Path to Start

Spider Scurry is a Guild Race where members transform into a spider and must pass through Dostoev Sky Peak while dealing with the dredge. A large part of this race includes vertical movement as players must use their Leap skill to cross large gaps between catwalks. Following the blue flags on your minimap and keeping a good eye out is vital, as your next target may actually be behind you across a gap.

Strategies[edit]

Primary article: Guild Race#Strategies
  • Take your time when you're not in danger. Despite the name, racing quickly along the course is a sure way to stumble upon multiple traps and die quickly, forcing you to start over.
  • Use the Search skill (#1) continuously, press Ctrl + Right Click to turn it into an autoattack. Traps are your main enemy along the course, and hitting two traps in a row will quickly cause you to go back to the beginning. Waiting a couple seconds for it to come off cooldown, in a safe location, is usually preferable to blindly wandering into a spike trap.
  • This can be a difficult race to properly set up escorts towards the middle area, as they will either need their own method of teleporting (Thief Shortbow, for example), or will need to travel with the racers until they reach the areas that are hard to reach. Alternatively, those who will clear for others can becoming spiders then use the return skill upon reaching the desired point on the course.
  • Remember that, like most targeted teleports, you can actually target the underside of a wooden platform and the teleport will place you on top. This is absolutely necessary to know for the first required teleport a shortly after reaching the open area inside the cavern.
  • Spider Decoys can take a few hits, and enemies tend to target them over you. If traveling in a group, try to coordinate use of the decoys to get a group of racers past them if there are no nearby escorts.
  • The Leap teleport skill is not only useful for getting across a gap, but also to bypass enemies and cross difficult terrain since you cannot jump. Use it to speed up traveling if you cannot find a way past an obstacle.
  • It is easy to lose track of where the next set of flags are, due to the amount of vertical space and gaps you need to cross. Keep a close eye on the mini-map for the next flag.
  • The last set of flags before the finish can easily be skipped as you can just jump off the edge to get there. If this happens, travel back up the nearby ramp to get to the last flag, then return to the finish line.
  • Worst case scenario, the finish line is near the first jump, making it relatively easy to return and retry the harder part of the course if you miss a flag.

Walkthrough[edit]

Yellow lines in the following screen shots represent running. The pink lines are use of the web leap (skill 3). Yellow lines may not be trap free paths, continue to use the 1 skill.

  • Not all images here were taken during a race, some are edited to add mission flags.
