images[edit]

You can upload a new version of an existing image by going to the file page and finding the link near the bottom that says, "Upload a new version of this file." However, in this specific instance, item icons need to be PNG format, and we already have one. If you think that file needs to be replaced, that's fine, but the infobox doesn't need to be edited. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:53, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

Thanks! I suppose that we could even have a png and a jpg of the same name... wow, can't believe I didn't think of that before.
How do I get the gallery to work? From looking at several examples, I could not figure out what was different about the coding. Does that need to be a specific file as well?
Also, do we already have a png for the other that I uploaded, the Broken Sprinkler Piece? Adeira Tasharo 04:41, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
The item infobox doesn't have any "gallery" code like the location infobox does (I assume that's what you're referring to, e.g. Queensdale has a "loading screen" in the infobox). For non-equipment items, a gallery isn't really necessary.
For Broken Sprinkler Piece, I don't think we do, but we don't even have an article for that item yet. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:23, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
I've just been trying to capture images as I run across them. I just realized that I can save to png and upload it, then flag the BSP jpg for deletion. Out of curiosity, other than because it's the way we're supposed to, why png instead of jpg? is it better scalable? smaller?
Is there any reason that the item infobox shouldn't have a gallery to show the item in-game? I think the reason I started on that little project was finding them in my inventory and not knowing what they were for. Without knowing that a soulbound item is tied to a heart that I have already completed, I am loathe to destroy them. The other similar item is the Norn Supplies listed in the Notes of Help Albin Chronicler trade with the jotun tribe. Adeira Tasharo 16:30, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

event rewards[edit]

Hey, about those events that you're commenting on, they all still have the reward numbers from early betas. We've analyzed the post-release reward formulas and have a new template that can calculate the values based on the event level. That template will be propagated out to all the event pages shortly, so you don't need to worry about pointing them out anymore. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:14, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

So the only thing to worry about is the event level? Adeira Tasharo 19:26, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Yep. And the infobox to store it, of course. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:42, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Would you take a look at my work on Defeat the enraged grawl rampaging through Martyr's Woods and the quests that I think follow it and let me know what I should do differently? Adeira Tasharo 19:45, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Those look good as far as I can tell - I haven't paid much attention to general event page formatting. Since you're already editing these pages, you can go ahead and replace the reward template, if you want. I'll get them all eventually, but with 650 event pages, it's gonna take a few days. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:01, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Sure, I'll be glad to add the new reward template to the page... how do I do that? Have I conscripted myself into the Event Krewe? (Not that would temper my compulsion to document everything.) Adeira Tasharo 20:05, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Just replace the {{Event reward table}} template with {{Event rewards}}, like I've been doing here. If you're adding the infobox in the same edit, the new table won't work immediately, but just click on the clock at the top of the site (next to your username) to "purge" the page. And just do as much as you feel like, we're not conscripting you into anything. :P —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:09, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

Sandbox Page[edit]

I had to put it behind tags because it was showing up on weapon pages where it wasn't supposed to, as per Talk:Chaos Gun. I think for future reference, you should avoid using "contains" in your testing on your sandbox page, and just use Template:Item icon so it at least looks the same without pinging pages. =) - Doodleplex 19:08, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Ahh, first time using Template:Contains thanks for letting me know! Adeira Tasharo (talk) 20:55, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
A wee bit more information, just in case you are not aware yet. Most templates (read: pretty much every single one) are not "smart". They can't tell when they are being used in a test environment, user page, or for 'true' wiki purposes. As such any use of them in a test environment will have them behave as if they were put on a mainspace article. In this particular case, Template:Contains tagged the name of your page as a container which contained the listed items. You've got quite a few other templates on the wiki which work in similar automated fashion so it can't hurt to take an extra second and check what exactly the template does.
Worst case, the above will happen and someone will tweak your code. You can't break things too hard like this, so don't let this stop you from experimenting though; can't learn without mistakes. -Darqam 21:34, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

I am trying to get in touch with the drop rate research team, but I am new to the Wiki. I made an account and now I'm adding this text. Mashadar (talk) 11:39, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

Welcome to GW2 Wiki! I'm not aware of a consolidated team for drop rates, but there are a few of us that track various things, and I've certainly contributed a bit to the cause. Is there a question with which I can assist you? Also, don't forget to check out the GW2 Wiki Discord. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 18:21, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
I thought the group listed here was some kind of a team. Either way, I have some statistical background and I could contribute by calculating confidence intervals or credible intervals for estimated drop rates. I can calculate those using maximum likelihood or Bayesian statistics. For very small drop rates, Bayesian statistics will be necessary. As a test, I calculated credible intervals for mystic clovers and I got a 95% Credible Interval of 0.295-0.315. Credible/Confidence intervals could be added to the drop rate research charts. Let me know if this sounds interesting! Mashadar (talk) 19:21, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
Sounds a bit over my head, but if you see places that it seems to make sense, add it. The Wiki may be hosted by Anet, but the vast majority of the information and editing is done by players. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 19:49, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for helping me get started. Mashadar (talk) 11:27, 15 January 2024 (UTC)

WvW reward tracks[edit]

Hello. Just a small pointer - table cells need a single pipe | before their cell contents, even after a new row symbol |-. I spotted that it was missing from some of the regional WvW reward track articles that you edited earlier, but I thought it would be good to tell you in case you spot this problem with other articles too. You could tell something was awry because the pvp & wvw track header above it were appearing only above one reward track template.

Also, we don't need to write "Template:" before template inclusions, e.g. {{Reward Track}} works fine instead of {{Template:Reward Track}}. Cheers and thanks for updating the reward tracks as they seem to be something we've overlooked. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 13:06, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for finding it and sharing! I pretty much borrowed the code verbatim from another page (the VB Reward track iirc), and could not figure out why the headers weren't working right. As far as the over-categorization, if it does not add any additional functionality, then it seems to be a less functional duplication of the nav. Since I didn't know what functionality would enable, I added it for completeness. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 16:21, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

Map update for Dredgehaunt Cliffs[edit]

Hey! The Class I Magic Rifts have been a pet project of mine for a while and I was surprised when you found another rift in one of the maps I thought to be done. I don't suppose you could update the current map with the approximate coordinates of where you found the rift in Dociu Excavation? It would be a great help, thanks! Sythe 22:38, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

I would love to! But coordinates... not sure how. As I look, I think you have it marked already, as you look at Dociu on the mini map, there is a small cluster of built stuff about in line with the dark line off to the east on the mini map. I made a point of standing on the rift when I took my screenie and hovered the mini map to be sure, but according to the mini map, it's Dociu, not Grey Road. The outline shown on Dociu Excavation does not appear correct based on the mini map. Please PM me if you would, my IGN is the same. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 05:30, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
I've identified a bug which won't let me plot sectors from the API for dredgehaunt properly, but we can use the events API to plot the rift events. Widget:Test currently has this map. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 12:09, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
I've used the widget to update your red dot map, I found 4 events unmarked. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 12:19, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Ah, I was unaware that these could be found in the API. This will be much easier than going to each event and plotting them. Thanks for the widget! Sythe 15:54, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Edit: By the way, is it possible that the API could be adding the potential exit points of rifts as well? I'm saying this because I'm aware of the exit point in Metrica Province but I camped outside of it waiting for a rift event to spawn for 30 minutes. Sythe 16:16, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Do we have any sense yet of the timing of events, namely how often does a given location spawn, and if unactivated, how long it stays? I don't know much about how the API works, so this might be a crazy impossible idea, but... could we use the API to create a "bus schedule" or a timer in the style of Event timers? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 18:13, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Having hand-plotted a few of the maps I can say that if there is a rotation in which these spawn, I haven't noticed it. It appears to me that they respawn randomly with a set cap on how many events can be started at a time. I'm not sure on the specific number, but my guess from doing a few maps is around 5-8 events can be started at a given time. I also believe that there is a duration of how long the event can stay before it disappears to be respawned. For example, I can open a rift and it will stay open for 5 minutes, or I can open a rift and it will stay open for 30 seconds. Sythe 18:28, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

Question marks[edit]

Just a heads up, the wiki doesn't like question marks in page names and will never work correctly as a result, so we just create the pages without it. "Where's Balthazar" is the page you want, and I've already moved the content you added over there for you. Cheers! - Doodleplex 18:22, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Thanks! Someone else set up the page and I was wondering about that. I've fixed the link on One Path Ends. It looks like someone else already changed the infobox on Heart of the Volcano (story), although it seems not to like it well? I'm seeing the "Followed by Heart of the Volcano" in the info box. Do you know how to fix that? Are we able to get rid of the redirect since it was moved? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 19:24, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
Well even though it shows the wrong name, the link works correctly so I'd wager it has something to do with the infobox template. I'll have to ask Chieftain Alex to look into it, since I'm not sure how to fix that. As for the redirect, for the time being I'll leave it as a redirect incase somebody else tries do the same thing, and delete it later on when that is less likely. - Doodleplex 19:31, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Radiant Beam[edit]

The page you made, "Radiant Beam" has an id that that's for something very similar called "Resilient Beam" and the achievement page also refers to a "Resilient Beam". As I didn't pick Amoon in the story, I can't check, but is it possible you got the name wrong when you made the page? - Doodleplex 19:12, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

O.o My mistake. If we edit all the pages that link to it, can we change the page name without needing a redirect? Or is the redirect good to leave, since I've made the mistake others may as well? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 20:07, 4 October 2017 (UTC)
Heh, no worries. Since there were only 4 pages that linked to it, and only one needed to actually change the link(the rest just needed to be refreshed), I moved it without leaving the redirect, so everything is good now. Thanks! - Doodleplex 20:13, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Sand-Worn Question[edit]

Answer, Karra spelled it wrong when he/she made the page, and I'm guessing based on the page's history because it wasn't categorized(nor linked to due to being misspelled), nobody who knew how to move pages knew about it, so it was only moved it to the correct name today. - Doodleplex 07:39, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Drop data[edit]

Just a heads up, if you've got data from various containers and items, and you don't see a drop rate page already made for that item/object, feel free to make one. That's the better place to record stuff, as talk pages can, and often do, get archived and drop rates usually don't(excluding seasonal containers of course), hence why usually drop rate tables don't go on talk pages. I've already moved the ones you added to existing talk pages, so you don't need to worry about those, just keep collecting all of that helpful data. Cheers! - Doodleplex 21:47, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

I think I've seen two drop table formats (or usages). One which records the number of bags and the total received, and the other which records the instances of a particular drop, regardless of quantity dropped. Do we have any tables that can accommodate recording the range and frequency, rather than just the average? In particular one that can allow for a material to drop more than once from a specific bag? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 16:23, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
I'm not sure, but I think the answer might be no. I do think I remember seeing a drop rate page that had both table used though, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm a little busier than usual with real life, so I'd suggest poking around Category:Drop rates, and see if you can't find anything that works. If not, just stick with the tables you were using at the start for now, and hopefully when I'm not as busy I'll look into trying to make something. - Doodleplex 16:54, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

Someone posted a massive summary of loot rewards after 1,000s of openings on Reddit. Perhaps you can credit him and post that table here is some static form (for posterity). Keenedge (talk) 21:00, 24 April 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I've been personally researching more of the specific drops than aggregate, but sounds like something that would be good to check out. I don't get over to Reddit much, could you point me to it specifically? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 21:47, 24 April 2019 (UTC)

Champ bags and their drops[edit]

Hi! I'm planning on doing research on champ bags, their drops and the champs who drop them this summer. We could pool the data, if you'd like? I could add it directly on your pages, put it on one of mine and make it accessible to you, or something else entirely. --Faelys 02:06, 15 May 2018 (UTC)

I'd be glad to assist where I can. I have been interested in investigating the ranges and frequencies, not just the averages, so I have generally sought to open and record things one at a time, paying attention to the order in which things drop and the individual piles (2 drops of 1 material isn't quite the same as 2 of that material, imo). I've been a bit on hiatus from the focused work of before, since the pages were getting so big and it took a lot of time to record carefully. At the moment, I'm focusing more on where the bags come from. Given the size of the pages I've put together, I had been considering moving the data to the respective talk/drop rate pages. To that end, I have been slowly trying to tweak the tables and find dates in my records to add to the older records, but it has not been a priority. Feel free to use any of the data I've collected in what you're doing, or as a source to start organizing your thoughts or tables. If you have an idea of how you would record stuff differently, put together a mock up and let me know? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 04:12, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
I agree with your recording method! At least for champ bags, I've been more focused on getting a complete drop table, though, and it is very time-consuming, so I don't have complete data for those. I've only recorded the first time I get each drop (2, 3 and 5 of one thing counting each as a unique drop) until now. I've recorded PvP loot boxes the way you describe, though. I'm also interested in the way the contents scale down (or not) by character level.
I think your tables are very complete. If you moved them to individual container subpages, I would definitely contribute, and I can help moving them once you've figured it out. If not, maybe a Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Projects page? In the meanwhile, on the subject of where the bags come from and if you're interested, here's my champion drops research and my more basic list of champs. --Faelys 02:34, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

On Wiki of Gold[edit]

Hey, just a heads up in case you're wondering: we're aware that this edit was archived without being approved. As this was your second contribution to Set 492, and you've already received your gold for your first contribution, you wouldn't have been eligible for extra gold anyway so we won't be unarchiving this set. —Idris User Idris signature.png 18:09, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

Salvage on Hero's weapons[edit]

You added a new section for salvage results on some WvW Hero weapons. Don't they have the same salvage as regular rare weapons? - BuffsEverywhere (talk) 13:24, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

Probably, but since they take a full reward track to earn, I don't plan to research any further once I've unlocked the skins, barring any odd results. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 05:00, 29 December 2018 (UTC)

Drop Rate Research[edit]

Hi! Do you think there is any way we could add a location column in your drop research tables on PvP Loot Boxes? I've found that location affects the scaling of the contents, so it would be an important addition for me to be able help out, since I open most of my boxes on low-level characters. Thanks! --Faelys 18:02, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

I don't see any reason that we couldn't add another column. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it would have to be added on a page by page basis. Are you sure it's varying by location (if so, probably by effective level?) as opposed to character level? Could you give me some specific examples of how you've seen this play out, so I can figure out how to best implement? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 16:07, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
For some reason, in certain areas, the contents will scale to the character's level; in others, no. I've detailed the research on Talk:PvP Loot Box. I would think just the one column would be ok. Do you think a bot could do that for us? (Sorry about not signing earlier!) --Faelys 18:02, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
Interesting. I have the Mistlock pass, so I'll have to see if I have any boxes with which to test. It occurred to me that since this is specific to sub-80 specifically and most pages do not yet have that section and I think most basic PvP/WvW boxes are fairly standardized at this point, we should just need a template version that you can add to the page along with the headers. I'll do some investigation and let you know here. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 18:42, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
Haven't had a chance to test any, but how's this look? Veteran Inquest Loot Box/Drop rate Adeira Tasharo (talk) 19:40, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
User:Adeira_Tasharo/Sandbox/Ascalon_Reward_Track#Raptor_Loot_Box seems to support the split. Alas, there is more than one Raptor_Loot_Box, so I haven't yet decided how to move that out into Main space yet. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 00:44, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
Looks good to me! How about I start copy-pasting the Veteran Inquest Loot Box table to the boxes I am working on whenever I go on a data-recording spree? --Faelys 22:06, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
For Vet boxes, it could be ok? Just need to adjust for the champ boxes? Any table I've set up should have an empty column after the champ box, I've found that to be a common random drop slot. For standard boxes, see one of these: Harpy, Bird, Undead Hylek, Undead Shark They should be pretty much C&P from Raptor unless I made an error. I'm also trying to better standardize the table layout and number of columns. Feel free to ping any here that need checking, and I'll be glad to take a look. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 22:52, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
Looks like some boxes may be additionally complex. Priest of Balthazar Loot Box/Drop rate has that first material drop that seems to be a given and level linked, but the random drop slots may still be area affected? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 19:59, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
Looks like this could be a way to determine champ box "families". Veteran Inquest Loot Box drops Box of Lab Equipment ID 44133 (exo) at high levels, and at 35 drops (mw) ID 44131. Now to acquire enough of the same Vet/Champ PvP/WvW loot boxes and proper character levels to test further. I wonder if the levels at which rarity shifts are the same on all champ boxes. (Large Candy Bag acquired from Steve on level 29 was Fine.) Adeira Tasharo (talk) 00:54, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
I just added Template:Container level scaling that I'm going to roll out on the pages with sub-80 sections outside my userspace. Not sure how to do it yet, but can probably use that to find all of those pages with a sub-80 section. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 21:00, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
Hi, sorry for not coming back to you sooner, I tend to wiki edit in very irregular spurts. I just wanted to note that I created Bjora Marches Chest/Drop rate according to the Harpy template, if you want to check I did it the way you intended it to. (It appears that it doesn't scale.) --Faelys 20:09, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
I'm only just looking into that reward track and haven't yet convinced myself to run through it just for research purposes, but aside from possibly tweaking the Blank Line based on more data, it looks good so far! Adeira Tasharo (talk) 00:49, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
Because of you I now open PVP rankup rewards on low level characters. Thanks for all the drop rate research! --Life Infusion «T» 22:45, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi.[edit]

I've asked you this a couple of times on discussion pages, but I doubt you've noticed; at any rate you've never answered that I've seen. Would you want my ogre champ bag results or not? SarielV 20 x 20px 21:01, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Hey, sorry for not replying, I'd not seen. Thanks for pinging me here! I'm not opposed to any data, though I've personally been more looking for the individual drops of each bag, and per specific container. Do you have it posted somewhere already? If not, can you give me a sense of how you have it formatted? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 21:36, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
It's [here], not exactly formatted like yours are but pretty similar. I stopped opening them after they introduced the Unidentified Gear; there's another stack and a half in storage. I had a hard drive failure on the drive that held that data a few weeks ago, so I probably couldn't convert what's up easily. SarielV 20 x 20px 23:27, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
Actually, looks like I have an older copy with 196 entries on a flash drive, so I could clean it up some. SarielV 20 x 20px 23:31, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
Ooo, nice and specific. And if I read your notes correctly, all are champ bag ID 44416 [&AgGArQAA]? I pulled it into OpenOffice Calc, and it looks like I/we/you could take the code off that page and use || as a delimiter. Do you have any indication of the date of opening? After resorting the columns to line up with my tables, I started to work on formulas that could write the basic code, such as =IF(A6=0;"{{no}}";IF(A6=1;"{{token|Unidentifiable Object}}";"X");"X"), with the intent to put them together as additive text in a later column, but I haven't done that in OpenOffice (or not in a while). I may have to look up the syntax. I know I've done similar in Google Sheets (forget if you can import delimited) or Excel (don't have presently). I'd thought about trying to do something with salvage results, but I want to keep it in the cloud since I too have lost a decent bit of data in crashed drives. I would want to establish the range as well as the average, and there's not a really good way to do that on Wiki. It'd be more of a spreadsheet thing. Oh, and I pinged someone on Discord that might be you. May be easier to chat there. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 00:54, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

Drop rate research header template[edit]

Hi, I would like to create a page for drop rate research for the "Plains of Golghein" Strongbox similar to those you created for others. Would it be okay if I would use Template:Individual contents header? I would like to keep it consistent and use available resources but I don't want to put your name on a page you don't have anything to do with without asking first. Terrkaan (talk) 19:08, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for asking! I have no issue with that being used. Maybe it's time to generalize it a bit more? I've thought about adding more specific/visual examples and/or links to such, but have not had a chance. I had a moment, so I made "Plains of Golghein" Strongbox/Drop rate for you. Super Loot Bags[edit]

Hey! I've seen you seem quite invested in determining individual drop rates for the bauble drops from the Super Loot Bag. I open 27 each day, and thus far you've probably noted I've only been contributing this to the aggregate data collection for this container, but would you be interested in me collecting my per-opening bauble drop data somehow for you? I can record the baubles gained(and, if/when there are multiple drops of baubles for a single bag opened, record both/all as separate values) and then still contribute the aggregate data to the drop rate research page. Additionally, if you have a preferred way of me formatting this data entry, please do let me know. Apotheotic (talk) 17:23, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for reaching out! Yes, generally I'm interested in the individual drop rates to establish ranges and patterns. Especially some of these larger volume festival bags, I can appreciate that's much harder to do, and have also been contributing to the aggregate data. I would ask that you keep an eye out for the Bauble values missing from the Contents section. Otherwise, I think the Contents section has a pretty solid description of the pattern of the drops. Hardlight and Retro-Forged are possible additional drops, not replacements (that I've seen). The first several bags had seemed to often have one or both as Bauble drops, however since then, many have had no Bauble drops, so I think it was just that random sample. If you are up for a couple as individual drops, Sime started Super Loot Bag/Drop rate. (But I think this is what started that whole discussion, right?) One of these days, I should test if this container triggers level scaling at all. For example, if you open with a character that is less than level 80 in the PvP lobby, can you adjust the rarity of the champion bag? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 19:13, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
Yeah I've been keeping an eye out for that ever-elusive 11-bauble drop, and have been updating the drop ranges when I've seen new entries. I'm more than happy to take a more focused look at my openings instead of doing a "use all" and just looking at totals. I'll keep an eye out specifically for whether any drops are "replaced" by retro-forged or hardlight skins, and how many instances of a "bauble drop" I get per bag. I will contribute it on Sime's page.
Incidentally, I wonder if the drop rate research that Sime made belongs in the user space instead of the overall wiki space, as currently I think it's an orphaned page? As for level scaling, I think I'll leave that particular niche case as a fun excursion for you, heh.
I will likely just save my 27/day bags until the end of the festival, now, then, and open them one by one to contribute to both research pages. Seems prudent. Thanks! Apotheotic (talk) 20:29, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
Linked. Tables updated and sub-80 section added. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 00:24, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
Nice, good to have both links. I added several bag openings but i got so tired and bored, still have 141 bags left to do, i'll hold on to them for now. I think we need to improve the method of data entry if you want any meaningful amount of data added to that page. I made a suggestion on the talk page. Apotheotic (talk) 22:27, 20 April 2022 (UTC)

Chest of Black Lion Goods[edit]

I've been using my 11 accounts to add data to this, were you just looking for patterns from the data or was there something else you wanted this information for? Kenji_03 06:23, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

Yeah, just looking for any patterns or maybe eventually try to establish frequency. Every time I opened one, I tried to be ready to grab a screenshot before moving the cursor so I could document, in case I should get something super rare, such as a contract. About edit on Interlude: Forward[edit]

Hey there! I just saw your edit on Interlude: Forward and got me wondering: are you sure that sentence is that way? I mean, I have screenshots of my playthrough of that instance (and I literally did OCR on them to get the texts) and for me there wasn't "and our people" in the "I've thought about returning home...to the Pale Tree and our people." sentence. I played it as female sylvari so that got me wondering if actually there would be differences. ----Txonä Atan - (talk) 01:54, 16 July 2023 (UTC)

Template Parse Question[edit]

Hi Adeira. I am rn. in progress of creating all Expansion PvE templates for WV daylies and weeklies. Within calculation I sleds added a template to get the week index number. For daily and weekly tables you rewrite the index value for each table using

{{#vardefine:index|{{#expr: ( {{day of year index| {{{date|now}}} {{{1|}}} }} mod 5 )+1 }}}}

I cannot extract the values date|now … 1| do produce. I do need to know what this code segment‘s purpose is to make the index number working and test it for all years to come though. Yet for some reason the number is not always wrong even though the weekly index gets extracted correctly and without being able to debug each value I need to fully understand every variables 🙂 AltairIbnLA (talk) 19:53, 25 December 2023 (UTC)

It seems you're referring to Template:Daily_PvP and Template:Daily_WvW_Only. Unfortunately, I don't really understand the code, I borrowed the the template from something similar and fiddled until it cooperated in highlighting the right objective. Now that I think about it, if the functionality is based on the number of the day of the year, and calculated by math, will it break at the end of the year, especially for increments that aren't a factor of 365, and then what about a leap year?
P.S. Did you add the comments here Talk:Wizard's Vault/List of objectives: Difference between revisions? Or at least working on a similar task? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 20:17, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
P.S. It may help to join GW2 Wiki Discord. I think this link should work Invite link to Discord. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 20:23, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
Hey, leap years are already handles within your code. That is what the if block checks with the parameter L, which returns if year is a leap year or not. If the daylies stay correct after new year or after a leap year we will see soon and next leap year to come.
I did track nrly everything on my own records so far and i can tell several revision changes for daily and weekly rotations (all expansion pve only solely) but so far i focus only on latest rotations /revisions as i myself meinly aim to pretell what daylies and weeklies will be coming ahead, so outdated rotations wont be my focus so fast^^ I will check into the wiki discord.
