Bug message to ANet[edit]
The event Stop Captain Wiley before he finishes scouring the ship for treasure seems to be bugged.
Periodically Captain Wiley disappears from his usual base saying "My apologies, a most excellent business venture has presented itself. I must be off."
The event may or may not be happening at the time (according to the API return).
When the event is happening, the Captain is not found locally, specifically in any ships.
Looked on several servers.
- Hi, thanks for posting about this issue, however this isn't really a good place to post bug reports. I don't think anet members, bug fixers or otherwise, come to the wiki very often. Instead, you should either submit a bug report via the in game reporting mechanism by opening the main menu and clicking "support", or you can do so on the forums, in their game bugs forum. - You can add a {{bug}} tag to the page in the notes section to document the bug on the wiki as well.--Relyk ~ talk < 03:50, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- I've added the bug tag to the article. I know the above discussion happened over two years ago, but when I went to look for him recently, he wasn't in either of his locations, so I assumed he was still buggy. I'm not 100% sure if he's actually bugged or just has an odd spawn schedule, however—I plan on researching this later, but in case I forget, I'm making a note of it here for posterity. --Idris (talk) 16:15, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
- Alright, cursory research seems to imply that he does indeed have a weird respawn schedule. Still not 100% on this, but it seems that he won't respawn until his event does, even if he was killed in his chilling-in-Wiley's-Cove form. This doesn't say much about the above bug report from 2013, but since my observations no longer confirm it, I'm going to take the bug tag down again. --Idris (talk) 20:21, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
