Crane

“Cranes are inherently opportunistic omnivores, suiting their diets to the changing seasons. They construct beautiful platform nests above bodies of water.
Cranes are a Canthan species of moa[1][2] that inhabit bamboo forests.
Canthan legends say that the crane flew too close to the sun and singed its wings, making the species fear the sky and stay on the ground. However, they are known to fly quite well. They are often seen on land because their legs have adapted to allow them to wade in the shallows in search of fish.[3] Some scholars theorise that they may share a common ancestor with Elona's raptors.[1]

- I once heard a scholar propose the idea that Canthan moas and Elonian raptors share a common ancestor. Ridiculous! But then again, the way that crane roars… Hmm…

- Salome: Canthan legends say that, long ago, the crane flew too close to the sun and singed its wings, making it fear the sky and stay grounded. But these endlessly graceful creatures, with their pale, pristine plumage, fly quite well. You see them on land so much because their long legs are perfect for wading the shallows in search of tasty marine morsels.
