Welcome to the First Camp, where the Followers of Ascension began. Tumelo and I are here if you have questions, but be careful who you talk to—there are swindlers about.

Can you explain Ascension to me?

Many heroes of old sought Ascension—communion with the six gods. Those who succeeded the trials helped fight the mursaat, defeat the lich, and save Tyria.

There were three trails in the Crystal Desert and a final test within Augury Rock itself. If you want details, Imani, Emeka, Juma, and Nyala can help.

What are these Followers of Ascension camps?

Our leader, Kaidenna, formed the Followers of Ascension to help those who are interested find a way to ascend. She's at Augury's Shadow if you want to meet her.

And you all just congregate here?

Some, like Kaidenna, came from Tyria once passage to the Crystal Desert was reestablished. Others, like Emeka, came from Amnoon. And us, we fled from Joko's empire.

We've got some shady dealers who try to sell their snake oil to the unsuspecting. Ruffians, in my opinion. Don't fall for their promises of Ascension.

Yeah, that's them. They like to pretend they're famous heroes from the past. I think all of our Ascension talk is rubbing off on them.

Why settle here at First Camp?

We escaped Joko's empire thanks to some brave cavaliers. We decided not to go all the way to Amnoon. I hear it's dangerous and overcrowded.

And you like it here?

Yes. Ascension gives us something to hope for. We lost our youngest daughter, Tuma, recently, and it's been hard, but Binyam and Anaya have been strong for us.
