Welcome[edit]
Hi, welcome to the wiki! I see you're doing some experimenting on your user page; let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything! (Also, I've renamed your Qadim screenshot to File:User Bjjacks2 Qtp.jpg, which is our standard naming convention for user images, if you're wondering why I was meddling with your stuff!) —Idris 15:44, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Idris! I will keep that in mind for the future. I decided it would be much better to play around on my user page than actual pages. --Bjjacks2 (talk) 14:59, 24 October 2019 (UTC)

Could you confirm whether the edits made by the above IP were you? Normally it doesn't matter if you forget to log in, but we can't award credit for On Wiki of Gold if we aren't sure who made the contribution. —Idris 15:41, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- Yes that was my edit. Not sure what confirmation I can send you for it. If I don't get credit for it that's fine. I just wanted to be sure it got noted what was added. Bjjacks2 (talk) 15:51, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
- You confirming it here while logged in should be sufficient. I notice you also left some evidence by reverting and restoring an edit made while logged out, which also helps. Do try to make sure you're logged in for future OWoG contributions, though! —Idris 15:53, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
Iron Legion Engine[edit]
Hi Bjjacks. You may have noticed that an article you created recently has been reworked by another user. I can see that you put a lot of effort into creating that article, so I thought I'd come over and explain where you went wrong and how you can avoid having your work undone like this in future. You're a good editor, and I'd hate for you to feel discouraged. :)
- It looks like you may have gotten confused about two different objects that both require being fed Scrap Metal from Crates: one is the forge at Santia's Forge, which has the bellows minigame you play during the associated event; the other is a broken siege vehicle that must be fixed during the Revels & Rivals story step, and is the correct object to be documented under Iron Legion Engine.
- The forge is not actually an interactable object, and doesn't require its own object article -- the objects you interact with during the event are Bellows.
- You uploaded a couple of (now deleted) screenshots of the skills granted by the bellows. This wasn't necessary, as we create articles for each skill, and can display them as clickable links on other articles; you'll notice they're already up on the event article here.
Thank you again for your effort; I hope you now have a better idea of what went wrong here, but please let me know if you still have any questions or concerns. —Idris 14:49, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
- Oh, another little thing I've just noticed: you uploaded the infobox image under the name
IronLegionEngine.jpg
, and consequently had to add an image parameter to the infobox to make it show up. If you upload the image with the exact same name as the article, spaces and all, asIron Legion Engine.jpg
, then it will automatically appear and you won't need to bother adding the parameter to the infobox. :) If you accidentally upload it with the wrong name, you can rename it by clicking on the "move" tab at the top of the page. —Idris 15:23, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
Ah shoot sorry! I thought that was the engine. I apologize. I remembered the scrap metal and thought it was that. I will do better diligence in the future to be sure I'm not creating incorrect pages. Thanks for the advice! I'll jump over to the correct event for that object and see if it needs any input. Bjjacks2 (talk) 15:49, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
- No worries, we all make mistakes, especially when we're still new! You created this article for OWoG, and I'm expecting that you will still get credit for it, despite the errors, because you did correctly notice that the engine was part of a story step and added story involvement for it. :) —Idris 15:52, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
Upper Blood Keep[edit]
- Hello, I am really sorry I am getting in touch with you about this so late, should've done it asap. I have removed your edit from the Ambient dialogue section, as these are per Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Dialogue formatting what we call Quotes/Greets when you interact with the NPCs and thus go on the individual NPC pages (Ambient dialogue is basically what the NPC says without any player's prompt). I also made a mistake assuming all these quotes are already documented on the NPC pages, so I am currently adding them where applicable (with credit to you in the summary). Better late than never I guess?
- I am again really sorry for the late response and I hope I haven't discouraged you, that's definitely not my intent. I simply sometimes forget that I've also started somewhere and mixed where goes what. ~SimeTalk 13:55, 2 December 2019 (UTC)
I'll take a look at those dialogue guidelines. I assumed anything that didn't actually give chat options was instead ambient dialogue since you don't have a chat window open up. Thanks for letting me know! Bjjacks2 (talk) 01:53, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
