Location

In Edge of Destiny, the awakening of Primordus is said to take place next to Rata Sum ("The signs of the dragonrise were everywhere: The earthquake that shook Rata Sum"). Yet, in GW1, the location of the Central Transfer Chamber (i.e. Primordus) is in the Shiverpeaks. Which is correct? pling 14:44, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Maybe that's referring to the incredible power of the dragon by saying that the earthquake even hit Rata Sum? Idk, tbh.-- Shew 14:53, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

If I had to guess i would say that what happened near rata sum is just from the champion not primdoris himself. I think that Prim is still near the central transfer chamber, because if you remember in GW:EN there are destroyers near rata sum at times despite Prim being in a state of hibernation yet.--Elemental Phantom 16:45, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

1) That bit from the book was talking about the signs of Kralkatorrik rising. Not the other ED rising. 2) Primordus is not near the CTCanymore. Read the article: "Primordus has remained underneath the surface since its awakening, clearing huge tracks of the underground regions". Or just look at the source: [1]. "Primordus has remained beneath the surface, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t moved around. I was sure the book is talking about all the other elder dragons, not just Kralkatorrik - it mentions the tidal wave that flooded Lion's Arch (Zhaitan), the geysers erupting near Hoelbrak (Jormag), and the earthquake near Rata Sum (Primordus? Or maybe Deep Sea Dragon...?). It then describes Kralk's rise - the pall over the Black Citadel. However... I don't know, it's a little ambiguously written. "Tyria had been wracked by such terrible birth pangs before" does support your conclusion...

For the primordus part - I was referring to Infinite and Elemental Phantom. With the present tense and the "still." He was very much in the CTC during his own awakening. That, plus the line you last quoted, imo, proves that this isn't about the awakenings of the dragons. Also note: Hoelbrak didn't exist when Jormag woke, nor were there geysers affiliated with him (to our knowledge). Those things would probably be more affiliated with Primordus (being of fire and underground and everything). Also, it didn't say that LA was flooded, merely that ships were carried onto its streets. Though it was at least partially flooded, it was not to the extent of Zhaitan which flooded half of Kryta. These sound more like the other Elder Dragons are getting restless because a fifth is waking up. 03:34, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

On a semi-related note, why is Kralk's rise said to be near the Black Citadel, when he was surely closer to the Flame Citadel, even if you take into account his size? (See the map.) pling 11:20, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

I'm guessing you're referring to the "pall over the black citadel" part of the book? Note that comment was prior to Kralkatorrik's actual awakening, so it wasn't Kralkatorrik near the Black Citadel. -- Konig/talk 19:54, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

Minions

So, if the Stone Dwarves are "Ensuring Primordus' minions never reach the surface" why "As the result of his actions, Primordus minions can be found all over the surface?" Does this mean the destroyers are on the surface or no? Or does he have several different types of minions? 67.249.45.168 20:37, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Also keep in mind that 250 years passed and Tyria is pretty big. The dwarves' numbers are likely so thin now there's probably next to nothing stopping Primordus' minions from reaching the surface. Course, that's just speculation on my part. Konig/talk 22:18, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Gender

In the referenced interview, Mr. Grubb continuosly refers to Primordus as "he." In this article both "it" and "he" are used, so perhaps we should find out which one is more (or less) correct in this case. Any ideas? Mediggo 13:22, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Konig will probably walk in and prove me utterly wrong, but are we aware of any of their offspring? Before we discover its gender, we need to establish if it even has one. I'm inclined to think they don't have a sex, in which case we can call it whatever. I vote for 'Steve'. A F K When Needed 14:30, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

srry the bubbles thing got old fast so we'll just have to keep Primordus here :P also I myself think the elder dragons don't have a gender either. (and the wiki should treat them like that until gender has been confirmed) --The Holy Dragons 15:17, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

"The races of Tyria are unable to understand their [...] gender" - Elder Dragon. The gender bit came from the devs after an interview called Kralkatorrik "she" a few times. Edge of Destiny has shown Glint referring to Kralk as a male, but the genders of all other dragons are unknown - the devs have been using he a bit for them though, but he/him/his is often used as gender-neutral as well as referring to males.

In short: We don't know Primordus' gender and anything shy of the ED or their champions claiming a gender (or a direct word-of-god from anet saying "xyz is abc") is not valid to claim a gender. Konig/talk 21:47, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

"Many great destroyers"

"Dwarven legends tell of many Great Destroyers which are today believed to reference to Primordus and its armies."
I can't find a source for this quote at all. It's also mentioned in the Dwarf article but again, without a source. The only similar thing I could find was the The Elder Dragons book. 77.165.250.227 16:51, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

That book is the source and isn't "similar" but practically verbatim. We do not cite in-game sources otherwise articles would be flooded with references (we tested it back with the gww when we began using reference tags, it looked bad). Konig (talk) 17:24, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

Looks very different from the old statue

Given how dramatically different his appearance is now from the old statue near the Central Transfer Chamber that was supposed to be him (much larger, very different face, etc. etc.), what are the odds we get some sort of retcon saying that the old statue was actually another champion? Gender
