I am madly in love with the brigher ones. They look extracted right from the wallpaper. :D Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 15:00, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Can we have them brighter than that? I'd like to read what's in the black lettering... and the darkest colors on the brighter section still makes it hard... Still like it better though than the first set. Ariyen 18:58, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Tango icons[edit]
Interesting... Could you upload some in 19x19px form? (The outlines would need resizing, which is why I'm asking for specific uploads rather than |19px resizing.) I think they look really good. My concerns are: a small elementalist icon may look a bit busy with the flamey bits; the two ranger colours look a little too different - the darker shade could be lightened slightly; guardian might be confused for warrior given that it's the same shape as GWW's warrior icon, but it's a placeholder so doesn't matter atm. pling 00:36, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- I was wondering if Biro modified the icons a bit so they looked good miniaturised. Now I know. :) I might make a few modifications to the smaller icons - dropping the claw marks off the ranger paw, and reducing the bits off the ele flame so they're cleaner. It might take me a few days to find the time to make the suggested changes. I appreciate the feedback, pling - thanks. -- aspectacle 02:27, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm not sure about outlines and stuff, but there are some minor differences between his small and large icons. Also, thanks - take as long as you need. pling 02:41, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- I like these designs. I cannot wait to see the finished products. I can foresee some problems though with the intracity of the ele and war ones with smaller versions. I like the small marks on the ranger icon. It would be a shame to lose them, but I suppose if it is only on the small version, I can live with that. ;) Venom20 03:00, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- Excellent, thanks Aspectacle. All the small icons apart from the elementalist look great. (I particularly like the necro :D) The elementalist looks... I don't know, like it has artefacts. I think it might look better without that middle white bit (so it's like one solid flame) - the image is slightly too detailed and maybe the tongues of flame too subtle to be perfect when small. I do like the large version, though - that can stay as it is. pling 17:12, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- Aspectacle. I have a legitimate question... WHY ARE YOU SO AWESOME? ;) Anyway, I agree with Pling about the small elementalist. Aqua (T|C) 18:05, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- Reduce the curliness of the white in the senter and don't have split edges and it works just fine. :) - Infinite - talk 18:09, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- Hm - I thought I'd managed to get the mini-ele right. :P I'll see what I can do with reducing the middle white rather than expanding it. -- aspectacle 22:29, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Race Tangos[edit]
I like 'em. The human A also looks kinda nice, but it lso looks a bit weird... Aqua (T|C) 17:48, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks Aqua. The human A version isn't really finished and I'm unlikely to finish it now. I think it has too much complexity compared to the other race icons and it won't miniaturise cleanly. I'm probably going to change the charr icon to red to match the race selection screen at character creation and also to make the yellow of the human icon seem less out of place colour spectrum wise.
- I hope to get the miniaturised versions done this weekend. -- aspectacle 22:48, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
A week and a half later... they look good. Sylvari is a bit too green IMO and the Norn should be an icier (wow that's actually a legitimate word) blue, but otherwise looks good to me. Aqua (T|C) 16:55, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- If you want to see my attempt at an icy looking norn icon, take a look at the history of the icon. It only ends up completely washed out and hard to see especially in the smaller images. So I've tried other colours and believe the stronger colours look more compelling and cohesive as a set. As I have yet to see an outpouring of disgust at my colour choices it is unlikely I will make any further changes to the set. -- aspectacle 22:49, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the sylvari tango looks like broccoli to me. I hate broccoli. --hexal 00:49, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for ruining that icon for me. Thankfully I don't have an aversion to broccoli so I'm not too bothered by it. :) -- aspectacle 01:12, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Because the race icons don't sound very final, I only uploaded the faded variants for the professions (and the any). The some tango is too big currently, but it's not yours, yet I rather you scale it properly, rather than me scaling it to what I feel is right. - Infinite - talk 15:25, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the race icons. Now that the small engineer icon looks like the small charr icon, save for the color, is there any chance you'll be changing the charr icon? --Seventh 15:49, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
- The race icons aren't implemented yet. The engineer looks like the charr because it is a recolored charr. Aqua (T|C) 16:13, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
- I know the race icons aren't present in the game, or at least not yet to my knowledge, and official icons might never exist. But, do we know that the engineer icon in-game is the what's currently being used on the wiki? If it is, I think we should at least change the temporary icon for the charr, to make it easier to discern the difference. If it's just something wiki editors came up with as a placeholder until we learn the actual icon for the engineer, then I suppose there's no need to make any changes until we at least find out what the actual in-game icon is. --Seventh 00:20, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- The tango icon for the engineer is a placeholder until we have access to the new demo (in which the Engineer is a playable option), after which we know what the profession icon is. We might not have to change the current charr tangos depending on the engineer's icon. - Infinite - talk 00:25, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- I say you implement the race ones on the wiki here; they can be changed if official images come out, and they certainly work in the meantime. If they do give us official icons, these wouldn't matter by game release anyway. If they don't give us anything, then the wiki community will have its own icons to help manage the racial skills among profession skills in lists. Things can always be changed/undone... ~~ Kiomadoushi 17:16, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

- I really like the icons, it's about time we had some quality Race tangos. I was thinking though, that in my opinion at least, the norn icon doesn't quite fit in with the other four icons. I reckon that its just as good as the others in regards to quality but its just that im not sure a bear is the best image. That said, I don't really have any better ideas for what might suit it instead. Also, maybe with the human icon, use less buildings so it can be "miniaturise cleanly". Maybe just one or two very human building silhouettes, not so much specifically from the city but just unmistakably haman in design. Also, I noticed that the 48px Asura icon is a lighter shade than the 20px and 200px icons. Anyway, Its all quaity work and I reckon it should be implemented in wiki (either as is or tweaked a bit) so we have something to work with. : ) Titan Crow 09:28, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback Titan. I will not be revisiting the themes and design of the race icons until we have a set of profession icons which align with those seen in game. -- aspectacle 01:16, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Engineer Tango[edit]
I've just seen you changed the Engineer tango, so is that the official icon from the game?
If it is, I gotta say that I prefered your old one. I know that the Engineer is an expert with bombs and the new icon portrays it a lot more but the old icon convayed a more "Engineery" felling and implied that they are capable of doing so much more than just blowing shit up.
All that said though, it does miniaturise a whole lot more cleanly and it is a more in theme with the other icons. Titan Crow 09:37, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, it is the official icon. So that cogs can be reserved for the Iron Citadel as it goes. Glastium | talk 10:33, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
- I kinda liked the cog too. But I'm sticking with the profession icons from the game. -- aspectacle 10:54, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
