not well prepared. The price for victory was too high.
- There was no hope. A noble sacrifice had to be made to save Tarir.
- Defenders fought valiantly, but a sacrifice was needed to protect Tarir.
- Defenders of Tarir have saved the city. The Exalted rejoice.
Pumpkins in Pictures; Pictures with Pumpkins
Just running out of the house, so I haven't checked if this was discussed somewhere else. As a personal preference, I do enjoy using the pumpkins as a basis for comparison, especially as the decorations vary in size so drastically. G R E E N E R 20:25, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

Time and Resonance
You're removing the Resonance costs from articles but not the assembly time, but it's the time that's wrong now and not the Resonance. Decorations have been abbreviated to 30 seconds assembly time, or 64 seconds at the most. One can still use the old Resonance value to speed it up, but there is not much point anymore. Also, new Resonance can no longer be earned/bought. Neither figure is needed in the article, though the 16/32/64 second times are a little interesting in the SAB decoration articles. -- Dashface 02:47, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah I was only removing what I knew for sure wasn't there anymore, as resonance has basically been removed, but as I had no idea on the time, I left those alone. Feel free to edit the times, I currently can't check atm. - Doodleplex 03:00, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
Disambiguity and a new event table for HoT
Since the Spring 2016 Quarterly patch, we've had increased experience rewards for the HoT maps, I left a little note on the discussion page of the template if you know how to change it to match the correct values. Additionally, I am at an impasse about a few articles and their specific race. Now, most of us know that sylvari are basically pure uncorrupted mordrem. However, during Destroy tendrils and their source we fight Corrupted Sylvari, would these be considered sylvari or mordrem as a race? Sythe 16:56, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- As for the rewards, I have no idea, since I'm not sure how to fix it or if I did, by how much since I'm not sure if my account bonuses are impacting it. I wonder if event rewards are different for HoT than the core maps, and if that's the case maybe there needs to be two, though like I said, I'm not sure if my account bounuses are effecting it. As for the sylvari, they should probably be Mordrem, as Mordrem are "... the corrupted plant-like minions of the Elder Dragon, Mordremoth" and while not full Mordrem guards, they have been corrupted by Mordremoth so that would be what I would go with. - Doodleplex 17:50, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- I know for certain that events reward more experience - but not karma or gold - than core tyria as the pop-up you receive in the top left corner is the unmodified values for the event. Perhaps I should contact a sysop/admin in that case. Also, thanks for the clarification on being mordrem or sylvari. Sythe 17:58, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
Displaced Wolf at Rumbling
My desktop is being a pain with GW2 so I cannot triple check. I did the event ~3 times and never once saw a Displaced Wolf from the rumbling rift event, just rock dogs and hyenas. Are you sure there was one? Konig (talk) 02:43, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
- Yup. If you want I can upload both screenshots with the picture of the wolf. For future reference, I only add what I seen in my screenshots, and I would never add foes or allies to an event if I didn't see it on my screenshots. Trust me. =) - Doodleplex 03:03, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
- Weird that it wouldn't spawn for me over multiple events then. Those events upscale with veterans and elites for all foes, so the vet and elite versions can be added there. But is the model the same? And if not - skills/stolen skills/ability? Konig (talk) 03:36, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
- I dunno the skills but it does appear to be the same model. - Doodleplex 03:40, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Bloodstone Sliver skritt
Item says:
- Bloodstone Sliver: It's a wonder that a skritt didn't get to this already.
- I'd hate to see what a bloodstone-crazed skritt would be like.
Skritt first says:
- Skritt Forager: Scary shiny!
- Right.
Follow up text after collecting the item and speaking with the same skritt:
- Skritt Forager: Eek! Shiny dangerous shiny almost killed me!
- When did the bloodstone sliver fall?
- Right before you got here! Made me miss daily speaking time!
- I wonder why the slivers are still falling from the sky.
F2P players still get the achievement got finding the bloodstone items. -Chieftain Alex 20:01, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

Destroyer image name changing
Why? There are a multitude of destroyers utilizing those skins of multiple names. For example, the green crab is used by NPCs called: Vine-Touched Destroyer, Destroyer Crab, Amplified Destroyer, and a few I didn't catch, including veteran versions of each (likely elite and champ too for certain event upscaling). I know there's at last one non "Rotting Destroyer" (discounting rankings) with the green destroyer troll model, too. Would not doubt the same goes for the green destroyer harpy model. Your Shared Models Project is all about having a descriptor name for the NPCs with wide-ranged names to them. And I felt that using the base model's name with the Green descriptor fit that perfectly. So why change it all? Konig (talk) 23:14, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
- Other than main races which are "Race gender #.jpg", the majority of the picture in the project's names match what the name of the main bulk of the NPC that uses the image are. The only time colours really should used(I need to go through that hylek section) is if it's in the name of the npc, such as moas, oozes or skritt, which currently are the only exception as some skritt have white furr or don't. So, descriptive yes, but no "colour by numbers". - Doodleplex 00:38, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
Weapon Images
Soooo, I just found http://gw2.mmo-fashion.com/weapons/; which has a screenshot for virtually every weapon in the game (in preview panel). Might be useful to keep in mind for those damn weapon collections. -Darqam (talk) 23:36, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
- Oh yeah I found that awhile ago, but it had, at the time, stopped being updated. I'll have to poke around to see if it has anything new. - Doodleplex 23:40, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
Guild decoration images
You're doing great work with the guild decoration pages. I apologise for originally bristling at your changes regarding the pumpkins; it's always difficult when someone fixes something another person did intentionally. I'd like to re-extend the invitation to temporarily join my guild-of-three so that you can take screenshots of any decoration you like - except the gold trophies and Fractal decorations that I don't have yet. You could join for whatever length of time on a Free account, and I'd give you the Decorator permission so that you could place the decorations in whichever positions you think are best for screenshots. The hall is in Lost Precipice, which has lighting that is a lot more neutral and suitable for screenshots than Gilded Hollow. Please let me know if you're interested. I really like the guild decoration system, so I've tried to promote it by documenting it. I really appreciate the lengths that you're going to in this same direction. -- Dashface 14:30, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
- Trust me, I know the feeling haha, no hard feelings. =) I actually just started working on leveling up scribe to master it, so I figured in the process I'd get anything that might be needed, but if there's something I can't get, I'll let you know. =) - Doodleplex 19:01, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

/wave Hi Doodle. You realise Greener asked some questions on Guild Wars 2 Wiki talk:Requests for adminship/Doodleplex right? -Chieftain Alex 08:35, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
- Though some of those questions may seem onerous, I'm just looking for honest answers (far more valuable than pompously crafted responses, to me). Invoke Doodleplex. G R E E N E R 17:42, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
- I'll answer it on Monday, I got yanked to help with a friend's both at NYCC and am dead on my feet atm. And I still have to survive tomorrow. X_x - Doodleplex 01:53, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
"do they alternate swords"
Per [1]. All icebrood norn based off of Sons of Svanir (Mauler, Hunter, Claymore, and Berserker), and those Sons of Svanir, have Etched weapons that at a certain % of health become corrupted weapons. So "yes" and "no." Konig (talk) 19:09, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

AP total
Even though I'd love to make a widget to stick your total AP on your page, sadly calculating it using the API is stupidly complex. https://github.com/arenanet/api-cdi/issues/299 - there's a tracking issue for it but it's not got "In progress", "Needs deploy" or "Done" on it so he hasn't made any progress. -Chieftain Alex 21:25, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

old talk sections
As much as I love playing where's waldo, create a new section if the talk page section is like a month old. It's impossible to find or see if you post in a section months old and 2-3 sections up. Alex has a bad habit in posting in old sections too...--Relyk ~ talk < 20:15, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

- I understand completely, if's stuck up there, most people wouldn't know, give up, and just close the window, new section makes it easier to find(and less Where's Waldo/Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego). =) - Doodleplex 20:24, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

Chub's "moms"
She says "Maw and my moms" meaning the Chub's mother (norn) and Maw's mother (charr). Two moms, but only one is Chub's. Konig (talk) 01:53, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, but it's currently "Maw and my moms were" which isn't correct grammar, so that's either a {{sic}} typo, should be "Maw and my mom were", or the "s" means more that one mom belonging to Chub. - Doodleplex 02:51, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- No, because Maw was not in the Lionguard, which is what your wording would indicate. The correct form would be either "Maw's mom and my mom", "Maw's and my moms" (yes this is technically correct, even though it sounds incorrect), "My mom and Maw's", or "Our moms". But keep in mind this is a child speaking... and child speak bad engrish at times. Konig (talk) 04:00, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- Ah you're right(hard to type/English while entertaining a cat, she's napping now) so then the answer is simple, {{sic}} goes there. - Doodleplex 04:07, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- Sic is used when it's a typo. I'm pretty sure that's intentional bad English because it's a kid speaking. Like when we have improper english for skritt and quaggan. Konig (talk) 04:17, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry to randomly intrude on your discussion, but I wanted to point out that sic isn't just for typos, it's to let the reader know that anything they might reasonably interpret as an error has been transcribed faithfully, and wasn't accidentally introduced by the editor. I think it would be perfectly appropriate to use here. --Idris (talk) 21:07, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

Bot Stuff
Heya, since I see you doing the same 'mistake' I made with the bot at the start, let me point you to User talk:Poke#bot tag, notably "And please, I’d ask you to use your real account for “normal” edits liek commenting, so it’s clear that the bot only does bot stuff.". I figure I'd avoid having big ugly mean nice and kind Mr.Poke telling you that so I dropped by instead. -Darqam (talk) 20:04, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
- No biggie. I'm assuming you're saying this because the first edits for it where on J.A.R.V.I.S.'s profile page. I did that to a.) look less like a potential spambot so b.) the auto abuse filter didn't go wonky on me(like it did on poor Encoded). The rest will be bot edits. - Doodleplex 20:13, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
