Talk:Account Medals
so yeah - i was thinking this was important - but about 2 months out noone else shares my thinking :D
either that or there are much more important things to do?A Liability 08:25, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
- You expanded a bit on the medals, but now the page essentially says the same things three times. An intro sentence or two, and then a section for each medal makes more sense. Manifold 04:33, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
- I was thinking the same, when was trying to view WvW medals :) was too lazy to create the article from scratch though :P updated some medals :) --Rick Fulton 08:15, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
Order medals[edit]
Does anyone know at exactly what stage these are completed? My original char has caused the Whispers one to appear, but I didn't note which stage it happened at. Two subsequent chars have opted for the Vigil and the Priory but no medals yet. — snograt 16:39, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
- They appear once you've finished the first "chapter" of the Order's storyline. So round about level 40, if I remember correctly. It does look pretty snazzy with them all. :) ~ ♥ Kailani! ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ 16:49, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
- You officially join an Order at 26, which makes it odd that you still haven't "completed initiation". I have 7 characters at level 35 now, representing all three Orders, and still only the banner from my first character has appeared. Manifold 16:52, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
- You join the order as an initiate. You don't become a full member until you complete your first mission. :) ~ ♥ Kailani! ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ 17:00, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
- Right, Part IV of your personal storyline is your initiation into an order. You join the order as an initiate (as Kailani said) at the beginning of the arc, then you become a full member when you complete the arc. —Dr Ishmael 17:54, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
- Mental note (in writing): Vigil banner awarded after Minister's Defense / Quaestor's Siege; Whispers after An Apple a Day; Priory after Mightier than the Sword. Will note on those pages, plus this one. When I have more time than now (damn early shifts). — snograt 17:16, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
- Dunnit. Didn't like using the word "quest" on the individual pages, but I'm not sure what GW2 quests are called. Probably quests. Maybe someone could knock up icon-sized banners to add to those little notes to make them more standouty. Image manipulation is also not among my skill set. Or englishing. — snograt 18:39, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
- I've been calling them "chapters" - the overall story is arranged in arcs composed of chapters. Makes sense to me and my wife, anyway. —Dr Ishmael 18:51, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
To Do[edit]
Ok so the page is looking much better than before, but still needs a few elements - I think each of the entries AKA medal sections needs a visual with the particular medal and text beneath them to say exactly what is displayed when hovering over. some verification is still needed for the PVP medals as well as the % world medal.A Liability 00:11, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Much better. Maybe the world % could be changed to something like "...is gradually uncovered as your world exploration progresses." It would need someone with <25% to check what it says at present. It will be interesting to see if the bunny is permanent or whether that changes with rank - not something I'm ever likely to discover! Ask me again about the chest in about 5 years or so. — snograt 05:37, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- The PvP Rank medal changes to follow your rank, of course. I saw the different emblems in the .dat file a while back. —Dr Ishmael 12:28, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- The PvP Rank medal actually seems to be following the amount of Glory earnt instead of rank points - I was using some Glory Boosters and when in game I was still a "rabbit" I already had a deer at my login screen. --Rick Fulton 15:25, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
- well I was thinking that each added picture of the medals could have their mouse over descriptions right under them. I'll go and improve some of the language to incorporate some of the added information here. A Liability 22:16, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
- Speaking of dat file... Could some get the images for all the medals including the order banner? - Yandere 15:40, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
- Oh geez, now I have to remember where they were... I'll try to remember to look tonight. —Dr Ishmael 15:52, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
some clarity if possible please[edit]
"The rank displayed depends on your total cumulative glory, including from glory boosters, which means your in game rank may not match your account rank" does this mean the account medal shows your rank without the bonus of glory bonus points? if this is true I think its needs rewording to say the rank displayed when playing (same location as pve exp bar) shows your cumulative golry, including from glory boosters etc etc.Spark GOLD "talk" 19:13, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
- Ok, after looking at it I think that the medal changes in relation to the pvp title, is this how it is meant to be, so dolyak rank although is r20 wont give you the dolyak account medal till you have achieved mercenary title. the main page I think should be rewarded to reflect this atm its a bit vague on when it changes.Spark GOLD "talk" 12:31, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
- If you can rewrite it to be more clear, please do so. —Dr Ishmael 14:14, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
- I don't pvp that often to hit the next title soon to confirm if its based on the title, if anyone can say yes for definite by hitting a title track ill rewrite :)Spark GOLD "talk" 21:11, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
- I can confirm the account medal increases with the pvp title, gladiator gives deer, mercenary gives dolyak medal etc etc.Spark GOLD "talk" 16:36, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

PvP medal[edit]
Looks like this one is linked to the wrong value. It's linked to the "Points scored in PvP" achievement progression instead to the accounts PvP rank. And since that title doesn't count rank points earned at the end of a match or points from tournament rewards, it won't really match the account's PvP rank. So that may be a bug. I don't know if the bug is the title not counting things it should, or the medal not being linked to what it should be linked, or the wording in the medal saying it's PvP rank instead points scored in PvP matches. Glow[edit]
The exploration medal and the three medals below have a glow on the example screen shot. However, if I login to my account, my deer does not glow, although all other medals do. Is there some reason behind this? Or simply a bug? Or did they remove the glow around the pvp rank icon until you reach a specific rank? Any ideas? Kaede (talk) 12:50, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
Permission to use images[edit]
Hi, I saw your pictures gone up on medals that account and I would like your permission to use them and put them in the guildwiki2.es. And sorry it not understand me I'm not very good with English. --189.134.39.218 23:53, 29 December 2013 (UTC) Angelica
- You can use them, because they are not our images. They belong to Anet and can therefore be used wherever and whenever by anyone so long as they follow Anet's licensing terms, which as another wiki in anet's own network, you certainly do. Psycho Robot (talk) 23:58, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- Ok thanks for answering. :) --189.134.39.218 14:53, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
