Elite Avatars of Despair are tough Kryptis found across the Horn of Maguuma during events as well as occupying areas in Amnytas.

Swiftness (60s) - Movement speed increased by 33%; stacks duration.
Eldritch Link (when linked to an Anomalous Tentacle) - The High Kryptis is protecting the tentacle, making it invulnurable[sic]. Kill the High Kryptis to remove the protection.
Marks Targets for Death (during The Defense of Amnytas) - This creature has the ability to mark characters for death, causing them to die if they're unable to remove the curse in time.

- Frenzy - Fire two sets of nine blasts in a W-shaped pattern.
- Touch of Misery - Fire a projectile towards a foe.
- Spiraling Despair - Charge in random directions and leave behind pools that pulse
3 Confusion. - Vexing Anguish - Charge forward and leave behind damaging fields that pulse 1 Confusion.
- Wail of Despair - Track foes with concentrated despair that inflicts damage after a delay.
