Talk:Might
Not sure where to put this but, the move to "Might" sounds like a good idea. It already says "The Might Boon is a boon" and is in the Boons category. Also, calling it "Might Boon" sounds like the equivalent of saying "Patient Spirit Enchantment" or "Bleeding Condition." ~ Bow | 16:02, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Exactly what I thought. I agree with the move. ShadowRunner 16:02, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- It does have a certain redundancy to it. I vote to move it to Might Venom20 16:20, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Move it. -- Aspectacle 21:05, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Effect on Power[edit]
Is Might a certain % per stack or a set value per stack in regard to it's effect on power? -- Blue Phoenix 06:23, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
- similar question... it says damage - is this all forms of damage? Will Elementalists be effected? I'm sure DoT's won't be, but it never hurts to ask. If there are armor ignoring or life stealing in this game, don't forget about those! 108.92.176.211 17:28, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- If it increases damage dealt by the player affected by it, it increases the damage the player deals. I don't see why any professions would not have their damage increased. In GW2, there are no multiple damage types. And if there are other ways of making enemies lose their life than damage, those obviously won't be affected by a boon that increases damage. Tuomir 19:36, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well, I guess I said that a bit hastily... I looked at the damage article, and apparently everything that makes someone lose life is damage. By this logic, Might improves condition damage. It also lists different damage types, but I have yet to see one skill that specified its damage type. Seems like outdated information. Tuomir 19:53, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- I would really like to know the exact % of extra damage might gives. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.52.110.44 (talk).
- There are two damage types. Direct damage and condition damage. You can tell because Power affects direct damage and Malice affects condition damage. I think it's better to run with Might affecting condition damage as a separate condition damage boosting boon would be utterly ridiculous.---BlakDoxa 14:49, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

Page Information[edit]
I would think that somewhere on this page an explanation of what Might actually does would be logical to have. Unindal 21:26, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
The formula was a bit misleading for me, I thought it was 0,375 * level and another 5 per stack. Adding brackets to the formula like this (0.375 * Level + 5) would make it more clear I think. I can't edit the first section, so it was probably locked for outside editing. The Scars of Time 12:26, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
The description of Ember's Might says nothing about granting a Might boon.. someone should check that.
Consistency[edit]
Should the "Consumables that grant (effect)" sections on all of the Effect pages follow the same parenthetical format as the "Skills that grant (effect)" sections? For example, should
- Bowl of Simple Stirfry - Double-click to gain a 10% chance to gain might whenever you kill a foe. Lasts 30 minutes.
be changed to
- Bowl of Simple Stirfry (10% chance on killing a foe)
in order to follow the format of Skill/Trait section listings such as
- Pyromancer's Puissance (upon casting fire spells) ?
I'll be happy to change them if you all agree. ~ Bow | 06:38, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Might, Power, damage[edit]
Is it certain that Might increases Power and not Attack (attribute), which seems to be amount of damage dealt before modifiers? Mediggo 09:06, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Bullet point, table format or wait for SMW[edit]
Are we reverting back to a table format? Last time people prefered the bullet point form then the table, note that the table in the past were atrocious. So what is the everyone though on this now? Tech Wolf-Talk 15:33, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Might now grants condition damage[edit]
According to some leaked videos from the BWE3 build(on reddit), Might now grants condition damage. Condition based builds just got a little buff :). We'll have to test this next weekend before adding it to the wiki -Cirdan 17:29, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- It adds the same amount of Condition Damage at level 80 as power (35). I haven't done any testing, but it's probably the same formula given the numbers are the same. Previously Unsigned 22:02, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, indirectly - it increases your Condition Damage attribute (formerly called Malice), which is a factor in the formula for all conditions that deal damage. —Dr Ishmael 03:12, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
is there a limit?[edit]
^ because my ranger can give 24 stacks of might to pet without trying, specially with trait to cause pet to gain every boon player gets. checked after a fight so kinda delayed. 98.134.162.14 04:48, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
- I believe all stacks max out at 25 (debuffs and buffs alike). Bluestone 05:18, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
Determining new formula for power/condi damage granted[edit]
- level 80: 30
- level 70: 27
- level 60: 24
- level 50: 21
- level 40: 18
- level 30: 15
- level 20: 12
- level 10: 9
New Forumla seems to be .3125 * level + 5. (always rounding up) I'm going to change it since at any case it's more accurate than the current info.

Might granted by shrines in Siren's Landing[edit]
The shrines in Siren's Landing grant 30 minutes of 3 stacks of might upon using them while the shrines are at full power. Don't know if it should be mentioned on this page. udas 23:55, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- Disregard, it was Might (effect), not regular might. udas 17:20, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
- Maybe this page needs a (see also) note for the effect? Although I don't know how much the might effect is actually used in-game. udas 17:31, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
