Dialogue[edit]
- Flowering Meadow
- I'm sorry to trouble you, but would you share a story or two with me of the lands beyond? It's been a long time since I've left the wilds.
- Sure. What would you like to know?
- Have you met any kodan in your travels?
- Plenty. I spent some time in the northern Shiverpeaks battling Jormag.
- The Shiverpeaks! What about the santuaries? Oh, please tell me you've been to one of the sanctuaries!
- What is this really about?
- Flowering Meadow: Oh, I am sorry; I got carried away. There is...someone I know who lives in a sanctuary. Someone I miss terribly.
- Flowering Meadow: His name is Winter Sky. Could I...could I trouble you to bring a letter to him? I cannot go myself.
- Flowering Meadow: Oh, and flowers! I will write the letter now, if you would be kind enough to gather some flowers for me.
- Perhaps another time.
- Hello again, Wayfinder. Thank you for agreeing to help me.
- (Skip to option "What can you tell me..." if talking again right after this)
- I think I've got enough wildflowers here.
- Such lovely flowers! Thank you. You are a very kind outlander. Prepared the letter, I have.
- What can you tell me about Winter Sky to help me find him? (skip directly to "Oh. Oh!" if repeating this dialogue)
- He's as beautiful as the aurora, and his heart is as big and full as the ocean, and he stands so tall, and–
- I was thinking a bit more practical than that.
- Oh. Oh! He lived in the sanctuary called Blue... I can't remember the rest. It's been so long.
- I'll find him, don't worry.
- Thank you. Safe travels. Oh, how I wish I could explore the outside lands as I did before...
- Leave.
- What was it you wanted me to do?
- Collect some wildflowers in the area for my bouquet. I think there is a meadow flowering to the east of here, close to the beehives.
- Ah, right. I'll get on that.
- Never mind. I need to go.
- Winter Sky
- What is it? I'm busy here.
- I've come with a letter and a gift from Flowering Meadow.
- From Flowering Meadow...?
- You intend to play a cruel joke on me. Begone. I have no time for this.
- I'll come back later.
- Was I unclear? Leave me be.
- Would you just look at the letter?
- I do not have time for this. We are under constant siege here, and the bridge must be watched.
- Let me see if I can do something about that.
- I admit, you would not have done all of this for a mere joke. Let me see this letter.
- Here you go.
- The letter? Where did I put that...
- How... She really sent you. My Flowering Meadow...
- I must...I must send her something back. Wildflowers do not bloom here in the ice, but perhaps there is something else.
- I need ice... Not just any ice. For it to survive the journey, it must be special.
- Can you...can you bring me shards of corrupted ice? I must stay here and defend the sanctuary.
- You return with the ice? Thank you. I must prepare something now.
- So what happened between you two?
- We were little more than cubs when we met in the lands between here and Janthir.
- She had journeyed east and I west, each in search of food in a barren year.
- We pursued the same hart, but we only realized when our spears struck it down at the same time.
- We hunted together for the rest of the spring, but that is all.
- The lowlanders would not have welcomed me, and those that do not follow Koda cannot live in the sanctuary.
- Can it wait? I need to go.
- It is done, but I must ask a favor of you. Can you take this letter and this sculpture to her? My leg has swollen from a wound, and I cannot make the journey now.
- I'll bring it to her for you, then.
- Flowering Meadow
- You've returned! Did you find him? Did he get my letter?
- He did, and he's sent you something, also.
- Oh, my sweet Sky. This is beautiful beyond words! He really made this sculpture for me?
- He wanted to come himself, but his leg is injured.
- He's hurt? Is he okay? Is someone taking care of him? He needs medicine, Wayfinder!
- No, no, no. This won't do at all. I need to make him some medicine. Can you gather some things for me?
- Need these herbs, I do. And honey. That's very important. Bring it and I will prepare the mixture.
- Not yet.
- You've brought the ingredients! Here, I will mix them. Please hurry and take it to him.
- I will.
- Maybe later.
- Winter Sky
- You return?
- Flowering Meadow prepared this medicine for your leg.
- She made this for me? That settles it; I will go to her. Let her know that I will make the journey soon.
- Be careful in your travels.
- Not really. I'll come back later.
- Flowering Meadow
- How is he? Did the medicine work? Oh, please tell me it worked.
- It did, and he's coming to see you.
- I don't know. Maybe.
- Flowering Meadow: Is it you? Is it really you?
- Winter Sky: I am sorry that I kept you waiting for so long.
- Flowering Meadow: Oh hush, you silly bear.
- Flowering Meadow: I thought I'd never see you again.
- Distant Thunder: What is the meaning of this? No sailor of the bitter wind is welcome here.
- Distant Thunder: Return to the ice, where your superstitions are wanted. Our village has no need of them.
- Flowering Meadow: Don't talk to him that way! He's not dangerous!
- Distant Thunder: This is not a discussion!
- Distant Thunder: We are prepared to escort you out if needed.
- Winter Sky: It will not be needed. I will not fight you.
- Winter Sky: Don't cry, little flower. It was worth the journey just to see you again.
- Distant Thunder
- Speak quickly. Already expired, my patience has.
- Why won't you let them be together?
- I will not be lectured by an outsider. The good of this village is my concern, and the sailors of the bitter wind do not share our ways.
- 'Then I'll just have to help you see.
- I'd rather speak slowly. So, bye for now.
- You have helped my bearkin and my village. Very well. Open my mind to your counsel, I will, but this is your only chance.
- Driving him away will only drive her away.
- She will recover from the wound in time. She will come to understand my reasons, and she will accept them.
- If you're wrong, you'll lose her forever.
- And what would you have me do instead? Entrust my only child to some wandering sailor?
- Give him a chance. You can always expel him later if you need to.
- Very well. He may stay for now, but I reserve the right to change my mind.
- I am not made of stone, Wayfinder. But I will always do what I must to protect my child. You would do the same.
- I'd better think about what I want to say, then.
- Winter Sky
- Look who it is.
- You two have a lovely homestead.
- Flowering Meadow: You have a kind heart, Wayfinder. You've given us another chance at happiness.
- Winter Sky: I don't know how to repay this debt of gratitude to you. I will find a way someday, I hope.
Notes[edit]
- For step 2 (wild flowers): Despite the flowers appearing as a looted item above the minimap, there is no item in the player's inventory.
- For step 6, the player receives Winter Sky's Letter in their inventory.
- For step 7, the player does not receive any honey in their inventory, the step will complete automatically after the event is completed.
