stacking?[edit]
Does immobilize stack at all? by which i mean duration.
-Found it. yes it does. add to main page.
- Note on the article says that this condition doesn't stack in duration - but is that really true? --Combatter 18:15, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Used in video[edit]
The warrior in the sever artery - gash - final thrust video seems to use this.

Rename?[edit]
Should be Immobilize, I think? (It's also "knock down".)- Infinite - talk 21:12, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- I think it's Immobilize too. Eive 23:21, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Identical to Cripple?[edit]
I'm fairly certain that "immobilize" implies that the target is rendered immobile, not simply hampered. It's described as being between cripple and knock down, so I'm fairly certain that it shuts down movement entirely, but still permits skill usage. The "cited source" for the effect of immobilize doesn't actually say what it does, so I'm not sure why that's there. Can anyone find a better source for the actual effect? —Proton 01:53, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
- However I can't find a suitable source, I have no actual doubts that the crippling condition slows movement, while immobilization stops initial movement completly. I base this on this specific line stated on the Cripple page: "While crippled, a character will visibly limp." My thoughts on immobilization are based on, well, other games, what makes it speculation! =) -- Cyan 08:51, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Jumping[edit]
Does immobilize affect jumping? -- Blue Phoenix 00:10, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
- Jumping is mobility, so probably.--Gerroh 02:40, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
List needs to be updated.[edit]
I looked at the warrior's skills. Face Me and Impaling Throw seem to no longer be usable skills. One of them doesn't have an outdated tag, or whatever needs to be done to old skills. There's also a Warrior trait called Mobile Strikes that breaks you out of Immobilized, that isn't listed. I'm guessing other professions have disparities too. I would do it but I'm not familiar with policy. 96.39.94.86 02:34, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- Game's not released yet, and still has awhile to go, it's not a big deal, really. ¯\(°_0)/¯--Gerroh 02:41, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- Don't brush off comments like this one Gerroh. When an IP, or, hell, anyone, takes the time to point out some disparities they noticed, don't brush them off and tell them they've wasted their time because it "isn't a big deal." That just discourages people from editing. Aqua (T|C) 02:54, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- @IP, policy shmolicy. There isn't a policy when it comes to editing a page. Well, I suppose the policy is no vandalism, but we can see that you have good intentions to better the page. Feel free to try your hand at updating the list. If it isn't done by tomorrow, I"ll look into it. Unfortunately I'm off to bed and I have to get up early for work in the morning :(. Thus I won't have time to get to it until tomorrow. The only thing I ask is that you try to keep the skills in alphabetical order. Cheers and thanks for pointing it out. Venom20 03:02, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- I wasn't "brushing off" the comment, it's just that having a wiki for a game that isn't even released is kinda stupid, primarily because the game is constantly changing and being updated, coupled with the fact that no one can actually use 99% of the info on this wiki. In short, my attitude towards this is "Let it be, fix it when it actually matters".--Gerroh 21:50, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Spike Trap[edit]
I'm not familiar with editing on wikis or anything, so maybe some-one else can.
In the section 'skills that trigger immobilized', ranger section, there's 'spike trap'. But spike trap causes cripple, not immobilized. So it has to be removed from this list, correct? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.206.214.130 (talk).
- The description isn't up-to-date. When triggered, Spike Trap immobilizes for round about 1 second. Gnarf 13:24, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Added Muddy Terrain[edit]
I noticed that Muddy Terrain for Ranger was not in the list of Utility skills, so I added it in :) (Legendary Steve 13:24, 25 June 2012 (UTC))
- There's no need to post a comment every time you add a skill to one of these lists, we trust users to edit in good faith. Thanks for helping! —Dr Ishmael 13:30, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
Grasping Vines and Entangle[edit]
I have a problem with those skills listed on this page, because technically they do not apply "immobilized" condition. They work in a similar way, though, but that's not enough for me. When you go on a page called "Immobilized" (which is a name of a condition), you probably want to learn which skills cause that condition, and Grasping Vines and Entangle certainly are not them. Maybe we should get rid of them or make a section with skills that have a similar effect? What do you guys think? —TheyCallMeIgi 16:20, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- They DO apply the immobilized condition. At least when I got affected by Entangle in BWE3, the immobilized condition was (re-)applied every few seconds. Gnarf 16:25, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, so I've done some research and you're right. Those skills do apply immobilized condition. I was certain that at least Grasping Vines doesn't, but I was wrong. It would be nice to make a note on the skill pages, though. TheyCallMeIgi 20:51, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
NPCs unaffected by direction lock?[edit]
It seems to me that npc enemies are only restricted from moving while immobilized. They seem to be able to rotate freely to face me when I try to flank them...added note listing it as a bug unless someone from Anet says working as intended. --Pyroblade 02:02, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not convinced this is always the case (or maybe it's been fixed). I've been running around for a while on my Necromancer using the main hand dagger, so I'd typically immobilize a foe with Dark Pact, then run behind them to channel Life Siphon. Visually, foes don't turn around, and I don't take damage, which implies it works as intended. However, there have definitely been some strange times where I thought a foe shouldn't be able to turn around and they did anyway. So maybe it's just inconsistent. More research needed, either way... Vili 点 22:33, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
- It's not the NPC. It's th skills. Most skills will force the creature to face the target when used while not moving (for players, they must also not be holding the right mouse button so the camera is free). These skills should simply not activate instead. Since most NPC skills behave like this, immobilize is useless to prevent them from turning around. You can easily test this behavior at Brigantine Isles with Flamestrike. Disable autoattack, find a Cutthroat Sinper alone. While he is behind your character and the character is facing the other way, try to activate Flamestrike while moving away from him. It won't activate. Then try to activate it while not moving and not holding the camera, and the character will turn around. Now do it after he uses his immobilize net, and the character will turn around if you are not holding the camera button, as the skill moves the character ignoring immobilize. Voice-over?[edit]
I know there is one when you get hit by immobilize/and or stun moves. Its not listed in a voice quotes box here. 96.58.200.3 18:19, 29 October 2013 (UTC) Yumiko Ishida
"name got changed"[edit]
Uh... no it didn't. All my (warrior) skills that immobilize still call it "Immobilize." Ones that remove it say "Remove immobile", but that's not the actual condition —Dr Ishmael 03:01, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
- The name of the actual effect is changed. All the skill facts still say Immobilize.--Relyk ~ talk < 03:30, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
Missing skills[edit]
Seems to me 2 things are missing, one is staff #3 on daredevil removes immobilize, and the trait natural stride from the druid reduces it duration or did I just miss them?
Ancient seeds and Vine Surge missing?[edit]
i just wanted to ask why staff 4 that removes immobilise from allies and applies to foes isn't here. Also why the trait ancient seeds is not here also, as it adds immobilise to foes that are stunned, dazed, knocked down or launched. Are these not classed as immobilisation? --mypinkbunny 15th October 2016
- Well, the wiki is updated by players/humans, so it's possible to forget to list some of the skills or traits. However, thanks to player feedback, we can fix those overlooked mistakes. I've added the two examples you listed, so thanks for the feedback! —Ventriloquist 14:49, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks was my first time helping the wiki so was unsure how to do it, -mypinkbunny 24/10/2016
