Thank you, I do not plan to stop :3 As I said though, we wouldn't have that lovely screenshot without that Reddit user. ~SimeUser Sime Maraca Choya.pngTalk 23:32, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

Frost Legion[edit]

Oh boy, it is a challenge to find all the variations of Frost Legion in the middle of combat and in the short time during events. Without doing this, I would not know there were this many new models! Light (talk) 20:38, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

Yep, I get what you mean. But even a combat-heavy pictures are better than none ;) The project for Icebrood is a lil' bit misorganized atm and not updated with all the model names (so there are definitely some still missing), anyway good job on the pictures. I wanted to tell you about the Shared model project but you already discovered it yourself. ~SimeUser Sime Maraca Choya.pngTalk 20:46, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
That means it will soon be my time to go get their skills, right? Was fun with Dominion already... DJemba (talk) 06:50, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

If we have an article for it on gw2w then yeah, we should link to it. Any user who is curious about Guild Wars can use the gww template to get there. ~SimeUser Sime Maraca Choya.pngTalk 15:43, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Edits[edit]

Sure Forging Steel is an instance but its also a map . You never have Gathering resources on the map page but on the zones insted where they are exactly. Now the template shows 2x Forging Steel. One as map and secound time with zones. Also about the Historical locations The Mists for Saplings. There are 2-3 saplings who had WvW maps there. Let me take a look which ones they were and change it back then. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 16:28, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Yeah after I had reverted I noticed that Forging Steel is now essentially doubled in the gathering node template. Reverted myself, sorry. ~Sime 16:30, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Properly sourced[edit]

The link for the dialogue was added in the history because I couldn't find the code for endnotes. I figured someone with a clue would be able to help me, not give me shit for it. Last I checked, that's how it's supposed to work around here. SarielV 20 x 20px 04:28, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Calm down, I was not giving you a shit for it, I just hadn't noticed the source being in the Summary, so I had no idea where it came from. And yes, adding it to the Summary is not a proper source. ~Sime 14:30, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Linking to member list[edit]

Sorry I am trying to figure how to link the member list for Category:Krewes in the Krewe page.

It is fine, but that is often done manually by just listing the groups in a list (as you've done now). ~Sime 16:09, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Possible Warning?[edit]

Should there be a warning or note stating that the tooltips for the EoD collection items may be wrong? I see that a table was added to Catalyst's Trinket to show striker locations but nothing added for Echovald. I also haven't seen any Strikers in the hideout either and it dropped from a random Aetherblade. Same thing with Purist from Vindicator's Trinket. Joshbl56 (talk) 23:05, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

Yup, if the description is wrong, definitely add a note with correct info. The infobox description should stay as it is ingame even if incorrect, and the sic template can be added (to show it is incorrect). ~Sime 23:08, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

Disguised (Jade Brotherhood)[edit]

Thanks for (indirectly) pointing out with that merger that an effect page can have multiple IDs! I think you accidentally requested a weird merger between the Jade Brotherhood and Speaker camp effects, though, as of one of the Speaker camp ones was merged into that article and [[Disguised (The Echovald Wilds Jade Brotherhood masculine disguise)]] still remains instead. If you have time to go yeet the unrelated ID from that merged article, replace it with the correct one from that remnant JB article and arrange the Speaker ones to be merged as well, that'd be cool, but I can go do that when I have time as well. Soulweaver (talk) 16:47, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Oh, that's what I get for doing this very late in the night! Thank you for telling me, I will check the ids and correct it. The effect for Speakers should be eventually merged too, though. ~Sime 17:00, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
Alright, should be fixed! ~Sime 22:05, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, I wouldn't have made three articles in the first place if I had known there was no need to from the start :D Anyway, thanks for handling the cleanup as well! Soulweaver (talk) 06:57, 30 March 2022 (UTC)

Throwing some wiki-love in your direction[edit]

Mentoring Badge.png Award for answering SO many newbie questions (seriously thank you) :D

Heya! Found out about these yesterday and wanted to chuck one in your direction

I just wanted to say a quick thank you for being so approachable and happy to answer all of my newbie wikiproject questions the past couple of weeks. It's always a bit daunting jumping into something new like that and you've made helping with those- and contributing to the wiki in general, feel a lot less intimidating!

I really appreciate that you were willing to take time out of your day to respond or reassure, you're awesome, thank you!💜 Gwylen (talk) 11:29, 28 April 2022 (UTC)

Thank you <3 I am happy to be able to help! ~Sime 14:37, 28 April 2022 (UTC)

Note regarding gem store items - bad practice[edit]

I noticed that for some reason, you're making gem store items harder to discover on the wiki by removing them from the articles. In many of your edits you conceal them into obscure, not comfortable to browse category lists. For example: I followed the link from the Wintersday article to Wintersday/items "For list of ALL Wintersday rewards and items, see: Wintersday/items" and you removed the reference to the gem store and its items from this article.

And this isn't the first time you've done it as you seem to prefer to highlight "free items" in your articles instead of gem store items. Since the development of the game, services and this wiki are funded by purchases in the gem store, shouldn't the gem store related items be more visible and easier to discover and navigate?--77.111.247.59 10:57, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

Not Sime (obviously), but going to say in her defence: most players won't be looking for the Gem Store items, and the categories really aren't that hard to browse? The gem store items are still linked on the page, and it just makes things more readable, at least in my opinion. Sunlion (talk) 11:13, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
I created the lists to have a full reference for items that you can earn by playing the festivals + categories for gems store items separately as you cannot earn them from the festivals and they are not always fully related. The lists never included gem store stuff (have you even checked the pages, btw? The gem store link is ALWAYS at the bottom, and gem store items were NEVER, I repeat never part of the list page) and the wording on the Wintersday page was a leftover from when I created the first draft of the lists so I updated it to match the other pages (I have not updated the main Wintersday page yet cuz busy, sue me). Mixing free and paid stuff like you want to do in this manner is a bad idea. ~Sime 11:48, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

Selectable Prefix Items[edit]

Hi Sime! Thanks for your change to the selectable prefix items pages, that's definitely a better way of doing it. I do have a small hesitation though, which is that I haven't tested any but the specific ones I edited, do you know for sure if they all function that way? For example, the Mist Pendant from fractals is now showing with the same notes about expansions, but I've never checked whether it does. Either way thanks again! Kinerd (talk) 02:23, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

Glad you like it! Your edits prompted me to suggest it, I think a similar change was due for a long time for better accessibility. And about the Mist trinkets, while I cannot test it myself, there is actually note on the Mist Talisman about HoT being needed for the HoT prefixes + based on the latest patch notes about the issue (May 28, 2019 game update), it should be correct for every non-legendary selectable item. ~Sime 04:46, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

Event follow-up clarity[edit]

Hey Sime, it's just a little thing, but I've noticed you re-added one dynamic event in new Gyala Delve meta chain after I removed it from Capture the Behemoth's Gap base. Although yes, the Consultant Suyeom event won't start unless the base is captured, I feel like it's a bit messy to include every single dynamic event in the "Followed by" tab, that happens after securing the outpost. Going by this logic, you would have to include at least few others, like "Defend the base", "Rescue the scouts" etc, which will bloat the list tremendously. I think it's better if "Preceded by/Followed by" consists only of important event chains (if it's part of a meta) for quick and easy navigation, rather than any dynamic event that upgrades the base. But that's just my opinion so I've left it as it is now. Cheers.

I understand what you are saying and get it, though it is a standard formatting to include events that are dependent on the completion there. However, if there is truly a long list of events that appear after (I have not personally completed the map too much, so I am not completely sure about everything.), we could list them under Notes with something like "The successful completion of this capture event is required for the following events in the area to appear: ..". ~Sime 20:27, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Scholar Blaithnat in Caer Aval[edit]

There seems to be a disagreement so I thought I'd comment here. I just double checked on my character who finished Victory or Death, and she is still there in the instance. SpaceNerd95251 (talk) 22:29, 20 June 2023 (UTC)

Alright, I am sure we will manage to solve it. I am not going to comment on all three talks, though. ~Sime 22:38, 20 June 2023 (UTC)

You're Welcome! (And Nice User Page)[edit]

Hi! I just wanted to thank you for thanking me for my edit on the Kurzicks page. To be honest, although I've been a "Wikipedian"/wiki editor and writer for years (just started doing it on GW2 Wiki, of course xP), I've never once had the pleasure of being thanked for my meager efforts. I've been busy the last several weeks and failed to notice your "thank you", so please forgive the lateness of my response. I've always gotten joy simply from earnestly trying to improve the wikis to which I and others are fortunate to have access, but I've gotten that joy on a whole new "tier" thanks to your simple thank you. You've made my day (and I needed today "made" x)).

Finally, I also wanted to compliment you on your fine User and even User Talk pages, which are among the best I've had the pleasure to view! They are actually somewhat inspirational, and I hope one day I might have a User page that nears the level of quality and professional aesthetics that yours does. Have a great day, @Sime, and thanks again for the "thanks"! :)

OGfrostbyte (talk) 13:13, 22 June 2023 (UTC)

Aww, thank you, you made my day as well with your kind words! The 'Thank' function is such a simple tool yet it can be very effective exactly as you say. When I have time, I patrol the Recent changes, checking new edits to fix formatting, confirm info and such, and while all editors and edits with good faith are 100% valuable and important, once in a while I like thanking users for certain edits, not only for improving information or fixing mistakes (also shoutout to our template/smw wizards who implement my suggestions and keep fixing my mess when I attempt something myself lol), but sometimes also to motivate them and simply thank them, even if sometimes their edit might seem small on paper (like fixing a typo, which is still important for the wiki health, though). Truly, the 'Thank' function allows a quick and easy appreciation, and even better when it indeed makes someone motivated and happy! I hope you will continue to edit the GW2 wiki, and do not hesitate to come to me or other veteran editors (or our wiki discord) if you need any help. Also, my User page is quite simple, just a list of my characters and some links useful for editing, feel free to use the formatting on your own page if you want. ~Sime 18:31, 22 June 2023 (UTC)

Hey, not sure how to reach you[edit]

Hey mate, you posted on my page here. Sorry if this isn't a good way to reach out - I haven't delved much into wiki editing. If there's a guide or some doco that I should be going through, please let me know!

On the topic of Trader's Keys: I'm not sure about all vendors, no, but I tested Hafren and Kadir, both of whom only provide 5 max now. And I'm almost certain Hafren provided unlimited not long ago.

Hey, thanks! I saw your response on your talk page and wanted to respond but forgot. Alright, so no mass editting. If you find any other vendor that has a limit, simply go on their page to Items offered, and add per day=5 (or whatever the number is) to the item's row, so like {{vendor table row|item=Lumps of Coal|quantity=10|cost=520 coin|per day=5}}. You cannot edit easily all the vendors from the Trader's Key at the same time. Hope this helps and if you need any other help, hit me or anyone else up! And contacting someone via their talk is the most common and recommended way usually, another one is to go on the wiki discord if you want a quick help/answer. ~Sime 01:10, 3 September 2023 (UTC)

Mordremoth name reveal retcon source[edit]

Hi, could you provide me with a source of the "Mordremoth name drop" retcon you mentioned when reverting my contributions to the LWS1 Episode on Scarlet's Room?

As you can see there, not only did I find forum posts from 2014, but also one from 2018. So I do see merit in mentioning that fact in a note and I think that a complete reversal of my edit is a bit heavy-handed, given that by citing your source we could distill a better archival note on that topic.

Happy to hear from you! :) --BelleroPhone (talk) 15:08, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

Here. It was added in 2021. We also usually do not add forum comments, though we could readd the note that it was the original name-drop instance. ~Sime 15:25, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
Awesome! Glad to hear that the years line up and that the posts I've found predate the change you quote. Since I initially came to the article I edited because of my own confusion, I find your suggestion really good! I'll add a new note (sourceless, to adhere to the "avoid user forum posts" principle) linking that part of the dialogue to the retconned note in the previous Episode. Thanks :) --BelleroPhone (talk) 15:38, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
Glad we could came to an agreeable conclusion! ~Sime 15:54, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

Mount Gallery[edit]

Hi. While runing around I got a small idea. We have diferent gallery mount pages but most of those images are preview of those mounts. What do you think about remaking them into better ? Now that we can "show" our mounts without the rides in our homestead. You cant really turn them around to be in better light or move them to better place but at least something. There might be an issue that you will see other mounts in the background, but I do belive that can be fixed with decorations. Or the owner can jump onto that second mount to get rid of it from the screen while another person would make that image. What do you think ? A good idea worth looking over ? --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 13:25, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

Well, that will require for someone to own all the skins, which I am certainly not gonna do. Otherwise sure, but I won't be helping with it. ~Sime 18:32, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

Instance NPC coordinates[edit]

Hey, I don't mind not listing them, but from what I understand of their wiki pages, there are some other story-only NPCs whose coordinates are listed - might want to remove those too for consistency: Charr Engineer, Astorra, Morraloo, Trembling Song, Vorrk. -- kazerniel (talk | contribs) 01:32, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
