Talk:Pistol Whip
Wait...is this really a sword skill?-- Shew 23:28, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm an idiot. The description says sword.-- Shew 23:28, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Blinding powder plus pistol whip. "Tropic Thunder" reference in the making 74.83.4.248 01:02, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Does this skill pull the target towards you (thus the "whip"), or just daze them? In essence, does the thief have to be in melee range to get the full benefit of this skill? Armond 18:52, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
- Nah, "to pistol-whip somebody" means to slap him with a pistol. So i assume this is a melee attack | Corvus 20:47, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
- I didn't know that. Sounds like a trivia reference. --Xu Davella 03:34, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
New Name[edit]
The new name of this skill is 'Whip & Flurry' source | Corvus 22:58, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- One, the timestamp of that image needs to be checked (do you have a link to the blog it's featured on)?
- Two, while I'm all for using this with skills we already know the images of, there are two Invisible Stalker images on that, and only one of them can be right... Aqua (T|C) 00:22, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
- also if u look at the guardian skills listed above the original picture, u can see some of the names are DEFINITELY not the right name (check symbol of swiftness http://blawver7.blogspot.com/2011/10/ui-assets.html 74.139.68.70 02:32, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

- Well, Pistol Whip was the name of one of the most powerful Witch Hunter skill in WAR (the equivalent of thieves). It also had the same effect: stand behind your victim, use that to stun him for a few sec and do some dot, finish him, then jump back to save your a**. I guess the reference to WAR was too obvious, so I'm not surprised they changed the name. - Sir Mad 89.83.230.187 04:33, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
- Just to point out, a common phrase such as pistol whip generally is not a reference to anything, but use of the common phrase. Maybe pistol whip is a reference to the secondary function of the Falcon 2 from perfect dark... (yes it's a form of internet sarcasm). Venom20 04:43, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
- I think it's probably a reference to whipping someone with the butt of a pistol. 05:39, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

- Say Pistol Wip.
- Pistol Whip.
- No, Pistol Wip.
- That's what I'm saying, Pistol Whip.

Channel Time?[edit]
I think that little detail is kind of important. I don't know it myself, if someone could check and add it in, that would be great. --JunBerry 21:31, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
How many hits does this do?[edit]
This skill confuses me. I see four attacks get made in quick succession, and Signet of Malice heals me eight times, as if I did eight attacks. --XacTactX (talk) 19:09, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
- Check your combat log. I never really paid specific attention either. --Supernick530 (talk) 20:01, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- The pistol whip itself deals 1 packet of damage. The sword then swings 4 times, but each swing deals 2 simultaneous packets of damage. —Dr Ishmael 12:29, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Pistol Whip Bug[edit]
There is a bug with pistol whip now, that wasn't around before.
When one runs for a little bit then hits the skill whilst still running, you hit with the pistol whilst moving then stop for the sword slashes. This is fine, except when you run again, you get "teleported" back to where you first started running. Sometimes, when you use pistol whip, your sword hits don't even do any damage to the enemy, although the pistol part at the beginning still does. Wiki editors may want to add this as a bug to the page.
