Talk:Burst
Does anyone know where a burst skill is displayed on the skill bar? I was looking for a warrior skill bar example, but I couldn't find one.-- Shew 12:09, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- Same where are ele attunements or ranger pet control or guardian virtues or necro life force bar. 82.131.230.125 12:14, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Cooldown reduction[edit]
While Earthshaker, Skull Crack, Kill Shot and Forceful Shot are burst skills, they also are Hammer/Mace/Rifle/Harpoon gun skills. The question is, are they affected by Gun Mastery and Blunt Weapon Master? Gnarf 10:44, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Burst skills are not (or, at least, should not) be skills per se. They are profession mechanic abilities, regardless of that they happen to carry the name "burst skill." Mediggo 10:56, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Well, it can always be argued that profession mechanics are just an additional set of skills, which they probably are. But you probably get my point. Mediggo 10:56, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- In-game they only show "Burst." Not "Burst skill." —Dr Ishmael 12:53, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Interesting. Traits still mention "burst skills". Mediggo 12:57, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

- Yes, and others mention "meditation skills" or "venom skills" even though the name of the skill type is only Meditation/Venom. Elementalist and mesmer traits use this all over the place for "signet skills" / "arcane skills" / "glamour skills" / "shatter skills". —Dr Ishmael 13:02, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- So they're really just bursts. Makes sense to me. Mediggo 13:07, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- For clarity: Burst skill cooldown is not affected by cooldown reduction of weapon specific traits (e.g. Sharpened Axes does not reduce the cooldown of Eviscerate) Even though this skill is executed with the Axe, it does not count as one. -- Axolotl 08:44:46, July 1st 2013 (UTC)

Stun Proof[edit]
I am not sure where or how it should be noted, however if a player has enough adrenaline they can still use their burst skill even if other skills have all been temporarily disabled due to a stun effect. 98.124.8.147 03:50, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
Dragon Slash skills missing?[edit]
This page doesn't list the Bladesworn's three Dragon Slash abilities, which all have the Burst tag. I didn't want to edit the page in case they were omitted for a specific reason, though.

- The problem was the previous template applies the query
Has skill context::Profession mechanic Has skill type sort order::Burst |PvE Is historical::N
- which is fine, except for the first bit (has skill context) which unintentionally excluded the skills outside of the F1-F5 slots. I've swapped the template over to Template:Weapon skill table which is marginally less pretty, but actually shows everything. -Chieftain Alex 17:45, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
- That's why I prefer manual table rows on skill type pages, first they can be easier modified and second they allow to keep track and preserve history. I originally designed these automatic skill tables for large pages such as Chain or Sequence skill that due to their insame amount of skills would be outdated otherwise.
- If you want to use the automatic generated skill table, you might want to set the parameter "showWeapon=true" to reduce the added subheader rows and thus increase the readability. --Tolkyria (talk) 19:41, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
After fighting to survive, spontaneous combustion= death[edit]
When im in a battle, and become "almost dead" and are fighting for survival to get back up, and happen to be successful, a banner across the screen says rally and then my character is on fire for no reason.
If I don't use my primal (0) ability to go super Saiyan, I will have my life drain out of me and eventually kill me if I keep on receiving attacks or sometimes even after I defeet my attackers. And other times, that ability (0) doesn't help at all.
Eventually this leads to my true death caused by spontaneous combustion not by the afflictions of my enemies.
My health bar or bubble could be 50%, but if I'm on fire Ricky Bobby, it will eventually consume me.
On my person do I have a cursed object that's causing me to spontaneously combust, or is something wrong with my character?
Is this happening to anybody else who is a Norn species? 174.56.74.18 00:19, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- You are using the Vengeance (skill) skill. It has only a 25% chance to fully revive you, otherwise you instantly die.~Sime 01:21, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
