Interesting, thank you Relyk. Can you tell me how I can dump revision and diff information as XML output? Nefastu (talk) 13:55, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
Special:Export, I wrote a bash script for the diff.--Relyk ~ talk < 13:36, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

Feedback[edit]

Hey Nefastu, these tables look great! They'd be perfect for including at the bottom of skill articles, maybe in a show/hide section. I'd also love to see a separate "detailed" history where each iteration of a skill is shown with an infobox, similar to what was done on the Guild Wars Wiki (example). Something like this:

Skill history

Patch Changes
April 19, 2016 The regeneration duration applied by this trait has been increased from 3 seconds to 6 seconds.
June 23, 2015 Specialization update:
  • Chilled, crippled, and immobilized have their durations reduced by 33% when applied to you. Gain regeneration for 3 seconds whenever one of these conditions is applied to you. This trait has a 10-second internal cooldown.
April 15, 2014 Added a cooldown trait fact.
April 30, 2013 Dogged March has been added to the game and replaced Turtle's Defense as a Adept major trait in Defense.
  • Incoming immobilize, chill, and cripple conditions are reduced by 33%. Gain 3 seconds of regeneration when you are crippled, chilled, or immobilized. This effect can trigger only once every 10 seconds.

Obviously the formatting here could use some cleaning up, but what do you think? - Felix Omni 04:29, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

Kind of irrelevant, but the green and purple work better than the yellow, imo. —Ventriloquist 11:35, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Warrior skill, warrior colors. :P - Felix Omni 14:54, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Oh, the fact that 'pve' and 'warrior' share the same colors confused me; thought you were using that color for all of them, derp. —Ventriloquist 17:56, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for your feedback, Felix Omni. I've updated this page to include a full page skill history for the first example like on the GWW. It probably would be the best idea to implement the same structure from GWW on the GW2W. There is another example as well to showcase skills that have not been altered through patches.
Regarding the formatting: Having the table shown as default with the option to hide it does seem like a better choice to me.
For patch links: adding #HEADER lets you automatically jump to the relevant section of the page, though update notes does not seem to be consistent with what header should be referenced, e.g. for Dogged March alone there are #Warrior, Warrior 2 and Defense. Should I still include headers? Nefastu (talk) 13:55, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
I would simply make a best attempt DPL matching by skill type, specialization, then profession: User:Relyk/Sandbox/skilldetails--Relyk ~ talk < 00:42, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
