Wintersday 2014
Can we put the page Wintersday 2014 on the front page instead of the "A Very Merry Wintersday Redux". This would make it easier to list new items etc.
regards to the last sync
I am not sure we got a consensuses on the changes to the main page I for one dont really like the changes but I cant pinpoint what exactly it is I don't like. but if i had to take a guess the removal of the feature project, and more news (was going to start updating the page), along with the combination of pve and pvp these are different game modes and should be treated as such imho. - Zesbeer 21:10, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

Small typo
Under the living world section for the April 2014 Feature Pack it reads "which streamlines the trasmutation process" Can't edit main page, and it offends my ocd when I login :D Magua (talk) 17:59, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- @ Magua, the featured article bit (which is what you were talking about) can be edited from Template:Main Page/featured. Good spot though, and Jon has updated it. -Chieftain Alex 20:43, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
World Boss Timer
Is there room to include the world boss timer? That's among the most requested links, be great if there was a link to (or even the compact version of) the table on the main page. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:38, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
I need help with a wiki like this one.
I'm making a wiki for my own personal stuff and I want a main page design similar to this one. I'll have a featured article section, and about 4 other sections (instead of the 8 i see here) How do I go about that? I'm using wikidot for my host/designer.15:03, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
Random thought about "Featured Articles"
Unlike gww, I know we're following the Release schedules now. But it came to mind: The Family Business is something I would really have liked to see in _preparations_ for the upcoming Halloween patch.
The wonderful short stories released by ANet has received a lot of criticism for not being accessible enough. Is there anything we could do to bring the short stories (and books/documents) more to the front?
E.g.: Trek of the Zephyrites in connection with the annual Bazaar (if it gets repeated), Shadowbox for SAB, etc.
Maybe it would even be possible to create a (very narrow) second collumn or row next to the release-feature and use this space to link to a "related backstory" (if applicable).
There's just a lot of wonderful content that a lot of players have never seen, and if we could do anything to improve on that I'd say we should. :) Food for thought? Titus The Third 19:34, 21 October 2014 (UTC)

Main Page Images
The picture of Eir on the left occasionally has the bottom half all distorted in bright colours (CGA graphics anyone?? :D) like a pixilation of a television station. Since its not always like this I'm wondering if anyone else sees it ever? The easy answer is my hardware, but I just don't think that's it. Puk (talk) 06:48, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- Using Firefox? I've gotten similar behavior across the header background image before today, admittedly I wasn't on the main page though. -Chieftain Alex 10:15, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- I've never seen anything like that anywhere on the wiki. I use Chrome. —Dr Ishmael 12:18, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

I think with the upcoming Beta and the release of the expansion it may be useful to have a link to specializations on the home screen. Under the "Basics" section there is a section called "Characters". There are links to "Attributes", "Skills", and "Traits". It may be useful to have another link here to "Specializations". --Stu (talk) 14:59, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Getting Started
Getting Started should be the first item listed under basics and should include: Starting area, Character creation, Free accounts, etc. Another missing section is Troubleshooting, which should include Support panel (yes, I know support is on the nav bar), etc.
Masteries
Since the release of the Heart of Thorns expansion, I think it would be useful to have a link to Masteries, under the Characters section. There are links to Attributes ▪ Skills ▪ Specializations ▪ Traits. Maybe Masteries should also appear here? Stu (talk) 14:50, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Transmutation under crafting
Seeing as the Wardrobe replaced Transmutation, it doesn't make sense that Transmutation is still on the front page. Perhaps it should be removed, and Wardrobe should replace it, or get added somewhere.
Need a "Raid" link in the "Player vs Environment" section?
Hi everyone,
I was just looking for raids in the frontpage and didn't find it. Is this worth adding it in the PvE section?
Thanks --Stephane Lo Presti talk 00:39, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
- I think we definitely should; raid is not a big part of PVE. I can't edit it myself, so I imagine an admin needs to do so? -Darqam (talk) 14:09, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
- Added under the PvE section. —Ventriloquist 15:51, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

Why isn't the Super Adventure Festival listed as current living world? With Spring 2016 being Next. It also wasn't updated when Salvation Pass was the current release. --Neok (talk) 15:01, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
- If I'm not mistaken, I think only the admins have the power to update that to prevent vandalism, so it really depends on how busy or active the admins are to update it, though I see Super Adventure Festival listed in the "Living World" section. =o Also I'm guessing that they won't list Spring 2016 until it actually releases instead of having a page that goes nowhere on the main page of the wiki. - Doodleplex 16:47, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
- The featured article is at Template:Main Page/featured, not on Main Page itself, and is only semiprotected --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 18:34, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, other than the wording - which in this case was done by Vahkris (super guy btw, we really depend on him too much for the featured section) - it really is very easy to edit it into the main page... provided you know where the source page is. I guess we could have a link to the Template:Main Page/featured page somewhere on the mainpage. Maybe beside the editcopy link? -Chieftain Alex 19:14, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

502 on Elder Wood Planks
Sorry, I didn't know where else to put this :/ But I can't open the Elder Wood Plank Page. It always results in a 502-error :/ --Cloned (talk) 13:53, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
- Took less than two seconds to load for me, I'm assuming it's because of all the recipe lists on the page. What about Mithril Ingot? —Ventriloquist 14:55, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
- I get the 502 error on both pages. I'll try again later today. There are many 502-errors on the german wiki (not only for me, for many people) which just appear randomly while editing but this error here doesn't go away for me. --Cloned (talk) 06:32, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- Elder Wood Plank has a server processing time of 42 seconds. Webpage requests to the server timeout after 30 seconds, so you would always see a 502 after editing/purging that page. (It loads within 2 seconds after processing serverside - and yes it is because so many items use it, we should split this page up.) -Chieftain Alex 06:38, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- And lol Mithril Ingot takes 228 seconds to process, the longest I have ever seen any page process for. -Chieftain Alex 06:39, 12 October 2016 (UTC)

- Part of the issue might be that {{Guild upgrade list result format}} has its own calls to item icon (we don't do this on the recipe list by discipline template because it rapidly uses a lot of the available template expansion depth) -Chieftain Alex 06:49, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
