Stealth or not?[edit]
I read somewhere that this skill isn't exactly classified as a 'Stealth' skill such as the others already in the category because the invisibility it gives CAN be broken when you receive damage. It was probably in the reddit discussion, but I can't find it now. Anyone else know? 86.27.143.87 12:11, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
- Stealth is one of the thief mechanics, no? A mesmer using it would be quite lame. Others has been speculating about this before, if theres a difference to Stealth and Invisibility. Apparently there is. Lhimez 09:09, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- The problem is that all Stealth skills (that I know of and have seen in game) give you a buff with the same icon that makes you invisible, and most of them specifically mention Stealth or gaining Stealth, whereas other skills like the ranger's Camouflage only mention(ed) invisibility and you disappeared without any sort of buff. In my judgment they're two entirely different things. Stealth makes use of invisibility, but being invisible doesn't necessary mean Stealth is involved. See Talk:Stealth for my old ramblings on the topic. --zeeZ (talk) 23:55, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah. Invisibility also does have more limits to it too. Movement Im (mostly) talking about. Camouflage doesnt let you move at all, Veils limits are its own reaches and Decoy doesnt let you move neither (I presume, or it probably has a rather short duration). Lhimez 15:04, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
- Alright, now the article says that it stealths allies. Do we have a source that mentions applying stealth? --zeeZ 14:27, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
- It always said stealth.
I cant find any better way of formulating it and neither did the one writing it, apparently.Lhimez 09:01, 26 December 2011 (UTC)- Luckily the wiki is a community project, where extra input will generally be readily available. :) - Infinite - talk 12:19, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
- Of course its stealth, there is no difference between stealth and invisibility, different words for same thing. Ramei Arashi 21:01, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Weapon skill?[edit]
How do we know this is a weapon skill and not a utility skill? --Messenger 18:45, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
- It isnt classified as a weapon skill, is it? Lhimez 09:10, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
Allies like...[edit]
Companions, minions... illusions?! That would certainly make for some good strategies. Lhimez 09:12, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- You can only control what you do, though. Minions attack any target in range as in GW1, don't they?--Ph03n1x 09:23, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- Rangers could tell them not to, as to companions. Minions I dont know about... Wont be using them. Lhimez 13:50, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- Minions attack the same way as they did in the first installment (or they'll only attack hostiles (not really sure)), rangers' pets however have their own Pet Interface, Illusions will only attack the target upon which they were summoned and cannot be directly controlled. But to answer the main question: I am almost 100% sure that Animal Companions, minions and illusions will benefit from the effects of veil. --The Holy Dragons 15:20, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- It wasnt much of a question, but thank you, anyways; to show the public a me that isnt as much not so polite as I use to be... Ehm? Anyways, as to your answer about illusions; not all are summoned for a purpose of killing someone. (;Mirror Images, Decoy etc.(?)) Lhimez 19:45, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- The question was if the illusions were controllable hence: "...and cannot be directly controlled." (just copied it from the Illusions page itself) I am also pretty sure that all summoned illusions have the intention of killing, some (the clones) however are too weak to cause any real damage and are thus used as decoys. --The Holy Dragons 22:01, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Creation[edit]
can also be created using engineering thrown utility buff elixir 107.9.231.4 01:52, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Combo Field[edit]
Can anyone confirm that this creates a light field? The version created by the Engineer's Toss Elixir U creates an ethereal field. Not sure if it's the same for the Mesmer, though.24.218.223.17 02:42, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
- Confirmed, functions as ethereal field in-game. Rikkieh 18:26, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
- STILL functions as an Ethereal Field to this day, despite STILL stating "Light" in the description. 94.254.80.245 21:09, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Temporal Enchanter[edit]
Does Temporal enchanter effect the duration of the stealth or the veil? How does this trait effect the duration?
Stealth[edit]
If we had a stealth mechanic page I agree, but it links to the stealth effect while we have a note saying it should link to stealth. I don't see why the description is beyond reprimand even though it is misleading.--Relyk ~ talk < 23:31, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
