Dialogue[edit]

Blustering Squall: Well, come on then, cub. Do you have what it takes to join the fishing legends of old?
Talk more option tango.png What are the rules?
Catch as many fish as you can within the time limit! Rarer fish are worth more, of course. Don't even bothering[sic] bringing in anything that isn't a fish, either. No more muddy old logs!
Talk back option tango.png I've got more questions.
Talk end option tango.png Seems simple enough.
Talk more option tango.png Any tips?
More likely to catch something valuable if you find a school of fish. A boat probably helps, also. Just don't waste too much time searching.
Talk back option tango.png I've got more questions.
Talk end option tango.png Good to know.
Talk more option tango.png So this tournament has a long history?
Long and storied! What would you like to know?
Talk back option tango.png I've got some other questions instead.
Talk end option tango.png What's the history of this tournament?
Blustering Squall: Do you know why we use wooden lures? Back in the day, you see, grasshoppers were made of wood.
Blustering Squall: We used to just catch them live. Then the termites came, and they stopped being wood. Now we carve them ourselves.
Talk end option tango.png So, some big fish have been caught here?
Blustering Squall: The biggest fish ever caught here was the size of a longhouse!
Blustering Squall: In fact, ol' Thirsty Creek, who caught it, hollowed it out and lived in it.
Blustering Squall: He used to cut chunks off the walls whenever he'd need a snack. And you know Thirsty Creek always needed a snack.
Talk end option tango.png Why is this specifically a rod and reel tournament?
Blustering Squall: Rod and reel fishing is a sacred tradition for the kodan. Goes back to the early times, it does.
Blustering Squall: Why, it's said Koda himself caught the first sea serpent with a poplar branch a double-hook crankbait.
Talk end option tango.png I think I've heard enough stories for now.
Talk merchant tango.png I need some fishing supplies.
Talk end option tango.png I'm good for now.
