Infused equipment

Infused equipment is an upgraded version of ascended equipment that has an extra infusion slot to the item. This makes it possible to put more infusions into the item, increasing total agony resistance, and survive higher levels of the Fractals of the Mists. Only ascended rings and back items can be infused. Aside from an extra slot, infused items are identical to their non-infused counterparts.

In addition to infusing, ascended rings can also be attuned, which is a similar process that adds an extra infusion slot. A ring that has been both attuned and infused will have two additional infusion slots, three in total. Attuning and infusing can be performed in either order.

Warning: The Mystic Forge will destroy all infusions and upgrades applied to equipment. Infusions can be safely removed prior to infusing by using an Infusion Extraction Device, and then reapplied to the new item.

  • Back items that require an expansion to obtain, including those from raids and Living World content, require a Shard of Crystallized Mists Essence to upgrade; others require a Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence instead.
  • Legendary back items and the precursor Unbound are functionally infused, as they already contain two infusion slots. Other precursors can be "infused" by upgrading them into their legendary forms.

Notes[edit]

  • The upgrading process creates an entirely new item, so you will lose any existing infusions and skins on the original, non-infused gear. Any pieces with selectable stats will also be reset and allow stats to be chosen again.
  • Infused rings give one additional packet of Stabilizing Matrices when salvaged. Attuned Infused rings give two additional packets.
  • Infusion slots were simplified in the July 26, 2016 game update.
  • It appears that amulets were originally going to be infusable too, as there are infused amulets in the API. They currently cannot be made.
