Confusing Pronoun[edit]

For those who don't immediately associate "she" with a tree, the following sentence, while accurate, is confusing: "Despite this, she can still contact Soundless..." 98.202.84.31 22:05, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

I have replaced the initial pronoun with the pale tree to make it clearer. I think. Psycho Robot (talk) 22:10, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
Another name for the Pale Tree is the Mother Tree, hence the "she". But... --Claret (talk) 23:06, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
Not to mention that the Pale Tree takes a female shape when materializing herself for communication with non-sylvari. Konig 07:49, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
When I originally used she, it was because Scott McGough referred to the Pale Tree as a she and her in the original interview. "If the Pale Tree needed to speak to a Soundless sylvari, she could, but it would take more effort on her part than it would to speak to a regular sylvari." But there's no problem with it being changed to the Pale Tree at all. Just clarifying. --Wingsy (talk) 12:20, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

LS 2[edit]

SPOILER for LS2. It is now clear that Mordremoth can corrupt Sylvari, especially Soundless to do his bidding. Scarlet, as well as the sylvari who sabotaged the Zephyrites, were soundless and became corrupted (Scarlet not technically affiliated with the group Soundless). In Dragon's Reach pt. 1 the Pale Tree explains that Omadd's machine is dangerous as she 'shields the light from the darkness' or something along those lines, which is seemingly not possible in that machine. I think we should add LS2 lore that Soundless can be more easily corrupted than other Sylvari, as they have rejected the Pale Tree (and her protection) alltogether. Thoughts? If I recall it correctly, the Avatar of the Pale Tree tells sylvari that she shields them from a darkness unimaginable that isn't related to Omadd's machine (in terms of the darkness itself) but actually the dragon's corruption. Not that i'm disagreeing with you, it would be right to edit to state the Soundless are vulnerable to a dragon's corruption having rejected the protection of the pale tree. It's an integral fact of the Soundless. --Wingsy (talk) 11:39, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
Based on the emphasis that seems to have been placed on willpower in the HoT story when it comes to sylvari resisting Mordremoth, I might almost suggest that some Soundless may find it easier to remain themselves, since they are so used to shielding their minds from the Pale Tree. 67.246.150.243 04:49, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

More soundless sylvari[edit]

I just came across Talaith in Caledon Forest and in her conversation (At The Weeping Isle) she says: The Nightmare Court...they were looking to "recruit" the Soundless. Few of us made it out alive. I found the Weeping Isle, thought it would be more defensible. It's better, but still they come... She says us while referring to the soundless, so she is one of them. I was thinking maybe someone could add her to the list of soundless? thank you --Scarlet (talk) 19:58, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

She's been listed for months. Last in the list. Konig 23:48, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
It's because I added her to the category. --Ventriloquist 23:50, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
Derpaderp, for some reason it registered in my brain that this article was a manual listing. Konig 04:56, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
