“The Borderlands are a launching point for many adventurers into the mists. With a heavily fortified location that climbs all the way to the peak of a mountain, it can be a difficult place for enemies to assault and an excellent place for would-be heroes to get their first battle scars.

The Red Alpine Borderlands was the northern map of World versus World.
At the launch of Heart of Thorns, all of the Alpine Borderlands were replaced by the Desert Borderlands. Due to a negative response from the players, the Alpine maps were shortly restored for the Green and Blue Borderlands, while the Red Borderland remained as the Desert variant.
The Red Alpine Borderlands map has not been accessible since, and remains replaced by the Red Desert Borderlands.
